Aromas 1781 Cafe

This little eatery, more of a snack bar than anything, really, is located inside the entrance of the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. It has nice areas to sit and enjoy a coffee or a smoothie. The prices are tourist prices so higher than I would like. But the peach, pear apricot smoothie is practically unparalleled. The food offerings are scant. Pre-made sandwiches and wraps in a cold case, baked goods like muffins and scones are prewrapped to grab and go. Most of the food offerings are what I would expect to grab in a convenience store. Still having something on site to grab a bite is very nice, because otherwise you have to drive into town. I think if the place gets enough customer traffic maybe they will expand their offerings. Right now they get 4 stars for the flavor combinations in that smoothie which I ended up sharing with 3 other family members!

I cannot speak for the food because I got irritated with the experience on the phone trying to place a Togo order. #1 having phone etiquette while working in a restaurant. I called the young lady answered the phone and said just hello. I had to inquire if this was aromas because she answered it like it was her personal phone with no intel with the business I called. Then I asked am u able to place a Togo order she says I guess you can. That was strike 2 for me. I still proceeded and attempted to place a to go order and asked for the James River. She said and what is that a drink or food. At that point it was strike 3. This business will not be successful with employees like that. The menu and website looked amazing I could not get past the phone experience

They frequently do not check on their milk and I have had expired milk in my coffee, I had horrible stomach issues after purchasing a latte and a sandwich here. The sandwiches and snacks looked expired. The manager was in the store, and she was short with an employee, the barista with the purple hair was very rude during our transaction. Do NOT eat here!
