Bennie & Burk’s Butcher Shop

My uncle had been told that the sandwiches were HUGE, like one sandwich feeds two people for lunch. He didn't believe his friend, so we each ordered our sandwiches. I ordered the butcher's club and omg, ENORMOUS!The store was packed at 1130 when we went to pick it up along with the pork chops, but they are still super fast.

Hearty portions of thin sliced meats!! Bread makes the sandwich and Bennie & Burk's are in the know!!

On this rainy afternoon, we decided to grab dinner early and thought we'd try Bennie & Burks since we'd seen others rave about their food. While it was our first visit there, it surely won't be out last. And word is the brisket is a hot ticket item! Pictured left is the Italian Hoagie with Caprese Salad. Sandwich easily weighed well over a pound! Kevin is showcasing the Club Sub (I think that's right). Both were delicious!

Let me start by saying this place has the best sandwiches on the lake. Today their service was less than stellar as my husband went in and placed his order in their kiosk. He is very patient and kind. After 45 minutes he asked about the status of his order and was told they lost his order. I am praying this is not a regular occurrence as we really love their sandwich. We did learn that since under new ownership that the best way to order is on-line and pick up. The three stars is only due to the poor service. I will review again upon next visit.

Best sandwiches ever! Gorgeous meats, and some tasty prepared foods as well. Highly recommend!

I got the meat sweats after only a half! Absolutely delicious! Love the people that work there and will always make sure to stop in and grab a bite to eat! Thanks y'all for being awesome can't wait to see you next time!

I went to pick up sandwiches today for my first visit. The steak & cheese was fabulous. The Italian sub was stuffed about 2+ inches with meats! We agreed those were probably the best quality subs that we have had in this area! Looks like everything is freshly prepared. The owner and staff were absolutely outstanding. They also have a great selection of freshly cut meats. Nice looking thick steaks, pork chops, chicken too. This is definitely going to be one of my regular stops at Lake Gaston!
