Backstreet Crabs

My husband wanted to try them out on Father's Day since we are new to the area and he loves seafood. While I cannot say the same, I still like fish, so we gave it a whirl. My husband was pretty satisfied with his catfish. I found my fish to be a bit too fishy and had to spit it out halfway through. My husband even said mine tasted too fishy for his liking as well and couldn't finish it. He ordered the catfish and enjoyed that.I think the serving sizes were a little disappointing for the price. Upon arrival, my husband found that they were not yet open, despite their hours stating they would be. Eventually, when they let him in around 20 min later, it seemed like the staff was not anticipating a customer walking in, and they explained that getting their food truck ready was their top priority. It was a disappointing experience, since it was Father's Day and he was really looking forward to trying this place out for his Father's Day lunch and it wasn't the best experience.He did enjoy the food and said he'd order it again for himself, but from the food truck next time because it seems maybe those customers might have better experiences.Personally, I would not return.

This is a great review I saw from back home ! BackstreetCrabs in Franklin. I had heard the food was great, but had seen other not so nice reviews as well (you never know until you try it though). Ill try to give y'all a good honest opinion of the restaurant and food.I had seen the shrimp and crab philly posted on this page and thought "I've got to try that, I've never had any sandwich like that before." Well today was the day. I placed my order over the phone and the young lady who answered was very nice, (the ticket had the name Destiny on it). She answered all my questions and took my order without any issues. When I got to backstreet crabs I observed the gentleman cooking wearing gloves, a head covering, and a beard net. The young lady was helping some other customers and bagging up their order. She told me they were working on my order and I could go ahead and grab my drink (cooler with bottles and cans located in the customer seating area).When my order was ready it was boxed up and shown to me to make sure it was what I had asked for. Everything looked and smelled good. Staff was very friendly the entire time. Here's the pros of the meal: It was delicious! Piled high with filling and very flavorful. There were whole shrimp, not pieces. I think around 6 good size shrimp in the sandwich. There was so much filling I had to take a layer off the top. Fries were cooked perfectly as well.The only negative thing I have to say about the whole experience was that the sandwich was very wet, so the bread got soggy fast. Did that stop me from eating it, Nope. It was still delicious. I did end up taking the filling out of the bread once it was too soggy for my liking and just eating the filling. Just FYI if you plan to order over the phone you will need to pay with card while you are on the phone, but it wasn't a surprise, she did tell me when I asked to place a to go order.I'll definitely go back again, I've got my eye on the crab cake sandwich for next time or maybe some wings.Love to help local hometown!

Thought we would try it. Our fish sandwiches had skin and tiny bones. Onion rings were so greasy, had to toss them. Cole slaw tasted like it came from the grocery store next store. It was not homemade. Well we gave it a shot.

Stopped by to try it based on some reviews I saw on Facebook. Was given some recommendations including the fried shrimp with honey garlic. Food was fresh and delicious. Lots of little subtle details that show they are passionate about seafood. Franklin has a little gem of a restaurant here. Took off one star because I didn't care for the coleslaw, but everything else was great.
