Valentines Day special with a 14oz Ribeye steak, risotto and broccolini followed by bread pudding for dessert.Oh my god... WOW! Steak is always the best in Smithfield, it's crazy how many people don't know it's on the menu. The broccolini and risotto were incredible--never had risotto before. Creamy and cheesy, just right.Head Chef Paul put everything together as the special tonight.I normally avoid bread pudding because most places make it mushy--not here! Ate every bite. Best bread pudding ever.

Nice quaint Italian restaurant with the red and white checkered tablecloths down to a huge menu from pizza's, subs, pasta, lasagna to veal and chicken dishes. Service is excellent, friendly and helpful. We had a large party of 7 with a toddler, they don't take reservations but they quickly put 3 tables together for us and sat us. Menu options range from pasta's (linguine and clams to lasagna), Stromboli/Calzones, subs/sandwiches to chicken and veal dishes. I had the eggplant Parmesan, delicious creamy eggplant, rich marinara sauce over spaghetti, huge portion. Hubs had the Stromboli, had to take half home. Others had the veal parmigiana, lasagna all were delicious. Nice wine list too. The pizzas looked amazing too, no room for dessert!

I saw all these great reviews of this place so I tried it tonight. I guess they forgot the flavor because this stuff is bad. You can taste the metal from the can in the tomato sauce, the noodles are well overcooked, and chicken is flavorless.

Well we have eaten here often over the years and decided we should leave a review. I will say this - we have had very good meals and service ever time we've been here. Our latest visit I had what I normally have, pepperoni stromboli and it was very good. Now my wifey goes back and forth on a couple different things but her favorite is Penne Chicken Pesto dish. It has a really good flavor and I find myself begging for a roll dipped in the pesto sauce. As for the servers - I wish I could remember the ladies names that have served us but I can't. What I can say is they have always be attentive to us and often check on us. So if you're visiting the area or are a local - stop in and enjoy your meal.

Excellent food, always fresh, abundance of food to take home. Usually friendly staff. Always a crowd. They have the usuals that have been going for decades.

Still a very good pizza and sub shop, closest to NYC pizza you can find around Smithfield. Skip getting a meal, it's not some high class Italian Restaurant. If you are looking for that go to Luce in Norfolk, it's about the best Italian in Hampton Roads. If you want a great pie or sub you are in the right place!

My wife and I have lived in Smithfield for over a year now and we finally got a chance to try Anna's for the first time and we are so glad we did! The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the restaurant itself was clean and very homey feeling. We will definitely be going back in the future.

I really wanted to like this place based on previous reviews I read online. Unfortunately, that did not happen. We picked up dinner here tonight, and it was a complete disappointment. We ordered 3 pasta dishes, a personal cheese pizza, and a tiramisu. The pizza and dessert weren't great but definitely weren't bad. The pasta dishes, however, were very flavorless. No one wanted anymore of their pasta after a few bites. I called the restaurant to give them a courtesy and let them know that something may not be right with their food tonight. I was told that they have 2 new cooks that started a couple of weeks ago. The woman on the phone told me there is nothing she can do as there was no manager or owner there tonight. I don't know if the cooks are just having an off night or don't know what they are doing, but I sure hope the owner tastes what they are producing because it is not good. I hate that we spent almost $80 but lesson learned.

fodd (pasta) is great, the workers ar cold and nonchalant, did not thank us or say anything when they forgot an item in order, had to go back to get it, money is tight and we do not want to spend it on unappreciative workers. There are many who need jobs and would be appologetic and kind instead of being told "Oh" when prompted about item left out. Why are they so cold and uncaring?
