This is a great family friendly park that is conveniently located in Harbour View (close to the library which is also nice). The playground itself is great & offers good variety for all ages. The tennis courts are brand new & fresh! & there's a decent disc golf course too! I love the lil pollinator garden they have & there are some wooden piers located near the boat landing.

Ok I have been looking for a local place to walk/hike and enjoy nature. I'm use to doing this in NVa where there are miles of trails that are tagged for this purpose so nobody gets hurt or lost. This is the second park I have come to in Sulfolk, and very quickly realized that the trail has been changed to some kind of disk throwing course. Sorry but I saw what they are throwing and decided I liked myself enough to not even bother. The sad part is that the trail was pretty and looked like it would have been fun. But again it's not smart to think that it is safe. The kids have a tiny area with kiddie equipment. Only reason I gave 3 stars.

I will say this park is beautiful. It boasts a large disc golf course. It has a huge field that would be perfect to play a game of touch football. Very safe. Clean restrooms and a nice fishing pier. But, our main reason for coming here was so my son could enjoy the playground. Unfortunately the playground was not toddler friendly at all. More for older kids. The equipment had some broken pieces that were a potential danger and you can tell it's just old. Not many options to play on either. The whole area the playground equipment is on needs to be remulched very badly because it is mostly mud. So over all disappointed, but it still did the job if you have nowhere else to go.

I am ashamed that I've never reviewed Bennett's Creek Park (BCP) before. Being the local Suffolk Park Queen, it is unacceptable. I thought I had already reviewed it long ago until I happened to notice my error the other day while kayaking. Well, it's time to remedy my blunder! BCP is decent sized 57-acre park with many amenities. I first started going here with my boys to play on the playground and to go for nature walks. Then, once I bought a kayak, I utilized BCP for their three boat ramps to access the Nansemond River and Bennett's Creek. This is one of my favorite spots for kayaking because of their different water trails. One trail is much longer and more strenuous, having to paddle against the current, and another is shorter, much more peaceful and calm. I also love that there are numerous birds along the way. I saw many Great Egrets, Great Blue Herons, and I even spotted a Green Heron. Here are some other amenities:* Disc Golf (If you're unfamiliar with Disc Golf, check out this website: http://www.discgolf.com/. It has info on how to play and videos.)* Restrooms* Playground* Tennis Courts* Skate Park* Nature Trails (Beware that the trails are combined with Disc Golf.)* Covered picnics tables for reserved use (call 757-484-3984)* Crabbing and Fishing pier * Open grassy fields* During the summer, the Summer Concert Series takes place here at BCP. Check out the website for the dates and bands (http://www.suffolkva.us/parks/special-events). Out of the four parks in Suffolk, BCP is my second favorite (behind Lone Star). It's a fantastic place for boating, you can't beat the price--free! If you're looking for something to do, check out Disc Golf. It could be a new fun hobby for the whole family. Whatever you're looking for, BCP has it.

Some good came from COVID because while the park was closed off to all humans, it was remodeled with a new playground. I have not checked the tennis court (because I'm too fat to play thanks to being quarantined and stuck in the house working & sleeping then repeat), but I hope that they fixed it up too. Bennett's Creek Park has their first event (after Covid) scheduled for next month (June 2021). Oh! There is a skate park in the back near the picnic tables. And if you walk further down along the path you'll find a fishing peer and a place to dock your boat. All that is needed is a walking trail through the woods.

New, safe and practical playground for kiddies. Other amenities offered for entire family to relax and get their outdoor exercise without costing a penny. Additional, enquire with the city's recreation center.

This is such a wonderful park for the North Suffolk area. Trails, playground, Ultimate Frisbee course, nice rest facilities and a beautiful boat ramp and fishing dock. All located right on Bennetts Creek. Side note, back in the 60-70's this park was a Nike antiballistic missile site and you used to be able to see the concrete covers over the silo hatches. It's gone through a lot of improvement s over the years and just keeps getting better. The second half of the summer concert series put on by the city is held here on Friday evenings. It's a lot of fun.

Decent park for the kids, a bit small but not bad. Good walking trail, but you have to be very cautious of the folks playing golf frisbee. Its a good park for the neighborhood, but not worth more than a 20 minute drive.

Beautiful park that has been ruined by the disc golf players. The wildlife trails run right along the same areas in use by disc golf and the players are extremely rude. I've seen players throwing the discs at children walking on the trails and yelling at people . The worst was watching a skateboarder get hit in the head with a disc. I can't imagine how this is not a huge legal liability for the city.
