Old Hotel; good location to the beach. The hotel was very outdated/old. Not 'Resort' like at all unless you were back in the 80s when the thing was probably built. It's super close to the beach which is a plus, but the area was ghetto. The amenities were plentiful (refrigerator, microwave, cups, plates, iron), but there were no bags for trash and guests are responsible for cleaning their own trash down the 'garbage chute' luckily close to our room. Also, made coffee before checking out, and there were NO togo coffee or other cups haha! Dumped the coffee down the sink and hoped I didn't get an extra charge for leaving the grounds in the filter. The overall look of the place was like nothing had been changed/updated/replaced since the 80s. The overall carpet probably was white and blue, but now is yellow and brown lol. The staff was nice, but were all so young and really not trained in any customer service, which really spoke of the area being beach 'ghetto'. The bed was comfortable and worked for what i needed, the window pointed east so I could see the ocean from the room. Below is more of an experience with the area on Friday night, so nothing to do with the hotel itself. Definitely not a resort lol, at least not since Burt Reynolds was the 'thing' in hollywood.Friday night - After my gf and I got back to the hotel from the concert, we wanted to go grab a bite to eat and maybe a drink. When we got to the main street there was hundreds of teen - 20 year olds mulling about in party gear, looking to get into trouble. There were a couple guys with a speaker on the corner shouting obscenities and speaking all sorts of gibberish; reminded me of my days on the Tijuana, Mexico street back when I was a kid. Not family safe or ideal for having a good time as an adult in their late 20s, 30s, or 40+. The cost of the hotel was for location only. Will spend the extra $100-200 next time to stay in a better area of Virginia Beach, if there is one.D+

Recently stayed at this hotel initially I was disappointed not the room I found online. However When I spoke with GM Sean he went out of his way to accommodate us. He put us in a different room that was recently remodeled (like pic I saw on line )He never made us feel uncomfortable. Not only did he do this he gave us a refund for one night. We had issues with booking.comHe followed up with me after our stay w/o me calling him Said it was a new policy with Booking.com more complicated then just dealing with there company. He continually apologized for this and why it was taking so long We were there June 11-14 Just above and beyond his call of duty!So impressed with Sean, can't get customer service like this these days.Sean is going to go far!

HORRIBLE!!! I just got back from an awful 5 night vacation at one of the resorts... 4 rooms!!! We were moved to four different rooms because there was something wrong with each one. The first one was absolutely filthy, all of them were actually... and I mean hair, grease, rotten food smell, literal crackers and crumbs in the floor and a PILL in the floor! The second room had something constantly beeping, the third had hair on all the linens again and was still disgusting as well as the AC wasn't working properly but after getting freshER linens we settled for the night since it was so late and we had or two kids with us. The next day we were moved to the fourth room, the manager and my husband walked it together and saw how bad it was so it was cleaned before we moved there. The pool looked horrible with debris floating every day and extremely cloudy. I'm so glad we never got in, but it's unfortunate to have amenities that you can't even enjoy. Also want to mention to anyone considering this place.... Check the mattresses in the sleeper sofas. they look like they have mold on the bottom. AND to top it all off we should've been refunded for 3 nights (per the manager) which did happen BUT then a day after check out we were charged even more than what was refunded!!! What was supposed to be a $1500 trip has cost nearly $1900 when I would've never paid $500 to stay there.Being a timeshare owner through a different company as well as a former vacation rental property owner, I'm clueless how this place is even in business. Absolute shame!!

No room service unless your willing to pay extra per service, you have to take your own garbage out, the indoor pool is DISGUSTING, water pressure in the shower sucks even in the off peak hours and you can hear kids screaming non-stop during the day even in the back part of the suite. The nice things about this place is the beach is 3 blocks away, there's a small kitchen, the bedroom has a door on it, everyone who works here has been very courteous and polite.

The Atrium is a great place for a family stay. My family stayed here for a week and a half when our vacation turned into a family emergency and our mother had to spend the entirety in a hospital. The Atrium staff was entirely empathetic to our situation. They really seemed to care and want to make sure that we were taken care of. Glenda, the Manager, specifically went out of her way to make our nightmarish vacation far less terrible. The accommodations were great, especially for the price, and it's a quick walk to the boardwalk/beach/lots of restaurants. More places should be as sweet, accommodating, and human.

