What an incredible visit my wife and I had. You get a good feeling about a restaurant when you hear things like "That was good." I can see why this place is so popular.Sefer our server was excellent. He had served us on a prior visit and it was a nice touch that he recognized me. He's kind considerate, and gave great recommendations. I took my wife here for restaurant week and Baladi did NOT disappoint. They had a plethora of soup options and two entrée options. I ordered the chicken Shawermah and my wife ordered the same. I had the Kaila lamb soup and my wife ordered the chicken potato soup. Both of the soups were delicious, but I definitely had a preference for my wife's chicken and potato soup. It was excellent! The chicken was super tender and the taste of cardamom sent my tastebuds into ecstasy. Shortly after our soups came our entrées were on our table. I was mesmerized by the plating. I could immediately tell that the chef gave great care to the placement of each ingredient. This was the first time in a long time that I smiled after taking a bite of food. The flavors married together incredibly! The entrees came with pita bread and refills were free. The portion size was great and I was pleased that I had half to take home and enjoy. For $20 a person this is a deal that's hard to beat. This deal is a gem for restaurant week and Baladi is a gem for the Hampton Roads area. I 100% recommend!

We had family and friends in from out of town and needed a good to-go option for hosting everyone at our house and not feeling like cooking. Baladi has been in the list for months to try and we had some dietary restrictions to deal with so we thought Baladi would be a great option. My husband drove over and put our order in for about 5 entrees and several salads and side dishes and was back with everything within about 40 minutes. Actually pretty fast. We tried lamb, beef and vegetarian schwarma, some falafel, hummus, several salads and everything was wonderful and fresh. The vegetarian of our group said the hummus was the best she's ever had. And you know she's had a lot of hummus. I can't wait to come back and try this spot in person. The inside looks lovely and classy.

Pomegranate salmon NEW MENU ITEM! Absolutely fantastic. Service is amazing. The restaurant is spotless and every time we eat here it is better and more beautiful.

This was our first visit during Virginia Beach Restuarant Week. Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Great vibe. Glorious value entrees. She loved the Lentil Soup. I thought the Falafel Fish Bites appetizer was quite clever and a wonderful presentation. Very delicious. My wife absolutely loved the Moroccan Vegetable Tagine. I had the Mansaf lamb dish, which was OK. For dessert, we split the Chocolate Date pie and Date & Pistachio pie. Both were winners, light and delicious in just the right serving size. An outstanding evening meal. We will be back.

Amazing food! Awesome vibe! The restaurant is clean and designed well. Vegans are very welcome here. There's pleanty of vegan options and all that we tried are delicious! The falafel encrusted tofu (yes omg wtf) SO GOOD! That will be my go-to order. Our sever told us the falafel is made to order, fresh! The hibiscus ice tea is so refreshing (slightly sweetened). We ordered the Mezze Plater with fresh veggies instead of bread (gf option). All that is pictured was split between two people with pleanty of left overs. For dessert we got the chocolate and date pie! Incredible experience, we will definitely be back!

I came here for lunch during the week. They have good lunch specials including veggie and vegan options. I was sat right away and I absolutely loved the decor. It felt very simple and mediterranean. I think they might even have some private rooms in the back - it's open but looked like they could close the doors so you could have a private party. I had a Chicken Shawermah wrap with a cous cous salad. It tasted very fresh and authentic. I wish I had tried the hummus but I think I assumed there might be a little on the plate. Next time I will try it. Service was great and very friendly. I absolutely loved the market!!! The prices were very reasonable and such a great way to get authentic mediterranean food. I cant wait to go back and buy buy buy....you can buy all the hummus, cous cous and baba ganooj pre made it take it home. They even had a tasting section. They also had shawarma to go....chicken or lamb, fresh cheeses and lots of spices and oils. Great way to cook it authentically at home. Definitely will be back.

12/9/23 Husband and I had dinner here last night...The food was soooo good and customer service was excellent as always. I had the Red Snapper wrap with a cup Lentil soup..OMG, The spicy Red snapper wrap was EVERYTHING AND SOME ( SO MUCH FAVOR!!)...I COULD EAT THE WRAP again today...I am thinking about getting it for lunch..TODAY..ALSO, THE LEMONADE WAS DIFF ....BUT, SO DELICIOUS!!!My husband had The lamb swarmer platter....He said, the portions are huge and delicious.. Hummus was full of Garlic and flavor with fresh veggies and olives.hhhmmm soooooo good.ANOTHER EXCELLENT MEAL...KUDO TO THE CHEF AND THE STAFF !!!!

Definitely recommend! The food tasted fresh and delicious.My husband and I were very excited to try the food at Baladi and were happy that they had so many vegan and vegetarian options. We were especially excited about the vegan baklava! I love baklava, but haven't been able to enjoy it since I developed a dairy allergy 10 years ago. My husband has an allergy to honey, so he usually can't enjoy baklava either because of the honey present. However, this restaurant makes an almond vegan baklava option that uses organic syrup and no butter. The baklava was warm, nutty, sweet and delicious.For my dinner, I ordered the Falafel supreme wrap with basmati rice on the side. The basmati rice was seasoned with saffron, cinnamon, and golden raisins. This is a combination that I haven't tried before, but it was very tasty and I really enjoyed it. The falafel supreme wrap tasted super fresh and flavorful. Our server Seren was wonderful and checked in on us often to make sure that we were enjoying our meals and had everything that we needed.The Arabic music playing in the restaurant was a vibe! I pulled out my phone out to Shazam the songs and will be adding them to my playlist! I also loved the decor! My grandfather is Palestinian, and some of the decor reminded me of my visits to my grandfather's home, where he had a lot of Arabic and Palestinian decor on the walls. In addition to cozy booths inside the restaurant, I saw that intimate outdoor seating is available as well.It was very busy, even though we went towards the end of the evening and we understand why! We are definitely going to frequent this restaurant. It's far from where my husband and I live but it's worth the drive for special occasions and special date nights. We had a wonderful experience.

Baladi's food is so good. It's probably my favorite Restaurant in VB. However, their service is terrible. They moved our table, I had to go look for my own silverware & pen to sign my check. Just generally not attentive. Very disappointed.
