Gabriel, the owner was quite the gem! He's a true authentic Italian! His little spot was super cute! He has food that is packaged already and ready to eat, which I liked! He also makes fresh food right in front of you as well. His wonderful wife makes the desserts and they are delicious!!! His hospitality and vibe was refreshing. Being that my half of my family is also Italian, we were able to relate. My husband speaks Italian, and had a good time talking with Gabriel ! He's a great guy and that's what we love to have during dining experiences. The focaccia bread was so fresh and tasty!! Everything we ate was delicious and we can't wait to go back to try more. If you haven't tried it out yet, check it out asap.

Cute, family own business located inside the Selden Market in downtown Norfolk. It is owned by a husband and wife. Only the Mr's. was in today, and she was so sweet! Her customer service was fantastic. I tried a "flight" with the Brooklyn's Finest, the Margherita Milana, Sophies Classico, and Kristine's Meat Feast (love that the sandwiches are named after their daughters). My face was the Margherita Milana dipped in the creamy tomatoe basil soup! SO GOOD! The focaccia bread was fresh and warm.. the best! I could come here weekly if carbs didn't stick to me like glue!

Loved our first visit to Amalie Tre Focacceria! The owner is from Milan and very Italian! Our sandwich was delicious and no toppings were skimped! Can't wait to eat here again.

Run, don't walk to try this Focacceria! I love Italian food, especially when it's super fresh and Amale Tre Focacceria delivers. I got the Margherita focaccia and fresh tomato soup with cheese topping (I think it was riccota), and it was out of this world delicious. I ate there and it was best served piping hot with fresh basil and olive oil drizzle. The family that owns it truly cares about the experience. Service was friendly and courteous, and the bistro tables are a cute place to sit down and eat. I will be back.

Hot Chocolate Wars Review!!! Chef Gabriele is so welcoming!! As I waited for the Hot Chocolate to come out he had me try a breadstick with some sauce, so yummy!! The hot chocolate was hot and delicious!! The cannoli chip on the top was a nice addition!! This is a new location in the Selden Market it's decorated so cute! Such a great addition to the market! I've visited them at several locations, and anything I've purchased has always been delicious!! Another great small business to support!

Amale Tre Focacceria opened with a bang on November 3rd of this year inside the Selden Market in downtown Norfolk. It took over the space previously occupied by Shake It Up and is stationed to the immediate left of S'mores Amore, one of my favorite dessert shops.Amale Tre Focacceria is being billed as Virginia's first focacceria shop, and their focaccia bread is baked fresh daily. It also serves as an Italian deli as well. It is family owned and led by Chef Gabriele Pianezze, a super friendly and outgoing Italian gentleman with a larger than life personality that is off the charts. He gave me a fist bump during one of my visits after placing my order. When he is not cooking, he is often standing at the entrance calling out attention to his specialties to the Selden Market patrons. He was especially enthusiastic while hawking his Nutella Hot Cocoa entry for the recent 2023 Great Hot Cocoa Wars event. He is also the owner of La Cucina Di Sophia, which is their food truck, and La Cucina Di Milania, which is their Italian farmers market stand. His new brick and mortar spot inside the Selden Market completes his trifecta. In addition to his focaccia specialties, he offers a variety of deli offerings. Freshly made pasta, including spaghetti, rigatoni, and fusilli can be ordered by the pound. House made Marinara Sauce and Vodka Sauce are available. Take-home gourmet Italian dishes are available, as well as Italian meat balls, and Arancini, which are Italian rice balls are also available. I hear more is coming. He makes his own freshly made Mozzarella, and the meats and other cheeses he uses for his focaccia specialties are imported from Italy. After four visits, I have tried the following:NUTELLA HOT COCOA: This was his entry in the annual Great Hot Cocoa Wars event, which was won by Rich Port Coffee. The flavors of the Nutella and chocolate came through nicely. It was more warm than hot, and I would have liked it a bit hotter, showing me some steam. My Rating: 4 Stars.CANNOLI: His version of this classic Italian dessert pastry comes with chocolate syrup and Nutella. Two of them came with my order, and their rich and full bodied flavors and textures socked me with a sweet and sensory taste experience. My Rating; 5 Stars.TIRAMISU: Another classic Italian dessert, this one came in a plastic snap-shut container and did not come with a spoon or fork. It fell apart a bit when I tried to remove it.My slice was huge, tasty, and melted in my mouth. I would have liked a stronger presence of its classic coffee flavor. My Rating: 4 Stars.ORANGE SORBELLA: This is a most unique dessert consisting of frozen orange sorbet inside a real orange. An opening was carved out of the top of the orange for your spoon. I had to let mine thaw out for a while before I could eat it, as the lid was frozen shut. Once it did, it exploded with flavor. The thawing of the orange peel made it edible for extra flavor and texture. My Rating: 5 Stars.OPEN-FACED FOCACCIA: A variety of his open-faced focaccia offerings are on display behind the plexiglass counter, ready to be heated up. The one I chose consisted of artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, and basil pesto. It was colorful, chewy, filling, and delicious. My Rating: 5 Stars.FOCACCIA FARCITA: This one was offered as a sandwich special, and I ordered the quarter size. It came stuffed with Prosciutto, Provolone, and freshly made Mozzarella, topped with Olive Oil, and a side of Olives. The flavors of this one came through beautifully and left me stuffed. My Rating: 5 Stars.MORTADELLA & PROVOLONE FOCACCIA SANDWICH: This was a build-your own sandwich, and Chef Gabriele advised me that Mortadella pairs better with Provolone than with Mozzarella, which was my first choice. Other ingredients and toppings included Arugula, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Balsamic Glaze, Olive Oil, and a few assorted pickled veggies. The combination of flavors worked well for me, yet the other sandwiches I tried slapped me with just a little more intensity of flavor. My Rating: 4.5 Stars.PROSCIUTTO & MOZZARELLA FOCACCIA SANDWICH: This was another build-your-own sandwich, and Chef Gabriele assisted me once again. I wanted a sandwich with Prosciutto, and his recommended cheese pairing was his freshly made Mozzarella. All the other ingredients and toppings were the same as with my other build-your-own sandwich. This one gave me the most powerful taste explosion of them all. Every bite was, thick, chewy and dripping with deliciousness. My Rating: 5-Plus Stars. If I can offer one suggestion, it would be to offer paper plates for those who might want to more easily enjoy their focaccia sandwiches at a table inside the Selden Market. I brought my own for this reason. My average food rating came out to 4.75 stars, which resulted in a strong 5-star final overall rating. I am very excited about this new local Italian spot and am looking forward to my future visits.

