Anna's Pizza

One of my all time favorite restaurants and so happy they have not changed. Subs are one of a kind and highly recommended

SLICE & PEPSI REVIEWLocated between the two Design & Consign stores on Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, VA, Anna's Pizza pizzeria was in the perfect spot to deal with my hunger pangs after the walkabout in the antique and estate sale emporiums. You could call it the "luck of the draw," but Anna's was owned/operated by a Brooklyn, NY, native who had pizza making in his DNA. I asked for a regular slice of pie with added mushrooms, reheated to well done finish, and a Diet Pepsi. That is exactly what was served me by Martina, the friendly server. The crust was thin with good char on the undercarriage; fresh shrooms and a satisfying 'snap' with each bite. The tomato sauce was slightly sweet and the mozzarella counterpointedly salty, for compelling balanced flavors. This was an excellent reheater. As we cashed out, I complimented the dude at the register, telling him I was from Washington Heights, Manhattan, and his tomato pie tasted like real Big Apple pizza. He smiled proudly, and said, "I'm from Brooklyn..." 'Nuff said! I just shook his hand. "Thank you, brother!"

One thing about Anna's is as soon as you walk it in smells delicious. I love the smell of pizza so it's definitely going to give fresh pizza smells. The bread with my spaghetti carbonara was DELICIOUS. It absolutely stole the show. My friend and I were in a rush during our lunch break and our waitress was SUPER accommodating. Loved that! Unfortunately they were out of garlic knots...at 12pm on a Thursday. Definitely not the best look. The carbonara was okay as well. Nothing super exciting but as I mentioned the bread was delicious.

40 plus years__ The pizza here used to be fresh, crispy and only used the best ingredients. We used to eat in a couple times a month and have carry out (pizza or subs) as often as once a week. The pizza today is good, but has lost its zip for us relative the ingredients and quality of the crust. We rarely eat there anymore and only get subs on occasion.. Maybe once a month or so. While not convenient for carryout, we now drive to Denbigh for sit down eat in pizza. No names cause not trying to promote another place. Just hoping Anna's turns this around..

A Hilton staple from my youth. Always try to swing in when we come to Newport News. Pepperoni pizza is outstanding and my family's go to is the Steak and Cheese subs. Staff were super friendly and happy to make the to go order on this bleak rainy day. Anna's Pizza

Good service. Friendly people. I haven't ate anything else here but the cheese pizza. I'll usually get a cheese slice or a whole pizza. I've been eating here for years and I'm not the only one. My family enjoys it too!

One of my favorite places to eat Pizza. New York style Pizza that is served quickly.i have eaten here since the seventies and is still the same.

Anna's is one of my favorite local pizza shops. The pizza is always good and cheesy. The service is fairly good and we never wait long for our pizza to be made. I've always gotten taken but when I have arrived to pick up my order the place looks clean. I've never been disappointed from a slice of pizza from them. The crust is always light and fluffy! Anna's pizza is a true 5/5 pizza restaurant.

Is it too much to ask that you put all the ingredients in the dish on the menu! My fav is the chicken cacciatore and it does not list olives or mushrooms in the dish. So I asked if they could not put them in since I have weird allergic reactions to mushrooms and hate the taste of olives. Was told to eat the dish as is or don't eat it at all by male person on the phone. The men in the restaurant are so so so rude and just don't care about customer service at all! Don't ask about allergies if you are not willing to do anything about them with you food and put all ingredients on the menu if you are going to serve the food, that's false advertising of your food!

I usually love Anna's and their delivery but got cheeseburgers and fries tonight but don't know what seasoning they put on burgers but could smell it everywhere and don't like it at all. Just want a good beef burger cooked on grill no seasoning needed. Really disappointed. Threw them away.
