Barrel 17

Great first experience!!!!I am military visiting from out of town and I ordered the whiskey burger and sweat potato fries and 10/10. One of the best burgers I've ever had. The waygu is top notch and I definitely recommend. Hospitality was on point, Leslie took care of us and did not disappoint.

In town for our daughters track meet, we decided on a whim to swing by Barrel 17 for something to eat. I got the specialty burger of the night, The Vibe Burger - cooked perfectly medium, with caramelized onions and fried mozzarella on top. It was delicious. I got a side of onion rings that were good as well and casually dipped them in their burger sauce. . Being greedy, I also ordered the Wagyu meatballs & fried mozzarella. From what I tasted, it was good, but I was so full off the burger that I couldn't enjoy it like I should've, nor could I come remotely close to finishing my meal. My daughter got chicken tenders & fries that she liked a lot, and my Wife got a steak salad that she raved about, not only because it was cooked at the perfect temperature, but because it came with so much steak, and was so filling. That on top of really good service from the bartender, who was attentive to our needs despite the crowd - they were very busy - I just didn't feel it because everyone from the wait staff, to the cooks, to the bartenders seemed to be working in unison. Did I mention my Wife left happy?Happy Wife, happy Jamar. 5 Stars.

Food was excellent. We got the fried pickles and pimento cheese, chicken tenders, Mac and grilled chicken/bacon/ranch sandwich. The CBR was one of the best I've ever had. Waitress was very attentive. Only negative is it's extremely loud in the restaurant, makes it hard to have a conversation. We will be back

Never but never goes wrong there are 2 places I order old fashioned and this is the one of them every Sunday I am here ordering delicious old fashioned and French fries. I had some food as well and it was delicious also. Service is great and ambiance all TVs are showing football what else I can ask for . Believe me u tried so many places in VB and this is one of the best

As you can tell from my previous reviews that this has not been my favorite spot. I usually like the food, great location and love the bar and vibe. But the customer service is usually lacking. It's only fair that I update because I went in last night (Sunday) and it was busy. I didn't have high hopes. We sat right at the bar and Brewer took care of us. We had water and drinks immediately. We ordered food and it did take awhile to get the food but Brewer was on it!! He gave us a small portion of nachos for waiting so long. Perfection! I got the grilled cheese and brussel sprouts and my friend got just a regular ole basic burger with fries. Everything was delicious and her burger was perfectly cooked. As you can tell it's been awhile since I have been here but after tonights service and experience I might just have to start coming back more often.

I arrived here with my sons at 6:38pm on a Sunday evening with my sons, while visiting the area. I found them on Yelp. The main reason why I chose them is because they had wings that were affordable and looked good. We were able to choose our seat from what was available. There are 4 TVs present, two at the bar and two on the other wall. They do have an area for kids to play. The atmosphere is very casual as the staff were wearing casual clothes. The establishment isn't very large with about 13 tables and bar seating. there is adequate spacing between the tables. Our order was placed at 6:45pm. One of my boys got chicken tenders and fries while the other got a cheeseburger and fries. I got teriyaki bbq wings to start. At 6:55pm, I ordered my meal. I got the patty melt without the garlic mayo and sweet potatoes fries. The first set of food came at 6:59pm, which was the wings and the kid's food. They enjoyed their food. The wings were crispy and delicious. I did notice that majority of the wings didn't have sauce on one side of them. However, there was a pool of sauce at the bottom of the container when the wings were finished. I really enjoyed them. I received my patty melt and sweet potato fries at 7:20pm. The fries came out with a sweet sauce (vanilla, Carmel, bourbon, and honey). I feel the honey was overpowering the other flavors, which I didn't like. The fries tasted fine by themselves. I have mixed feelings about the patty melt. It wasn't nasty but wasn't the best I ever had. I'd probably try a different burger, if I return. Our waiter was Kyle. I overheard him tell another table, but he didn't tell us that when he sat us or began serving us. Overall, good experience. I would return. I observed great team work with the staff regarding seating guest and running out food. It stayed consistent with guest. As guest left, more came. It was never completely full, however. When we left, it was dark. They have a light on the side of the building which keeps the parking light lit, which is awesome!

