This place is a fraud!! The way they run their business and make money is unbelievable. They sell it to you as non-refundable and it doesn't show you have to pay deposit until you complete the booking. And then after the check out they might charge you for the whole deposit ($250 or more) even if the slightest thing goes wrong. We tried to keep the place very clean and tidy, but they still charged us for $252 after we checked out, saying there has been a stain on one of the bed sheets!!! And when we tried to contact them regarding the situation, they totally ignored our calls and emails. Truly the worst costumer treatment we have ever received!!!

Evicted for not knowing she had to add the names of people instead of just saying how many were staying. While on the beach my friend's (that I was staying with), son in law went back to the room but as he was going to put the key in the door the owner took it from him and told him to leave before he calls the police. The son in law came to the beach to let us know what was going on. We had to leave the place he refused to give back the money for the two days we were not allowed to stay and the deposit. Perfectly clean. We left in such a rush two of my outfits were left. Management claims they were not there. I know for fact exactly where they were. Apparently there was a sign on the wall stating rules that we didn't see cause so many people were having around the office. Severally hurting my back trying to rush while the police and tow truck waited for us.

Worst place to stay at ever!! They are extremely rude and very hard to communicate with. While we were staying there we definitely experienced racial profiling!! Making accusations, racism, and receiving rudeness from the owners. On top of that you have to pay fees that aren't listed beforehand. They take a deposit and it takes forever to reach your account and they won't care if you ask for how long! I received my deposit and then they proceeded to take it back out of my bank account again! I tried to reach out to them but they hung up on my face! Which proceeded to them never answering again! JUST KNOW I HAVE A CASE BUILDING FOR FRAUD AS WE SPEAK! Do not trust these people. They are mischievous and very, very rude. THEY DESERVE NO STARS.

Angie's Guest Cottage is my go-to place to stay when visiting Virginia Beach. It's very close to pretty much everything you would need. The owner and receptionist are wonderful! They work with you on any issues you may have. We have stayed in both the one bed with twin bunk, and the king suite. They are both like efficiencies and have their own mini fridge/kitchenette!! This past summer our family went with us and they accommodated them and even switched rooms on short notice. I cannot say enough good things about this place. One thing I will advise-NEVER book through their website. I've used Hotels.com & Booking.com to book the rooms to get the best rate. You will have to pay a $100 refundable deposit upon arrival, but this is only to ensure your liability in case something were to happen. We've never had any issues with getting our deposit back, and we've been more than happy with all of our experiences. We won't stay anywhere else! It's a non-smoking property but this wasn't an issue for us. We enjoyed our vacation much more knowing we were able to stay in a clean, friendly "hostel." We will return again and again and I continue to recommend them to everyone! ***The attached photos are NOT mine. I found out on arrival that it was an extra $100 deposit, for key, and parking pass, and that it would be returned at checkout. I checked out on Sunday, and it's now Thursday. I was told that it would take 48 hrs to return my deposit. I FINALLY got through on the phone today. The lady was extremely RUDE, and had terrible customer service. She told me that my deposit return was processed yesterday.(Wednesday). When I asked why there was such a delay, she said "Because there was." I again asked why it took so long, since they've had the key and parking pass since Sunday morning. "Because we just checked and cleaned the room yesterday." Everything she said to me, was with complete attitude and disregard for customer service. When I left, I had plans to come back again. At this point... I would rather stay at Motel 6. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Not satisfied with the price, I did a late booking because I had business here. I expected a decent deal but I was charged an extra hundred still not at sure why. The facility the room is nice the shower sprays water everywhere because there is cheap shower curtain, the facility is equipped with a coffee maker but no coffee I could have gone to a more expensive room in fact the Hilton for $240 last night instead I was sleeping on a king size bed that had very used mattress on top and no shampoo and conditioner also with a room the size I could have fit 5 people here and I wouldn't have had extra towels because there were only two sets. The fact that it's conveniently located is the only reason that I'm even giving it a three

This is your best bet for cheap accommodations on the beach. $20 gets you one of their 34 bunk beds one block from one of the prettier beaches in what I fondly call Vah-Bizzle.The best feature of the hostel is the rear courtyard. It's got a big patio, shady trees, a hammock, bbq, chairs to sun bathe in, and a ping pong table. There's boogie boards you can borrow, a kitchen, outdoor shower, and coin laundry too. There's a few things that could be better though. I'm used to European hostels which offer a little less in terms of rules and have bars on site.This place has a 2 night minimum, no unregistered guests allowed on the property (meaning you can't have a friend over to hangout in the yard with you), the kitchen is locked after 8:30pm (boo!), and worst of all no alcohol (double boo!). This place would be perfect if you could sit with one of the those miller lime things in the hammock, munching on chips from the kitchen at 9pm.That said, it's cheap, near the beach, and friendly. I'd recommend it to anyone.

This place is TRASH! DO NOT STAY HERE! The worst customer service!! I will be posting my horrible experience on every platform to make sure everyone knows what garbage Angie's cottage and staff is! We had a death in the family , reached out to get assistance and did not receive any help, did not receive any options to change reservation dates, even though they clearly state you can change your reservation 7 or more days prior and reschedule once. Since this pathetic excuse of a manager refused to help me I cancelled this reservation and will not do business with the likes of this hell hole! I hope your business fails miserably just like your staff!

Disgusting. If I could give zero stars for Angie's cottage, I would. Despite the already awful reviews Angie Cottage has, I went against my better judgement to stay at this sorry excuse for a business. First, dirty. A very dirty facility. Second, the communication to discuss my unhappiness with the cleanliness with the manager was as if speaking with an uneducated high school dropout. The manager was very rude and dismissed my concerns while rolling his eyes like a 16 year old girl. We also noticed additional charges added to our room that were NOT listed beforehand. I have a current dispute against this location based on these additional charges. Stay away from Angie's Cottage!
