Visited Amaz Asian and had an exceptional experience; it's among the best Asian restaurants I've tried. Greeted warmly, ordered via tablet, and enjoyed fresh, flavorful food served promptly. Everything was a 9/10, with the Thai Tea standing out for its perfect balance of sweetness. Ordered Thai Tea, Veggie Rolls, Deep Fried Chicken Wonton, Pad Kee Mao, and Chicken Teriyaki. Highly recommend visiting if in the area.

Food is so yummy and everything tastes so fresh. The people who work there are also very nice and attentive. Inside of the place is so cute, though they did not have AC, so keep that in mind for summer!

Amaz Asian Cafe & Bistro opened in March of this year, taking over the building space previously occupied by My Mama's Kitchen in the East Beach section of Norfolk.Their floor plan is the same as I remembered. There is a counter based dining area to the left and a separate table based dining room to the right. An outdoor dining patio is in front. This is a true Mom and Pop restaurant, owned and operated by a young and friendly Asian couple. I did not see any other employees.Ordering is done at the counter from two kiosks. The one on the left is for credit card use, and you can pay by cash from the one on the right. Their owners will gladly assist you if needed and answer any questions you may have. With a Pan-Asian approach, several varieties of Asian cuisine are offered, including Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Sushi. After three visits, I have tried the following:THAI DUMPLINGS (5): Steamed Chicken Wontons wrapped and served with our Sweet and Sour Chili Soy Sauce, Sprinkled with Fried Garlic. This dish was listed under the Starters section of their menu. The dumplings came apart too easily and needed tighter construction. The flavor of their chicken fillings came through well. The sauce was tasty and well balanced. My Rating: 3.5 Stars.PAD KAPHRAO: This was a Thai offering shown above their counter and not on their regular menu. This is basically their Stir-Fry Spicy Basil dish with your choice of meat and the addition of a Crispy Fried Egg. My choice of meat was Chicken. Its heat level felt short for me, and I asked if they had some Prik Nam Pla to help spice it up. They whipped me up an excellent version that did the trick. The Chicken came in sliced pieces instead of a more traditional ground or minced form. The egg was nicely browned along its edges in traditional Thai style. The flavors of the Basil and other ingredients came through nicely overall. The volume of sauce formed a puddle I found a bit excessive for an authentic version. My Rating: 4 Stars.PRIK NAM PLA: This is a classic Thai condiment that consists of Thai Chilies, Fish Sauce, Lime Juice, Garlic, and Shallots. Their version gave me a nice spicy zing and ranks among the best I have ever tried. My Rating: 5 Stars.PAD THAI: Stir-Fry Dish made with Rice Noodles, Meat, Scrambled Egg, and Vegetables, Served with a Chili Hot Sauce. I chose Shrimp for my protein. Most of the flavors came through well. Their Chili Sauce wasn't spicy enough for me, but their Prik Nam Pla picked up the slack.Diced tofu was also included, but the pieces were over fried with an oily aftertaste and lost their essential firmness. Pickled radish and dried shrimp were desired for a more authentic version but absent. My Rating: 3.5 Stars. TUNA ROLL: Ordered from their Sushi menu, this one contained Raw Tuna and Cucumber. A traditional Japanese style Tuna Roll, also called a Tekka Maki Roll, is a Hosomaki style roll with only one filling, namely the Tuna. It also comes with the seaweed on the outside. This one was prepared Uramaki style with the seaweed on the inside and the rice on the outside, which is an American invention. It came in 8 oversized pieces with the rice dominating the fillings. They would not fit into the container of soy sauce for dipping. The rice came loose and crumbled easily, resulting in a mostly dysfunctional roll. My Rating: 2 Stars.PHO: Rice Noodle Soup with Basil, Chili, Bean Sprouts, and Red Onion, Served with Lime and Hot Sauce. The protein choices included Chicken, Tofu, and Shrimp. Since Beef was not an option, I chose the Chicken. It also came with Broccoli and Carrots, which were not listed in the original menu description on the day of my order as shown above. They have since been added to the menu description, but these are not traditional ingredients for authentic Vietnamese Pho. The broth was bland, and the noodles were overcooked. My Rating: 2 Stars.NOM YEN--THAI PINK MILK: Ordered from their Beverage menu, this is a very popular Thai drink that is made from Sala Syrup and Cold Milk. It is best served with crushed ice, but theirs was served with oversized ice cubes that displaced much of the liquid. The drink delivered a nice floral taste while it lasted, but it was gone after only a few sips. I wanted more. My Rating: 3.5 Stars. In spite of my mixed food ratings, there are some signs of talent here, as shown by how well they prepare their Prik Nam Pla. My final 3-star rating is still a passing grade. I like my Asian cuisine prepared with more authenticity and am hoping they can tweak some of their recipes accordingly. To cite one more example, I would prefer the more traditional use of Gai-Lan instead of western style broccoli for their Pad See Ew.If you don't mind some inauthentic touches to your Asian cuisine, go ahead and check them out. The owners work hard, aim to please, and will appreciate your support.I wish them the best of future success.

