Awesome store for all your swimming needs especially for all the local swim teams. I was here to get my kid some swim gear for her swim team. We received great customer service. The young lady helping us was very patient and answered all of our questions. She was the only person running the store on Saturday morning as traffic kept coming in. However, we got all the helped we needed. Also, the store is super clean inside. They had a great selection of things. You can even order on their website which makes it convenient. Check them out for your swim gear.

Great customer service, the staff are helpful. My granddaughter is on a local swim team and every time I go in the staff assist us with the require items. Easy access to the location. I'm glad that I found this establishment for her swimming needs.

Where else in Norfolk can you find competition swim suits, swim cap, goggles, kick boards, fins and all the fun swimming accessories under one roof. Locally owned and operated by Tom Gill who is very active in the swimming community in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Customer service is top notch and the sales floor is well organized and clean. They carry most brand names such as Speedo, TYR and Dolfin. During the Summer months the store is fully stocked and inventory does diminish somewhat in the off season, however they can always order anything that may not be in stock. Watch out for holiday sales through their customer email list. They also provide a club swimming discount on selected items. Parking at times cannot be obtained directly in front of the store, but I have never had a time where a spot cannot be found in this strip store area. Aquawear is located on the Norfolk/Virginia Beach border. For those interested in club (all year around) swimming they usually have booklets in the store from the various teams. They also have the supply list of the club team which make it easy to get what you need to start the Fall season. Discounts for club team on certain items are really terrific too!Aquawear is working on launching an online store as well, look for it in the near future. If your trying to stay local this is a great shop.

The store is hard to find - even on my GPS it did not show up. Once I finally found it (off of 264 exit 15 - if going West) at stoplight there is a plaza in front of you and it is in the plaza. The store itself has a huge selection of just about anything you could need for swimming. I was very impressed with the selection and how quickly I was able to find the fins that I was looking for. I would definitely make this my go-to store for all my swimming needs. Thank you for the great customer service. I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me their products. They answered all my questions and then some. Lots of parking available in the plaza.

After living in SoFla for the first 30 years of my life, I decide to move to VA and finally try to learn how to swim... in February. The one bathing suit that I own and pull out once every two-three years is missing. After the first session wearing a sports bra and biking shorts, I turned to our local expert. If JD can't direct me to a suit, then it just can't be found in Hampton Roads! Not only did he know of a place, it just happened to be a 5-star experience!I opened the door and kind of froze when I saw the racks upon racks upon racks of swimsuits. To be honest, I was overwhelmed and intimidated and had to fight the urge to leave (anything related to swimming doesn't mesh well with me). But after taking a deep breath and letting the calm blue walls work their color magic on me, I was able to take a few steps in to the back of the store. From there, I took a slower, less frantic look around. I saw racks that were arranged by bust size and racks that were arranged by dress size. Simple enough. Since I'm new to this and had never even seen suits in busy sizes, I'm going with the dress-sized ones. Tom, the owner, came over to help me and confirmed that I was looking at the right suits for what I wanted to accomplish. He helped me pick out a couple more to try on. Honestly, that's unheard of for me. I don't do swimsuits. I've before never seen an array of suits that had more than 2 that caught my eye. Choices upon choices upon choices! And accessories, to boot! Sexy swim goggles and those super drying foam-like towels, lotions and ear plugs and webbed finger thingies. *lol* A lot of cool stuff for all levels of swimmer. The place was spotless, too. The fitting rooms are spacious. I have no complaints, only praise. But above all else, especially with me being so skittish, Tom's demeanor, helpfulness, pleasant disposition, expertise without condescension... It made all the difference in the world to me. Either way, I was coming out with a swimsuit. But I had no intention of being happy about it. That pleasant turn of events, I owe to Tom. I will be back & I will tell others about this gem of a store!

So disappointed with the customer service! I rushed home from work to take my daughter to get new suits. We pulled up at 5:45pm and the lights were off. I had just double checked it closed at 6 so we walked up to and the door was locked. There was a young girl sitting in the dark, I motioned to her and pointed to the sign on the door and my watch. She saw us but then wouldn't make eye contact, grabbed her stuff and walked to the back of the store completely ignoring us! My daughter was so sad because she had been waiting all week to go. I'm so disappointed in the lack of customer service the girl working gave. It was bad enough she had turned the lights off and locked the door 15 mins early but then when she saw me and I tried to get her to open the door she completely ignored me! So rude!
