I was looking for an alternative park to take Hendrix because there was a festival at our usual dog run. After lots of research we found Ballentine Park in Norfolk. There is a small and large dog area with a separation fence. Two water stations, with bowls and poop bags are provided. Multiple areas for humans to sit and a small pool for the little dogs. It was very cute. There is lots of on street parking, you can park directly in front and unload you pooch. One thing I noticed that made this park different was the dog parents. They all monitored their dogs to ensure they were behaving properly. And I mean EVERY SINGLE DOG PARENT!!Before entering with her 4 large dogs, a lady actually told a young man who was already in there with his dog how many pups she was bringing in and their temperament. Very considerate. Ballentine is a very nice dog park with considerate patrons. We will be back!

Very lovely dog park. There's 2 sections of the park. 1 side for big dogs over 30 lbs with a longer run and a side for small dogs. As a small dog owner I appreciate having the separation. I've only been in the mornings so far and have used the park with 1 other owner and dog or by ourselves. It's well maintained, lots of water stations and it's a quite pretty part of the street. There's ducks and rabbits along side the water. So far this has been a great find in my new neighborhood.

Pretty small park but enough for dogs to run around a bit. Free parking on the side and water bowl provided with water but best to bring your own (:

It's a hidden gem! We recently moved to the area and were looking for a place to take our dog to let him stretch his legs and run around. This place is perfect! It's close to the family park and splash pad (a short walk) and hidden in a nice, quite neighborhood. Like States before, there's 2 sides (one for big dogs and one for small). He had a blast running around and playing ball. It's pretty well shaded for the owners with a few benches to relax. I love the fact that it's "hidden" away from busy roads. Feels like a little oasis for the dogs :)

I had no idea this was so close to my house! My dog loved it and so did my friend with her dog. It is very well kept, there is water, bowls and plenty of toys for the dogs. We will be going very often now.

I take the dogs here every chance I get. Awesome dog park. There are separate sections for dogs under 30 pounds and over 30 pounds. Water is available along with toys. It is simple and well kept. There are numerous benches and trash bins. The park is kept clean. There's not a single thing I dislike about this spot. I have not found anything better.

Until this place gets running water, they can't win over that last star. The best thing about this park is the great sense of community. The civic league is incredibly active in the care and maintenance of this park, and it is clear that this is their baby. A pretty good size, they park is split for dogs over 30lbs and under 30lbs. They have frequent meetups, and events are always welcome. This is a nice, quiet part of Norfolk, but that comes with the drawback that this park is often empty. Ideal for playdates and group pup meetups, but bring water.

This is a great little dog park! They have a side for large and small dogs. Trash and recycling bins, benches, and a box for shared toys. On-site running water and bowls. Bring your own waste clean up bags but if you forget, there are some in the mail box. The main entrance is currently under construction so the big dog area must be accessed by going through the small dog gate. I am curious as to when the park is busiest because whenever we go we are often the only ones there!

Met up with a group of folks for a Dachshund Meetup. Nice park with poop bags , trash cans, benches and shade. Not the most beautiful, but very nice for being in the middle of an older neighborhood.

Not impressed. Water knobs on small dog area , both were broken Water on other side was hot. Not hardly any benches for pet owners in shaded area. Park is very open and hot. Had to park on street and not in a parking lot. A lot of speeders flying by.
