We drive 30 minutes past many other BBQ restaurants to eat here................ wonderful food and great bar

Friend hyped these guys up saying they were it. They brought me some while I was at work and it wasnt bad. I stopped in after work one day a few weeks later. Not it. Average at best. must be the cook was different that day or something. My Star Rating System, since there cant be a 0 stars, I rank my decisions to eat somewhere again as:1 star - if someone else buys it I won't eat it, I would rather go hungry.2 star - if I'm hungry, no other options are open and someone buys it - I would consider eating it3 star - I'm ok with eating it as long as someone else pays4 star - I will eat again and pay for it and be a semi-regular customer5 star - I will travel for good food and pay good money and be back on a regular basis and maybe even pay for yours just so we can go

The food is consistently great and well-seasoned everything I've tried has been excellent. The wings had a bit more sauce than I prefer, but that's just a personal preference

Food and service A1. It's a little small, but I favor hole in the wall restaurants over overcrowded spots.

I love a great BBQ place and this place hit all the marks with yummy food, great service and a great atmosphere inside! It was our first time here and decided to go all out and try a bunch of the different food items they offered. Had plenty of leftovers which was not a bad thing with the yummy quality of food. Food: Complimentary rolls with honey butter! Let's just say you had me at Honey Butter! The rolls were also soft and moist. Meats: sausage, chicken, brisket chicken wings and pulled pork, and to be honest all the meats were good! My top 3 were the chicken, pulled pork and wings. Love all the sauces too! Particularly liked the one that came on the chicken and pulled pork. Sides: Baked beans -good flavor Green beans-nice spice Jalapeño Mac and cheese-so good and not spicy just flavorful Potato salad- also very good! We also started with the chili and gumbo and both were delicious. Gumbo reminded me of gumbo from down in Louisiana! We got a chocolate chip cookie to go and they are homemade and delicious. Our server was extremely friendly and made sure we had refills and answered all of our questions. Inside there isn't too much seating but there is also a bar area with seats. I love the dim lighting instead of bright lighting. Can't wait to go back! .

So on the peninsula is there any barbecue place the is better? No. No there isn't.Full disclosure I am a barbecue snob, I grew up in the Midwest with lost of great barbecue and have made and eaten lots of great barbecue. It's not a fair review to compare barbecue places in this area with places in my memories. So I have to change my review. The addition of the stars is based on the following.1. There is nothing they did wrong and everything they did they is well seasoned and presented in a clean nice place with nice people working.2. My wife and I have been back here multiple times and have not gone to any other barbecue place in the area.3. The menu always seems to have items that both sound interesting, taste delicious, and aren't found on other barbecue menus.4. They stay in their lane and keep reimagining dishes related to barbecue without trying to make the menu be everything to everyone.

Good food and plenty of it. The pulled pork and the brisket are melt in your mouth tender. Decent sized menu with lots of options. Service is prompt and courteous without being overly attentive. Dining area is modern and clean. Would definitely recommend

Average bbq at best. They have a few tables and a bar area for people to sit down. Our server was new, but he was nice and informative about the menu. I probably won't be back again.

I dropped in late one Saturday night for dinner. Ordered the 2 entree platter. I had bbq chicken, bbq brisket, green beans and bbq baked beans. The meal came with a roll, and a little side of Cole slaw. I make it my business to get the brisket at every bbq joint that I visit. Their brisket was very tender. But I couldn't get the real taste of the meat because it was covered in bbq sauce. I'm actually used to saucing my own meat from a variety of bbq sauce flavors on the table like you get from mission bbq and county grill. The same went for the chicken. Now the entree descriptions had bbq in it, so I can't be mad about it. However, it would have been better to have had the option to select from a variety of sauces or to at least have a sauce on the table. The green beans had sweet, heat and bacon in the name. They were bland. I ate them and was wanting more for my toast buds. The root beer baked beans were okay. They were sweet and that was it. The baked beans had no onion, no green pepper, no jalapeño, no bacon, no beef, just beans and a sauce. All of this is fine, but the overall flavor profile for the beans was one dimensional. They don't cheat you on the portions, i received a healthy bowl of green beans and bbq baked beans. The chicken was good. Again, I wish I had asked for my sauce on the side. I was able to taste the flavor in the chicken despite the presence of the sauce. Alpha Pitt does a pretty good job with their meats. I'll definitely come back to sample their other protein options. I'll do the same with their sides.

We go here at least once a month. Food is great, I go for the brisket, #1 in this area. Service was ok, although I didn't recognize any servers new crew? Menu was changed recently just a couple tweaks. They have added a weekend brunch. Their smoked old fashioned is also VG. Would be nice if they had an outside area for when the weather gets good.