Hey, you! Yes, you! Wake up! Get up! Get dressed! Head over to Amale Tre in Selden Market right now! It's one of the three businesses that set up shop in Selden Market and opened last Friday. You're in for a treat! Amale Tre is the first focacceria in the area and I am ALL for it! Amale Tre took over the old Shake It Up space. You will walk right up to the counter, covered by plexiglass of course, and your eyes will immediately focus on a variety of open-faced focaccia, ready fo be warmed up! My friend and I opted for a build-your-own focccaccia, which is more of a sandwich. It is massive and we shared it and it was enough! You choose your meat, cheese, and toppings. We opted for porchetta (kind of like a ham, but less salty which I loved!), stratchitella and fontina cheeses, sun-dried tomatoes, and arugula, finished with a balsamic glaze. The focaccia was absolutely amazing, fresh, chewy, lightly crispy and all the flavors of the ingredients paired so well together. I am still dreaming about it! They have a deli fridge as well, holding all their meats and cheeses. They also have a small retail section showcasing dried pastas and other goods. I also noticed some red sauce, so I am wondering if that is ready-to-eat tomato sauce! Fun fact: the owner of Amale Tre also owns the food truck called La Cucina di Sophia and if you have been in the area a long time, he used to own Salvatore's in Princess Anne. We used to go to Salvatore's quite often during our last tour here. Note to self: get some tomato sauce and try the open faced focaccia with prosciutto next time! I can't wait to try a new combo next time! Such a great addition to Selden Market!

Man oh Man. This place is so awesome. My boyfriend grew up in Italy for a few years in his childhood. Always talks to me about Italy and his love for Italians and their delicious food! So needless to say I wanted to take him somewhere authentic. This small but impactful Market hit the mark with excellent customer service the owner is super kind warm and welcoming! The Ambiance is warm, welcoming, and friendly though a small location (which I had no problem with but I've seen people comment on) definitely leaves you wanting to come back. When me and my boyfriend went we had a table and were able to sit and enjoy our food. They are actually working on their grand opening and expanding I believe, from what we were told. This small family owned business deserves every star it gets, we will definitely be coming back and can't wait for what they have planned in the future expansions. I sorta forgot the names of our entrees but the sandwiches were delicious his had a basil dressing and mine was pesto both sandwiches were flavorful and super filling. My boyfriend gives it a 5/5 stars as do I. We also took some desert and soup home. Gratzi

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! This place is a wonderful focaccia place. You can get ready made breads, sandwiches, and soups. You can also take focaccia bread to go and heat it up at home. The bread is so good. Soft but with a lil crunch. The herbs are so fresh. Everything is home made. This place is super unique, and it is a great addition to Selden Market. The owner is super cool, and he makes sure you get what you need. Awesome service. We got the Caterine. It was so delicious. The herbs and cheese make it so fresh. The pickled veggies on the side taste super good in combination with the sandwich. The focaccia bread was amazing as usual. The decor is nice, giving a cool Italian cafe vibe. So good! Will be back!!
