Being a traveler versus a tourist, I enjoy immersion into the culture and get as close to the real deal as I can. The Adios Adventure Travel pros go above and beyond what you would expect from a regular travel company. Luckily, I booked my trip to Peru through Jacquie. I am a very busy small business owner, I didn't have the time to look up and research, do a cost analysis and so on. I simply told Jacquie at Adios Travel my dates and the country I wanted to visit. Jacquie took it from there and before you knew it I was all set with a full itinerary including stops and locations I never even knew existed. While in Peru, Jacquie, Vidal and Hubert made my trip personal, intimate, exciting, informative and relaxing all at once. I instantly felt like I was completely immersed in the culture with all the benefits of home, but not having make decisions or plan a thing. That is what I call a vacation! For example, instead of taking you to the "tourist market" (aka tourist trap) to be hounded to buy a souvenirs made in some far away sweat shop they'll take you to the local weaving site. Here you'll talk with, learn from, watch the artists and if you should choose, buy directly from the very same local artisan. This left me feeling happy and satisfied knowing I was giving back to the community. What's more, the intimate small groups allow them to be flexible and spontaneous and stopping along the roadside to check out a cool site and grab that picture you may never find anywhere else. The accommodations were fabulous and authentic with all the amenities you want and need. Having the knowledgeable and friendly local guides put you right in the heart of the destination. This allows you to get away from the daily grind and puts you in another world, which is exactly why you came in the first place. Using Adios Adventure Travel I was able to enjoy the uniqueness of this beautiful country and catch a breather at the same time. Well done Jacquie, Vidal and Hubert! Gracias, for my much needed wonderful, interesting, adventurous and relaxing Vacation!!

Just back from a thoroughly wonderful 12-day tour in Peru. Every arrangement with Adios, from the first discussions with Jacquie to the last, relieved, exhausted and happy step down from Wayna Picchu, was a quality experience. My husband and I talked our parents into this trip as a group of 5, and the custom itinerary Heather and Jacquie put together affordably met everyone's needs and more. All hotels were comfortably three-star, yet unique and well-located. We were well-informed and in direct communication with the main office before and throughout. The capable and safe drivers, professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated guides, and friendly local hosts in Lima, Ica (Nasca), Puno/Titicaca, Chinchero, Maras, and Cusco made our travel a memorable, unique pleasure.

I have so much to say about this amazing company. It really is the best kept secret except I am going to tell everyone how amazing they are. They are everything you could want in an adventure company. Our agent Jacqui was fantastic and on top of everything. Our guide Vidal was like family. We had the trio of a lifetime in Peru thanks to them. Thank you Jacqui and Vidal.

One of my life's best things is the trip I made through Adios Adventure Travel to Machu Piccu to hike the Inca Trail. We had porters carrying our stuff: tents, food, toilet paper, even a little toilet tent. The Peruvian government requires Inca Trail hikers to use porters. It provides jobs and keeps the trail clean and controlled. Our porters blithely slide past us grinning, huge packs on their backs, their feet like peels of black bananas and beat us by miles when we finally show up to find little cups of tea and crackers waiting along with bowls of water and small bars of soap, the doors to our tents flapping, all set up and happy to see us. Our pancakes in the morning have flowers on top made by carving strawberries and served on a little table on the side of the mountain. The clouds in Peru billow big and white and coat the sides of the sky, giving the impression of being inside a snow globe, inside a snow globe, the liquid settled clear, a tiny me eating pretty pancakes on the side of a mountain. We are hiking the Inca Trial, the footpath the Incas took up to Machu Piccu, Little Mountain, built out of stone and shaped like a lizard way up in the clouds on top of a mountain, where they lived and farmed and worshiped. We walk up, down, up, down, up, down. We walk way up, way down. Down, down. Up, up. We walk for four days. Our guide is like a mountain goat, leading us along the trail knee deep on either side with drippy, moist epiphytic orchids sprouting out of plant, out of plant, out of plant. There on the walls of our lush walk parrots appear, giant humming birds hum. We walk in a spongy cloud forest. Our faces turn red with vertical climbs as we lean into on our walking sticks, our hearts and lungs and legs getting bigger, stronger each day. Our guide skillfully stirs us away from other hikers so that it seems to be just us, a little group of poncho people, walking up a mountain somewhere in the Andes. We hardly know anyone else is there, anywhere. At times on "goat's path," we stumble on an archaeological dig, possibly we guess, the Smithsonian or maybe National Geographic. Tiny full grown bodies laid out in bones under blue tarps into which we peer, the dirt they lay in a perfectly smooth box with perfectly sculpted right angles, molars still in their mouths. Macchu Piccu was accidentally discovered only one hundred years or so ago, abandoned by the Incas, no one knows why, and covered by plants. There are still polished stones on the foot path, relics rounded and smoothed in the hands of an Incan some one hundred years ago, kicked unwittingly by an innocent hiker, doing one of life's best things: hiking the Inca Trail. There is no better travel service company than Adios Adventure Travel. I guarantee it!

