Bay Oaks Park

Nice park to visit on a bike ride, take the kids to play, go for a walk, and even enjoy the Saturday morning open market. We biked here for a group ride. I went to the restroom and it was very clean. Whomever is tasked with keeping this up, bravo to you.

It's hard to say very much about this project since it's a little early. It's shaping up to have a pretty entrance. This will be a combination development and green space. The open area space will be run by the city of Norfolk parks and recreation. I believe the parking will remain off street. I will update as more development takes place.

This is an awesome park! Tons of climbing structures, cool woodsy, forest theme with animal structures like frogs, turtles, bears,owls, raccoons, squirrels. Swings for every age-even has double swings/parent & child swings. Covered pavilions with picnic tables, lots of trees/grass for shade. NO sand, only mulch as ground floor in play areas Walking trail that winds in and loops around entire park with exercise features along the way. Ample parking. Removed one star bc there's no bathroom HUGE no no when you have a children's park. A bathroom is a MUST for tiny bladders. Also there's no benches for parents around the park, except the covered pavilions. Scary part is it's not fenced in. Ocean view Ave runs parallel to the park which gives super easy access for little feet to run towards the cars & trucks on the road! Keep an eye on your children at all times!
