Used this public course to host an annual charity golf tournament with 50-75 players from 2010-2016. Affordable cost @ $25 per golfer (included 18 holes and cart use) obviously helped the fundraising bottom-line. Fairways, greens and cart paths were in acceptable shape for that price point. While out of their control, know there are times players are prepping to swing while next to chain-linked fences with obnoxious barking dogs. There are also points where you're sharing roads/travel paths with local traffic, similar to other public courses. Facilities are notably dated but the spaces we occupied were relatively clean. There's a small practice green and driving range on-site.It was super easy working with their golf-pro Adam to coordinate the play aspect; he was thorough and accommodating with any needs that arose. Unfortunately, requiring events to use in-house food/beverage vendors that lack communication and execution became a perennial drawback. Inflated cost is expected because of the convenience factor. That said, limited selection coupled with poor service and delivery ($50 for a small plate of store bough chips-a-hoy cookies) is inexcusable. I had to send out search parties in multiple years for the contracted beverage cart employee on days seeing 85-90 degree temps. Over time, our players voiced displeasure traveling to Portsmouth and a desire to pay a little more for a better playing experience.

I didn't actually golf but I had an event to attend to in the event center. You could definitely tell it was outdated and possibly could remodel a bit to make it a bit more modern. It was bad however. It was nice and spacious and it was very clean! I could see myself having an event here but I would add a lot of decorations and accessories to match my modern style.

I had never actually been on a golf course until I went to visit Bide-A-Wee a few weeks ago and I had an absolute blast. I basically just rode around on a golf cart all day, but that's not the point now is it... This was a really pretty golf course complete with a little bridge over water and lots of ducks. So basically what I'm saying is, no I did not actually golf at Bide-A-Wee but I definitely rode around enough to see what a nice golf course it is. They also have a little cafe/restaurant area that serves hot and cold food. I don't think I'd make much of a golfer, but I'd certainly hang out and ride around Bide-A-Wee any day.

This is just a great course for the price. For the $20 Twilight greens fee, this is a STEAL!The greens are well kept, the fairways are always in good shape and you can generally get out whenever you want. There are lots of courses in the area that have similar pricing but the quality in this course is beyond compare. They make sure this place is ready to play throughout the year which comes in handy during those short warm snaps during the winter months. There's not a lot of water on this course but where they do have it, it can definitely challenge some shot-making decisions.I've not played a lot of different courses in the area but it's definitely one of the better ones.

Don't have your wedding here. Just left in the middle of a wedding at this venue. I was absolutely disappointed. It was super hot, whoever was in charge claimed the air conditioner was on 61 degrees, but it read 82 degrees, and he further stated the door was opening, and closing, so that was the reason for the temperature. As a guest I had to fan myself, as sweat poured down my face and back. The presentation of the fruit at cocktail hour was despicable, the cold fruit was thrown in front of the hot chaffing dishes and sat in aluminum pans. I am very upset I had to leave my friend's wedding, before she could return from her pictures. I didn't even wait to eat, and I will never go there again.

What a beautiful course! Their prices are fantastic for that golfer on a budget! I will be coming back to try out the course itself. As for the driving range...wonderful! Can't beat 100 balls for $6.

I came here for the golfing range. It's a beautifully landscaped and clean place. The pricing is nice- 12 dollars for 4 tokens of golf balls which is two large buckets. There's a lot of small practice fields such as putting. The staff is incredibly friendly and a lot of help. I'll definitely be back to work on my swing!

Enjoyable until we got stuck behind a 4 some of woman who would not let us play through. Caught up to them on the 5th hole, while we waited upwards of 10 minutes each hole (course was not very crowded), we continued to request to play thru. Called the pro shop twice, both times the receiver picked up and hanged up; since there wasn't a phone number for the starter shack, let the phone ring thru to the golf admin director, left message for some assistance. On numerous holes we asked the maintenance staff to get involved, on the 12th hole was told to call the starter shack. Nice guy- told us he couldn't believe they wouldn't let us play thru, made no sense. On the 14th hole, one of the ladies told me that 'there is no way in hell we'll let you play thru'. Long story short, the ladies quit on the 15th hole because they could not play with the stress of a group on the same tee while they tee'd off, go figure! Here's where it gets good, the pro calls me while I'm driving home and in 4'15" tells me that I've lied three separate times: a. no way that we waited 10 min on holes 6- 15 because we played the course in just over 4 hours, playing in less than 3 would have been nice; b. no way the pro shop hung up on us, they wouldn't do that- well then the answering hardware is screwed up; c. there are plenty of staff on the course if there were any issues to address. Wish I had more time to listen to this bombastic pro tell me that it wasn't his course that had issues, it was me and then he offers me a fee greens fee, nice! Me thinks (with our 3 some) may not play bide a wee, just too far to drive and then for a bombastic pro telling me I'm lying, lying, lying.......... I was going to tell him that Andy Giles, at Ocean View, actually drives out to the problem area and very nicely solves the issues. Bombastic pro interrupted me, called me a good ole boy for bringing up Andy, too funny. Think Andy would have told me I'm absolutely right, apologized and made me smile in 4'15" vs getting as defensive as I've ever heard anyone get, think the pro needs a vaca..

Don't waste your money. Overall, this place is very poor. There are tons of courses within 15min of this place that are much better. The greens and fairways are bare at best with dirt in the middle of the fairway. No on repairs divots or ball marks. The staff, especially the marshals are pointless and rude. If you decide to play here, even if you can handle the previous things, plan on a 5-6 hour round cause no one allows you to play through and the marshals don't care about pace of play. Spend your hard earned money at much better courses in the area.