My boyfriend and I got back from our Peru trip a couple weeks ago, and I have been missing it ever since. Easily, the best trip of our lives. If you are ever considering going to Peru & hiking Machu Picchu, definitely go through Adios Travel Adventure. Both co-owners Jacquie & Vidal were wonderful to work with (and Heather as well)! We did a 5 day hike and at times is was very challenging but completely worth it. There was an issue with our initial itinerary that we picked, but Jacquie & Vidal did everything they could and made it right. It all worked out for the best, and we can't say enough good things about working with them.I contacted Jacquie many months before our trip and from start to finish, it was a breeze to work with her. She always responded in a timely manner to all of my questions (and I had a TON of questions)! Lol. It made planning the trip fun & stress free! I don't regret one bit going through Adios Travel Adventure! We recommend them 100%. And if you ever get to choose your guide - ask them to book Klever for you...absolutely wonderful!!

Adios Adventures made our first post-COVID trip of 8 days to the Cusco area a huge success. Vidal and his family strive to give you the best impression of Peru and enhance your understanding of the culture and history with his vast knowledge and experience. They partner with the family hotel/hostel Blue House and provide a variety of experiences. This is the first family trip where I haven't had to plan logistics. A day trip to Machu Picchu is a marathon 14 hour day navigating the bus and train transfers and still have 3 hours to enjoy the plateau. Vidal did all the thinking for me leaving me the freedom to enjoy it with my family. My favorite excursion was an overnight hike to Waqqrapukara. Traveling with a 9yo with short little legs and 12yo who discovered she had exercise induced asthma at high altitudes was a challenge, but one that we were able to tackle together because Vidal took care of the tents, food and and an extra horse for the little one. Mario, the consumate professional chef who packed a white chef's jacket which he changed into prior to cooking, made two amazing soups which were the 12yo's favorite meal during our whole trip. Vidal was flexible and accommodating reading our energy level and mood well. He is able to pivot easily, such as when we arrived in Chinchero to find all the weavers shut down for the day because of the national elections. Using his vast network of connections (he met someone he knew on the street in every town we went to) he phoned a friend who put together a demonstration with only 45 minutes lead time. Also a shout out to Yorkee who is an amazing driver navigating one lane dirt roads on the side of steep mountains effortlessly. Please engage him in a game of "slug bug" as there are plenty of VW Bugs to be seen during road trips.

Thank you, Adios Adventure Travel! Everyone we worked with from Adios Adventure Travel was very prompt, reliable, helpful, and easy to communicate with. Heather helped us book and confirm our itinerary, and Vidal and Hubert met with us in person for our orientation, and guided us through our hike from KM 104 to Sun Gate. Vidal gained our trust, and you could tell as we passed other groups that Adios Adventure was the most organized and thought through all the little details. They were the highlight of our trip. Thank you for everything, Vidal!

Jacquie & Vidal planned the trip of a lifetime for our family. We knew that that trying to plan a trip to Peru & Galapagos on our own would be a challenge and after speaking with several tour operators we knew without a doubt that Adios was the right decision. The trip was tailored to the varying needs our family members and exceeded everyone one of our expectations. We were fortunate to have Hubert as a tour guide while in Peru. What an amazing human being - Intelligent, gracious and accommodating. After the trip Jacquie asked us for feedback on areas where they could improve. Here is what I wrote "The Peruvian people, the history, the landscape and the sights - absolutely amazing. Our family is still talking about Hubert. What a great soul. I don't know how you did it but the trip was planned perfectly. The proper balance of sights, free time, etc. Would not change a thing." I could go on and on about the experience but without a doubt it was the most amazing and best planned trip I have ever been on I don't think it would have been the same without the thoughtfulness and local expertise of Adios.
