Definitely a wide selection of comics. Looks like they had every comic you can think of and then some. No Japanese mangas that I saw. They did have a calendar for events right when you walk in.

I remember playing trading card games like Magic The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh in the late 90s to early 2000s. They were the craze back then and even to this day in 2021, they still are. According to some of my shipmates, Magic The Gathering especially, has stayed strong, with a cult following and has come out with brand new versions and cards in recent years. Its safe to say the number of players of Magic The Gathering are in the millions. For me, the last time I played Magic was 2015 so its been a while. Now on my new ship, I met some sailors who have rekindled my interest in the card game. I looked around the 757 area for some good card shops, and I happened upon Atomic Comics Emporium! From the outside, doesn't look like much. Not gonna lie, my first impression pulling into the parking lot was, "what the heck is this shabby looking place?" But once I walked through the doors, I was transported to another dimension. Card games and comics galore! :O :O I legit stood there for a good 2-3 minutes, just mesmerized and honestly a little overwhelmed with my surroundings! This place puts the card shops back home in NYC to shame..LOL Glass displays everywhere with all kinds of card games, shelves of comics and other various displays. It was a Saturday, and I saw a bunch of people in the back playing in some kinda tournament. After a few minutes, I found the Magic the Gathering section, and one of the associates came and helped explain how the game has changed and what's new, and what the store has in stock. Boy how the game has changed! Totally new format with Commander decks and a myriad of new booster packs and cards to choose from. After looking over some stuff online, I finally settled with 2 booster packs, a deck and some sleeves to keep the cards in good condition. As with most other trading card games, Magic can be quite expensive and costs can easily add up. It can seem quite confusing to newcomers, and there is a learning curve, but I think it is one of the most fun trading card games. Whatever your needs, Atomic Comics Emporium has you covered! This was definitely a great find and I'll be back!

Never judge a book by its cover, or a building from its exterior. Once you walk through the door of what looks like an old warehouse for the first time, it's like a step back in time (where life was far more simple). Inside, you'll be overly impressed and somewhat overwhelmed with how the Emporium is completely packed and bursting at the seams with merchandise.Whatever you're in to, this family run store will have it. And if they haven't, they'll check their other store or gladly order it in for you. Nothing is impossible here, but it can be pricey. Saturday's are super busy, and it's so great to see people getting involved in the games in store. There is a board outside which shows the daily scheduled events for the month. If D+D, Magic or board games isn't your thing, there's even a movie night or comic club. Plus, there's a retro Pac-Man arcade machine right by the front door/exit... There's also a membership available for a small fee that will give give you a discounted amount off every purchase you make.Staff in here are so helpful and they really know their stuff. We've met the owners daughters on previous visits who work here and were so taken back at how knowledgeable they were. It's SO awesome to meet (adult) females who know their sh*t - the "nerd world" is so much more accessible because of ladies like these. So basically, I will not "return" as such, because this is now where I'm going to live out the rest of my adult years. Cool. Come visit my house sometime.

...as almost everyone has stated it looks a little shabby on the outside, but step inside and be mesmerized. It truly is an amazing place. I'm a comic book collector and was impressed with the graded and raw sections. Lots of the other stuff they sell now in these types of stores. I have one complaint. There were boxes and boxes of stuff behind glass and out of bounds for customers. I'm not one to talk to staff members unless I have to.

I really wish I lived in Virginia again. My sister told me about this beautiful comic store and I went to check it out. I was sooooooo not disappointed! It was stocked with so many comics. I didn't check it all out because I had to leave for a 9 hour drive back to CT, but they did have Xena comics. Even a kids comics section. Got a Star Trek vs Transformer comic for my daughter. I can't wait to read it to her.And I can't wait to read my Xena comics. I'm so fricken happy. When I'm in the area again, I'll definitely be coming down here. Next time really check out all the comics they got.

From board games to toys to comics. This place has it all, they even added some arcade machines to boost the fun. If you are new at collecting comics or a long time pro like me this place has it all. If they don't have they probably have it at one of their other locations. What an excellent toy collection, the vintage Star Wars just brings the kid out of me and out of my wallet. The prices are reasonable and you can't find it cheaper anywhere else.Really love the staff, I have zero complaints.I say visit this place just to look around, there is something for everyone, trust me.5/5

From the outside, it looks a bit abandoned and the windows are painted over with an old mural, so it feels like a gamble going inside. So much room dedicated to gaming! Shabby around the edges, as one expects from hobby shops and bookstores. There's that continual project, mismatched display setup that is common to many used bookstores and comic shops. It's pretty easy to determine different sections. Displays could use some love but I didn't notice anything suffering for want of protection. Lots of old comic stock, if you are interested in DC or Marvel. The Indies were not much represented as far as I saw, except in trades. There are tons of figurines, minis, and collectables. There is a main area to the right with gaming tables, though there are standalone tables in other sections. The proprietors were around, helpful, but not hovering even though we were the only visitors at the time.In short, well worth a visit. There is a calendar of events and releases posted by the front door. It's not in pristine condition, but it's certainly not dilapidated or scary like some shops are. I hope to be able to go to one of the events sometime soon.

Was in there to try and trade some japanese pokemon cards. After being told i had to wait for any of the managers to be working. I finally came in and found one.Upon asking to see if i could trade them, i was told that i could not trade them due to it taking too much time to price them. Note there were only 30 cards in total. Then proceeded to be asked what i wanted to trade for anyways, in a demeaning tone. He wasnt very nice or patient, as i've never traded in cards before, then tried to start an argument with me on how the cards could be priced and bought at one price, could be turned aroundand sold for cheaper ( but thats the nature for both american and japanese ) I was a constant customer but i think ill take my buisness elsewhere sadly.
