Big Bucks

My friends and I stopped by Big Buck's ice cream and had a great time. The staff were about to close but welcomed us in with open arms and were super nice. I got the chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate oreo in a cone and it was top 3 best ice cream I've ever had. I don't know who Big Buck is but that man knows how to make some ice cream!!

Coffee, Ice cream, candy, smoothies, juices, and a whole lot more. Even artwork!We each bought a single scoop cone for a hefty $5.95 apiece, but neither of us were that impressed with the taste. It was a little icy/crunchy and to my palate had a slight freezer burn after-taste.But we had a completely different reaction to the wide selection of artwork sold at Big Bucks, all created by the girlfriend of one of the servers. We loved an image with a beautiful pastel sky over a beachscape with a lighthouse and the wild horses found on the nearby Islands. The print was just $20. We asked our server to tell his girlfriend that her print would soon be travelling home to Connecticut with us.

This place was very good and had great service. They let us sample flavors and even get served after closing time. The chocolate oreo and waffle cone was very good. The vanilla caramel fudge basically just tasted like vanilla so make sure you sample before you commit!

Wait was about 10 mins. The staff were very good about getting people orders and getting them out fast. My favorite flavor I had was the Biscoff Cookie. I don't usually indulge in ice cream but I'm glad I did on vacation.

Overpriced but also understandable in a tourist area. Ice cream is a bit too heavy for my liking. The classic ice cream experience and pretty fast for how busy it was. I did visit again even though I do prefer the classic Hershey ice cream over bucks.

Smooth, full of flavor and simply delicious!We had a family of five all hungry and craving some ice cream, and everyone was HAPPY! The waffle cones were fresh, the shake was thick, and there were tons of flavors to choose from to make everyone happy!It's a rather small ice cream and candy store, but the line moves quickly. The employees were cheerful, and seemed to really like their jobs! I did feel like the prices were a little higher than most places, but worth paying for the homemade ice cream and good service!

Okay - it's a hot day at the Outer Banks - you have to go get ice cream - right??Well this is a cute BIG store that devoted a good portion of the store to selling ice cream. They have the whipped cream to garnish your frozen treat and they even topped it off with a little umbrella. The service was patient and did a good job with our order. They had a nice selection of hard ice cream too.

The best ice cream in the area. That said not the best I've had. The milk content is higher and cream content lower than I prefer. This results in a weak mouth feel with a lacking creaminess. It is a solid commercial ice cream that is better than the Blue Bunny or (ugh) Hershey's that seem to be ubiquitous on the Outer Banks. One day an ice cream place will open that is ultra premium and does not use unnecessary artificial color. Maybe with unique flavors. Until that happens we have Bucks

Wonderful homemade ice cream and it's perfect on a hot summer's day! My family and I stop by several times while on vacation, and we just love the ice cream and the service here! It's a cute ice cream shop, and nestled perfectly close to the neighborhood that we were staying in. We cannot wait to come back as we vacation here as a family annually! We are at 2 different locations of big bucks and we were not disappointed! Great ice cream, lots of choices for everyone including non dairy sorbet, all homemade and fantastic flavor! Definitely will be back!
