Great food and always a good time with the workers. If you go here breakfast and lunch are always on point.

Locally Owned hidden gem of the Roanoke ValleyGreat place to get breakfast or lunchThe homemade biscuits are huge, get you a cheddar cheese one. It alone will fill you up. Great home cooking from the great ladies there. The building doesn't look the best but that's where you find all the great places to eat. Small dining room , locals usually get it to go. Give it a try, if you are traveling I-95 it away from the burger alley near the interstate. Take the Gaston exit 176 or the Roanoke Rapids exit 173 to get here. The staff will treat you great!

Do you want the best grits you've ever had in your life? I'm not a local, but this is it. The biscuits are good, buttery, and flaky. Biscuits are always fresh, because they can't keep them and stuff. Those folks in the back are working double time. The large, sweet tea is enough to put you into a coma! So good. This is picturesque food. Eat here . Service is fast minimum seating inside. It's fast it's loud, those folks hustle.

Legendary local spot with one of the busiest drive-thru lanes you'll ever see "not" serving fast food, but serving legit dinner plates with country sides & homemade biscuits. You can eat inside if you want -- or if you dare. There are only about 6 booth spaces, and don't expect a nice quiet dining experience. Instead, you'll basically be sitting in the kitchen & in the middle of a very loosely organized food preparation process.Unfortunately, their breakfasts now are nothing like what they used to be. Once the best country-style breakfast around, they've now stopped having molasses and/or sorghum syrup to enjoy along with their biscuits. And the sausage patties are now pre-made from a typical supplier rather than hand-formed & in-house. Both of these changes are most disappointing & make their breakfast not worth a special trip. But if you're in the neighborhood, maybe go ahead & stop by for some baked chicken, butter beans, or one of their other dishes.

Beware !! The appearance is not the best but the food is everything and more. I remember coming here when I was a little girl and I was shocked that they were still open. My mom and I visited one Thursday morning and the food was so good that I had to go back the next day.I ordered a cheddar bacon biscuit with lemonade and seasoned potato's. My mom ordered a cheddar biscuit, fatback and lemonade. Their biscuits are made in store and they taste even better once it's heated up.They serve pretty much anything and they're only open for a few hours a day.I recommend stopping by for a quick bite if you're in Roanoke Rapids and you want be disappointed. Get there early because they're not open all day.

Best place for breakfast. They also have lunch as well. hours are from 5am-2pm and closed on saturdays & sundays. However, i would call my order in, especially in the morning, they are always super packed for breakfast but they have great food.

The food here is always amazing! Very southern and country!! There is a huge range of fried and grilled items!!! If you love pork this is the spot for you! Bacon, sausage, links, ham, steak and thats BREAKFAST!! When Lunch rolls around you are hit with baked, fried and bbq chicken, hamburger steak and gravy, mac and cheese, yams, greens and much more, those are just my favorite!!! Stop in and eat!!! I pray this place is able to be rebuilt because it needs to stand years to come! We really really wanted to like this place. We love finding little gems in towns and support local businesses. Unfortunately, this didn't pan out great for us. Service was great, everyone was very friendly and the food came out fast. Whatever you do, do not dine in- grab and go if you want to give them a try. There hood system clearly isn't working and the whole place smelled like old burnt grease. We had to change our clothes after eating there bc it was just soaked into them.Bacon eggs and grits were tasty but not amazing. So maybe give the drive through a shot? We are GF so we couldn't have their biscuits, but they did look good!

Let me be blunt: If you have ever been to Roanoke Rapids to visit family and they didn't get you an Abner's Country ham, egg, and cheddar cheese biscuit, they don't love you!If you visited a friend here and they didn't take you to Abner's for a biscuit, they aren't your real friend! If you've ever been to this town, and not been to Abner's, but you tell people you've had "the best breakfast biscuit", you're misinforming them! Because Abner's has; hands down; the GREATEST breakfast biscuits of anywhere. The next time you're in Roanoke Rapids, stop by, order you a biscuit, and sit back and enjoy it. And then go fuss at all your so-called "family and friends" for hiding this place from you for all these years!
