Baron's Pub & Restaurant

Nice ambiance! Staff is friendly. It's definitely a regulars/locals hangout place. There are some games in the corner of the pub. Looked popular! We got the Paloma drinks. The drinks were okay, tasted more like plain margaritas. Will come back to try more of the food. The fries were decent , we only got the Barons fries appetizer. The menu looked great, lots of options . I think if you're looking for a divey and local hangout this is the place. People and staff were chatty and friendly, so it was a nice social atmosphere. They seem to have a lot of daily specials and activities going on!

We were over on Portsmouth over the weekend and we decided to have lunch at Barton's Pub & Restaurant. They are conveniently located at 500 High Street in the heart of downtown Portsmouth. Barron's Pub has been around for many years, but this was my first visit. On select occasions they offer live music from some of the local talent in the area. When we arrived they were not busy and we were able to score 2 seats at the bar, our favorite perch. The bartender was handling the group seated at the bar efficiently. Our drink order came out quickly. My Wife really enjoyed her Old Fashioned. They have a decent menu with a good variety of options. My Wife had the French Dip Sandwich served with Hand Cut French Fries. She enjoyed it very much. The Roast Beef was tender and delicious. The Fries were crispy outside but meaty on the inside, a wonderful combination when you can find it. I had a Grilled Pastrami Reuben and I really enjoyed it. It was both hot and delicious. I was very surprised to find a bottle of 12 Year Old Pappy Van Winkle on the shelf. This is my Unicorn, even though I don't drink anymore. I asked how much for a pour and I was pleasantly surprised. My Wife wanted to try it so she asked for a pour. They were kind enough to let her take a picture with the bottle. I'm not sure what the rules are, so I will not reveal the price here. We really enjoyed our first visit to Barron's Pub and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Our server Chelsea was so awesome! We stopped in yesterday after the farmers market for a drink. She was attentive and friendly. We got to sit outside and enjoyed ourselves so much! We will be back! Thank you Chelsea for being great!! the two sisters

It's old yes It's Divey yes But it's great Burger burger burger !Always fresh!Who has $5 dinner salad anymore with fresh ingredients they doService Talk about team work ! Doesn't matter who your server is everyone is always checking up on uIt's dated sure some may say that but I like to think it's well maintained This is was a PUB is supposed to look like!Crowd is friendly and easy going

this review is for the Barons Pub from Bide-A-Wee golf course. They catered my son and his fiancés rehearsal dinner and it was fantastic. The entree choices were Ribeye Steak or Fried Chicken and everyone complimented on how great their meal was. The steaks were cooked to perfection. And those who got fried chicken said it was the best they ever had. The staff was great as well. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The atmosphere was a lively fun one. And the waitresses were pleasant. At lunch, the crowd seemed very much like shipyarders (loud and energetic).Ordered the she crab soup. It came with a generous sprinkling of crab meat. The taste of the soup base was relatively plain, but the contrast with the delicious crab bits was perfect. The Irish Burger had pastrami and sauerkraut topping a 1/2 pound patty. It was cooked perfectly, and tasted great. I recommend this. The accompanying fries were much like In-and-Out's.

I visited here on a rainy Saturday night for an event with the Portsmouth Humane society. There were several other locations involved along High St, but it started here at Baron's where their porch and 2 inside tables were taken over. So props to Baron's for supporting the pets in need and hosting!The only reason I docked a star here was the heat was on way too high. Everyone was hot. Otherwise this was a well managed, busy bar in the early evening on a weekend night. The staff were kind and my drink was awesome! They have awesome happy hour pricing, I literally did a double take when I got my bill. They have some of the best chicken tenders I have had in a while. With a rich batter that's tasty and not all crunch. It was easily 2 portions of chicken! Fries were awesome and sauces a-ok. Baron's is on my list of places to come back to, and I don't even live close to Portsmouth.

Barons hasn't changed a bit! Went for dinner a few nights ago after being gone from the area for about 15 years and all my old favorites were still there!!! We enjoyed the wings, a chicken quesadilla, and some cheese fries. Everything was delish!

The place was beautiful and nice. We sat downstairs and had gift baskets. Most of our party couldn't attend, so our server asked us for a gift basket, so we gave her one. We thought that was the end of it but she asked for another one. I felt like she was getting it for another server but she kept it for herself. I feel like she was being greedy. Other than that the food was good and I enjoyed myself but if I come back I hope I get another server.

The food is really good, and is only surpassed by the service of the two bartenders Shelby and Savannah. They are loads of fun to hang out with while you're enjoying your lunch at the bar. Those two girls get it done and quickly. I occasionally bring my coworkers out there to enjoy the atmosphere and fun. The food is good but it's always better when those two are serving it. If you like home cooked food I highly recommend this establishment, the daily specials are hard to beat.
