Fast, friendly, delicious, and affordable. The store was spotless, the service was great, and the food crushed the spot. And the sweet tea?! Oh, my lord baby Jesus - it's among the absolute best I've ever tasted. I don't want to be long-winded here, but I will definitely be returning.

Great food ! The brisket would have been better with no sauce. Portions a little small but who cares it was so good

We have driven by this place 100 times and finally stopped for the first time tonight. We ordered the lima bean soup to go and brought it home. It was actually delicious. The more we ate the more we loved it. They also threw in a couple of ham sandwiches... nothing fancy, but great for what they were. Great job to a little place that never got our attention before. We will be back. Hopefully they'll have our lima bean soup again!!! Two thumbs up.

Our first try for the BBQ Barn, trying to support the local businesses while the Flu_C is still active... My honey did the Monday special of chopped steak and gravy, mashed potatoes and okra... I had the brisket sandwich with slaw and okra... I have to say that the brisket was tender and in a very nice barbecue sauce, I just didn't get a bun... The sauce was not Deep South or strictly NC, nice, different... The okra got some slaw juice so it could have been a little more crunchy but it was done and standard... The hush puppies are large and fluffy... not a spectacular puppy, could have used a little minced onion IMHO... Over all, it was worth the monies and was filling... The establishment has a 100% inspection rating and the window person was very polite and asked all the questions... what else a I get you, is there anything else I can do, is that all you need... A little magic happening here, thank you Barbecue Barn we will be back!!

This place is filthy dirty. The BBQ is Carolina styled with vinegar sauce. The prices are cheap. I may go again if I feel like punishing my body with unhealthy food.

Dry chicken. Very off-putting Carolina BBQ. Service was fast but the quality of the food is not all that great at all. The fried chicken is very bland and dry. Sad to say that the KFC even has moist better fried chicken.

Stopped in to pick up a quick dinner. Got Barbeque and Fried Chicken combo $10 and change. Chicken breast was hot , moist and tender. Barbeque pulled Eastern NC with Cole slaw and Brunswick stew, 3 hush puppies. Delisious, super quick and a great value.

Everyone in NC knows that a good Bar B Q joint is housed in a building that used to be something else. This building was an old Mighty Mint back in the day. An old friend of mine hand built the wooden booths used inside. The food here is reasonable and fast. The BBQ can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's great and others just OK. The slaw is just cabbage and mayo, nothing else. Good portions of food and the chicken pot pie on Wednesdays is very popular. They are closed Sunday & Monday.

If you are looking for the Ritz, keep driving. If you want some of the best NC style barbecue, then eat here! This is the best I have found. The slaw is excellent and minced, which is perfect for the sandwiches. A great hole in the wall. Only down side is the only take cash...

Loved it when it was open. Sadly the building was torn down and they are no longer in business.
