Barrel 17 is an amazing craft burger bar in downtown Norfolk. They offer a variety of different high quality burger options that include a mix of various types of beef. The service we received was amazing. The bar area is nice and offers coors banquet on draft! Definitely worth a visit if you want a high quality burger. Try their sweet fries with their special sauce!

Great bar service with a fun atmosphere for a Saturday night. The food was amazing. I got the double bacon cheeseburger and my fiancé ordered the BLT hotdog (which was fantastic). The pimento cheese and fried pickle appetizer was to die for and I will definitely be ordering that again. I had asked what drinks they were known for and the bartender said she makes a mean PB&J old-fashioned which spiked my curiosity. I ended up ordering two of them lol. Over a great experience and i'll definitely be coming back!

Solid 4.5 overall. Hidden gem in old Mermaid Winery spot. Enticing menu, majoring in burgers, at reasonable prices with fare from other local spots (Flippin Hangry's lumpia, Azar's hummus plate, etc). Fried pickles and pimento cheese basket ($9, 4.5/5 stats) kicked off our meal - and WOW! Lava hot but fried heaven; it's heavy, you've been warned. Server/bartender was classic Norfolk: loud, boisterous, sassy but sweet. Mezcal old fashion (4.5/5 stars) and cherry limeade (4/5 stars) bevs were delicious. GOAT burger ($15, 5/5 stars) was all-around spectacular; ingredients, texture, temperature, and taste. Sugar crusted Sweet potato fries ($1 upcharge) came with house made dip sauce that was a nice compliment. Wife enjoyed her large portion Steak salad. Open seating in large indoor dining room oriented around the bar. Wall mounted HDTVs throughout. Outdoor patio also available. Gender specific restrooms onsite; shared parking lot.Solid 4.5 overall. Looking for lunch last Friday and thanks to Yelp, we found this hidden gem! It's in a beautiful location, but not visible from the street. Look it up and. Heck if out - you won't be disappointed. The menu is straight forward pub kind of fare. We started with the soft pretzel, because that's what we do when there's one on the menu. It came out soft and hot with mustard and a cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was done well, definitely not canned nacho cheese. The burgers are waygu beef and they are amazing. Cooked the way you order (mine was the perfect mid rare), there are lots of interesting creations. Since this was our first visit, I did the build your own - cheddar and pickles for me. The side salad was fresh and the blue cheese dressing had plenty of blue cheese chunks. It was the perfect size for a side. Hubby had the Philly chicken - he raved about it. Chunks of grilled chicken and plenty of cheese on a soft tasty bun. His side was tater tots, and we enjoyed them as well. They were served piping hot and well seasoned.Fast and friendly service means we have found our new go to lunch spot! We'll definitely be back.

The food was really good, and they make a great burger! Honestly one of our favorite burgers in Norfolk. Service was very friendly. Be sure to double check their hours, we tried to go 3 different times and they were closed each time despite their website (and Yelp) saying they were open. Turns out they are now closed on Sundays and they closed on Memorial Day.

Food was good. Our server Jes was totally lovely. She is a gem. Burgers were very tasty. All the fried treats were excellent. HOWEVER, they asked us for temps when we ordered and all burgers came out medium well. 3 of our 8 orders arrived incorrect and had to be either augmented or re-made. Vibe is lacking... place felt very bright and stark and sterile and lacked character. Between the lack of ambience and what seemed to be kitchen problems, I won't be rushing back. Too bad, because the food is good and servers were great.