My husband and I stayed at the Atrium resort on the evening of 9/18. We unpacked and went to dinner. Upon our return, we found a meth pipe on the nightstand next to my side of the bed, as well as fresh blood splatter on the sheets. We were horrified, but felt there was nothing we could do at the time, as it was after midnight. We threw the pipe in the trash and removed the sheet. The next morning my husband got up early and went for a run. During that time, someone entered our room and retrieved the pipe. I was woken up by someone opening and closing doors and walking around the bed, but assumed it was my husband and turned over and fell back asleep. When I woke up the pipe was gone. Time stamps from his watch show that he was on his run during that time. We had booked another night at the hotel, but felt so unsafe that we checked out and went to another hotel. The General Manager of the hotel has been less than responsive. Initially he offered a refund for the two nights and provided a key audit of the room. He later stated that he would only refund one night and referred me to the hotel's attorney. After reviewing the key audit and comparing with time stamps from our watch activity logs/text messages/receipts, there were multiple entries into our room made by someone other than us, while we were not in the hotel. Not only is this a huge violation of privacy and grossly unsafe, but the lack of concern from the hotel makes me wonder if this is not an uncommon occurrence at this hotel. As a woman, the thought that a person was in my bedroom while I was sleeping is absolutely terrifying. I am going public with this because I don't want anyone else to have to experience anything like this.

Room is dirty, smells horrific, dont believe its safe either. No housekeeping services, cant get more towels either. Be prepared to smell like the room once you leave the place. Not worth it- lesson learned to spend a little more for a nicer place lol. Also no outside pool. Just stay away from here. No lock on door... enough said.

Spoke to "Marvin" who claimed to be the manager. He would not allow me to stay after taking my money for the room. His claim is I need to go through the third party, but was willing to take my money. He refused to allow me to stay there. He also refused to give out his last name and the owner of the "Resort". Shady business practice for sure. Avoid at ALL COST!

UPDATE: I received a call from Camille at Vacatia and my booking was cancelled and my money refunded, therefore I'm changing my review to 3 stars. She also assured me they didn't share or sell my personal information, so if it wasn't them, I don't know how it got out there. WARNING. READ BEFORE YOU BOOK!My family and I were headed to the Neptune Festival on Saturday, Oct. 1st, but unfortunately, it was cancelled due to Hurricane Ian. I called the hotel's direct line to either cancel my reservation or postpone our trip. I was told the cancellation policy for the hotel is a 48-hour notice, which I called on Tuesday so I was well outside that. She asked how I booked and I said online through their website and her tone changed. She said I booked through a company called Vacatia. One search will tell you this is a timeshare company. I had no idea, I thought I was booking through the hotel directly. This is where my nightmare began.First, they SOLD MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. Since booking, I've been getting spam calls and emails constantly and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I now know where. I intended to book a hotel and my personal information is associated with timeshares.Second, when I called Vacatia to cancel or postpone my trip, I was told it was non-refundable, even though the hotel just said you could cancel if outside 48 hours, which it was. I didn't see anything about this when booking either. I explained this was due a hurricane, but she didn't care. She said the "policy is the policy". She said I had three options-1) cancel my reservation, but I would still be charged, which I'm not sure how that helps, 2) risk my family's safety and drive to Virginia Beach in a hurricane and stay at the hotel while the storm is right outside, or 3) wait for a mandatory evaluation of the hotel, which is the only time I would be entitled to a refund. To say the least, I am shocked. I only write positive reviews about good customer experiences, but I felt compelled to warn others of my experience. Timeshares have a negative reputation of conning people out of their hard-earned money and I can see why with my experience. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU. I'm out what I paid for the room and I'm having to unsubscribe from emails and block calls constantly. The same company manages two other nearby hotels - The Ocean Sands Resort and The Ocean Key Resort. If you value good customer service and the privacy of your personal information, I would avoid these two as well. There are other more reputable hotels nearby.