A stomach ache & 2.5 hours of my life I can't get back....This poor staff. We were greeted with "it's gonna be at least 30 minutes" just after 8pm on a non holiday Monday. There were at least 3 open & dirty tables. We observed 3 FOH staff in a room that seats around 60 guests (& a patio with tables). The couple that walked in immediately after us discussed for a minute and left. It seemed like that was what the staff wanted- for people to just go away. I'm not sure why else you'd greet people that way. Being from out of town, as many of your patrons probably are, we heard good things and were excited to try Barrel17. In fact, we looked forward to it all day. I looked at the clock when I sat down to wait: 8:09pm. Around 8:30, we timidly approached 3 newly opened spots at the bar. Perhaps that would be a relief to the over extended staff- us coming to them. Instead, the bar top remained filled with dirty dishes and not wiped down for several minutes. I got up and got my own white towel to wipe down our spot sometime after she took an appetizer order. I get it- "slammed," "never seen it this bad," "this is so bad." --these were all phrases from our bartenders mouth the entire time we were there.She was right. It took about 45 minutes for some friend pickles and pimento to arrive. With one ranch. One ranch for a basket of fried items. Being thankful we had something after being out walking all day, we quickly dug in. Do yourself a favor and skip this app! She asked us if we wanted more food as she stood at the computer to simultaneously ring it in versus taking the order with us and walking over to ring it in. Not being familiar with your service standards, it seems a little obnoxious to shout your order to someone, but here we are. Relieved (again) to have entrees working, we had the next hour to observe nothing coming out of the kitchen window. People were closing out, staff was eating, & even getting cut while we waited more than an hour for the entrees. Having ignored the red flags from the start, we wanted to see this sh** storm through. It was a stressful and scary movie we got a front row seat to. At least we had iced tea to keep us hydrated right? Wrong. She ran out of unsweetened tea on our first cups. I was given a partial cup and she said she'd brew more. No such luck. After the salty app, I was desperate. I asked for sweet or really anything she had. It was too sweet (and it isn't really what I wanted) so I got a water, finally. Those iced teas were still on the check...The staff stood staring at the 2 lone kitchen guys just praying for anything to come up. Based on what I saw, there was one togo order, a four top, and our 3 top still (STILL) waiting on food. It's 9:35 now. In her defense, she never lied that it was going to be a wait!Our food comes up one by one, she auctions it off to us. My HAWAIIAN burger was missing the pineapple. She asked for it on the side a few moments later. The other entrees hit, we feverishly dig in. I had a side of Mac and cheese that never came out. She confirmed that she'd rang it in and shouted to the kitchen "CANCEL THE MAC. YOU OBVIOUSLY NEVER MADE IT." It was true, we didn't want to wait a second longer and they couldn't execute one non modified ticket at that point. There was an employee sitting at the bar this whole time. The bartender shared her frustration with him and he went back to seemingly help for one ticket. Then took his place back at the bar and ordered his own food. This was much more a local hang out than a place vying for new business. They couldn't handle the business they had. Instead of damage control, all 3 FOH staff gathered at the window in constant group prayer that food would be made. For most of our visit. Granted, the 3 souls there shouldn't be expected to act as managers and wait on the tables, but geez. She could've small talked a little to take our mind off the 2 hour wait. My goal here is to alert the OWNER that you have BIG ISSUES. You need more staff and functional staff. Let me reiterate the NON HOLIDAY MONDAY night where this place was in actual flames, yall.

We have been eating at Barrel 17 for years. We eat out all over town and the service and food is always top notch here. Went last night and our server Anna was fantastic. The food is so good we forgot to photograph our burger and steak subs because we jumped right in and devoured them (well...the subs were so packed with steak we had to bring 1/2 home for lunch today!) It's a relaxed and wonderful environment Plenty of parking right outside. Once you try it out...it will be a "must return soon" go-to.

The food was excellent, but the service was horrible I felt so disregarded when I sat down at the bar and bartender looked me right in the eyes then walked away! I had to ask can I place a order. His treated me differently than the white family that came in right after me. His was definitely prejudice towards black people, It's a shame!
