This place is a real hidden gem! Walked in off the street with my girlfriends and had an awesome time browsing the home and garden wares inside. Reasonable prices and some really nice decorative garden items. They have some indoor decor stuff: mercury glass and florals and planters but a lot of the stuff is outdoor planter pots and aged metal decor items. In the back there is a beautiful garden and an event space for photos or parties or weddings. We talked to the owner for a while who was very friendly and said they he had redone the event space in the back and set it up for parties and such. I saw a few things that looked great for my backyard when I'm ready to accessorize it. I'll be back!

Omg I am obsessed with this place. It is now a "must stop" when I'm in Portsmouth. I spent over 30 minutes just browsing around the store and left full of ideas for my garden. A garden that I haven't even planted yet, but am now inspired to make happen next spring! The first thing you've gotta do is check out their courtyard. It is stunning. Great place to get a new profile picture. So peaceful! Then you can browse the many different rooms. I'm not sure how many items were actual antiques, but they all had that antique vibe. They had a lot of coastal themed items naturally, but the prices were much lower than what you would find similar items for in Virginia Beach. We were greeted when we arrived and then left to do our own wandering. Masks were worn by all and if I remember correctly they even have hand sanitizer by the front door! This spot is a hidden gem in Portsmouth with so many hidden treasures waiting for you!

The garden is for show; the rooms are for sale. Within the many rooms are ornate decor pieces, from vases, frames, mirrors, and variety of tchotchkes. I purchased an $8 planter. This store is a lot larger than I ever knew, and a good place to add unique touches to your rooms and/or gardens.

A true Portsmouth find. I can come here and just sit in the garden. Bill is amazing with his knowledge and the items he has here are beautiful. If you do nothing but just come in and go to the garden you will not be disappointed!

Anderson-Wright is hands-down my favorite shop in Olde Towne P-town and one of my faves in all of Hampton Roads. It's one of those shops that is an experience unto itself just going there. A lot of the buildings in Olde Towne have these beautiful secret little courtyards you can't see from the street and theirs has to be one of the coolest (see my photos). They sell decorative garden items and furnishings--Buddha statues to antique wrought-iron garden gates. The store actually consists of a couple of buildings and a series of rooms arranged in a with the courtyard joining them. The owners (I think it's two guys that own it) are always friendly but not all up in your business as you're indulged in the Zen-like experience of shopping there. I would love to have a party there. Or sleep there. But that's just weird, isn't it?

I was looking for garden furniture and decorations. They have Everything! The owner walked around with us and helped us pick out our furniture then matched up our yard trinkets. Excellent customer service. He knows the history of the items, his fashion/style is impeccable,I highly recommend this store.

I was on a quest for a Virgin Mary garden statue and I learned about this business on Yelp. The first reviewer's five-star rating for it piqued my curiosity, so I decided to visit the store. I was very impressed with the layout of the store and its selection of garden decorations. Bill, the seller, was so courteous to help me find what I wanted. Even though the store didn't carry the statue at the time, Bill placed it on order and the transaction went smoothly in a timely manner. If you happen to be in the downtown Portsmouth area, and even if you're not up to shopping for garden statues and such, feel free to come in and peek inside at the gorgeeous and peaceful courtyard. It's so worth the time! You'll probably feel like you're in Italy at the moment. It would make a great place to throw a posh lttle party gathering.