Was in the mood for seafood but passed their sign and decided to try it. I went with the green curry with fried chicken. I don't normally order curry dishes but Amaz Asian Cafe Bistro has changed my mind. I should also add that Pan was helpful and very gracious. Thank you for a nice casual dining experience.

Clean, friendly, and great food - wish I would have found this place sooner!I didn't capture all of our food, but I got the chicken pad Thai and it was awesome. The photo is actually of my buddy's food and he said it was legit (and he's Thai) - Stir fried basil pork with fried egg on top.Just go - you won't be disappointed!

My neighbor and I were talking about good Thai food last night. So, as I drove, I made a quick right and headed straight to the restaurant. Since no cars were in front, it took about 3 minutes for me to figure out it was open. I ordered from the kiosk and the person behind the counter said it would take 5-10 minutes. Sure enough, I got a text saying that my order was ready in about 8 minutes. I picked it up and headed home.Chicken with green curry sauce comes with jasmine rice, fries chicken and vegetables. Packaged nice and neat. First task was spicy, sweet, and flavorful. Tender chicken, perfect rice and vegetables to balance the dish. I'll go back for sure.

The second time we went here As always the place is clean and has no smell upon getting in. The service was great our food came out in less than 10-15 minutes wait. The people are really nice, they remembered us from the last visit. They remembered my son wearing his karate gi, we thought that was really nice of them. We re-ordered the same food fromthe last time and I ordered a new dish for the first time.Green curry soup - 9/10! The heat was perfect not too spicy but it's in there. It is savory and I was thinking for curry to taste weird but it taste great with the jasmine rice, the pork was soft and tender, not dry at all. Green Curry Pork tonkatsu katsudon - re-order my son's favorite! He still loves it! (9.8/10 he said)Chicken fried rice 8/10 - My husband has no complains about it, he loved it. He said after eating "stick a fork in me" I guess that went well. It was a pretty good Asian place to go to! We have come back 2x and we still feel the same. Happy eaters. #supportlocal #nofilter

Once again we had a wonderful experience dining at Amaz! The green curry was flavorful and tofu was fried to perfection. My partner had his usual chicken and broccoli dish and said it really hit the spot! The chef brought us some chicken Thai dumplings on the house. We were obsessed with the sauce! Once again, very kind service. I included pics of the inside this time- so comfy and kitschy. Do not sleep on this gem!

Food was very fresh, good mix of vegetables, wide noodles were not overcooked, crispy chicken cooked just right. My brother had the same thing with beef instead of chicken. He was very happy with it and can be particular. Service was good but not great, server was pleasant and very nice. Dining room is somewhat small but decorated nicely and very clean. We will be going back!
