Still an awesome place to pick up seafood. Service still just as friendly. They have steamer buckets too. Just order a day ahead. They also serve lunch plates and sandwiches. The fish and shrimp are so fresh. Love this place.

I grew up coming to the Outer Banks every summer, and Austin's has always been a reliable staple of our vacation here. They offer cooked/fried takeout, but my favorite part is the fresh fish that you can buy and take home to cook yourself. The fish is super fresh and most of the varieties they sell are local. Among the local varieties are tuna, flounder, grouper, wahoo, shark, shrimp, and so much more, and they also have a few types a fish that aren't local to the area such as salmon and cod. They also have crab meat there, and my favorite is the jumbo lump crab. That quality of crab comes with a high price tag, as it will anywhere, but it is highly worth it! They also have various items for sale that you can use to prepare the fish, such as lemons and high-quality marinades. The staff is also very helpful in that they will recommend different ways of cooking and preparing the various fish types. Austin's opens at 9:00 a.m. and they close at 6:00 in the evening. I'd also recommend going Tuesday through Friday, as the selection seems to be a bit better. I don't have confirmation on this but I don't think the fishermen go out on the weekends, so therefore the selection Saturday-Monday isn't quite as robust. To top it all off, though this is technically a separate business from Austin's, there is a fresh produce stand set up in their parking lot. They have local fruits and vegetables such as peppers, potatoes, butter beans, blueberries, & strawberries, as well as some delicious and unique jams and jellies. If you're in the Outer Banks, I highly recommend a trip to Austin's for some exquisite, local fresh fish!

While on the OBX we stopped in to Austin Fish for lunch at the recommendation of a friend who lives here. We tried the crab cake sandwich, the grouper fingers with Mac n cheese and coleslaw, and the gumbo. Everything was tasty. Not the best grab and go lunch we had on the OBX, but definitely decent and we would go back!

We pick up our seafood from here every summer on vacation. Always great. This summer we initially went to a different place because it was more convenient. My whole family said that it was not as good as Austin. Two nights later, we went back to Austin and it was great as usual.

We drive by here quite a bit but never stop in. We came for lunch. There were dining tables outside. Ordered the soup of t ge day, grouper fingers, fried flounder, fried oysters, bbq plate, and fried flounder flounder. You order inside. We sat outside and had our lunch. It was the freshest flavorful and delicious. We will be coming back. Friendly folks, the service was great.

KILL DEVIL HILLS, NC / SEAFOOD / 10-02-21 / TAKE-OUT DINNER+The NC fresh, large shrimp was steamed and seasoned nicely.-The crawfish was not fresh; more than likely, frozen.-The snow crab legs were very small and dry. The quality was not that great.Stick with the local, fresh seafood offerings of the day!
