(This one is an amalgamation of a few visits at different times over the past six or seven years but primarily from our most recent trip last June.)Every time we stay in OBX it's always in Corolla and if we're looking for booze this ABC store is very convenient as it's about a five minute drive from the hotel.Being from PA this ABC reminds me of a hybrid of our Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores (aka State Stores). PA stores at one time were all mostly small with aisles of random things arranged in a cluttered mess. But newer or redesigned stores while larger and more spread out are also more visually appealing with better designs. This store is small and I wouldn't say it has an overabundance of choices, but it's well laid out with good prices and it should get the job done for most of your liquor needs especially if you're looking for something made in NC. Last trip we were there it was a weekday around dinner time in mid-June and the place was deserted. Just us and the old lady at the register who was Skype watching? some sort of graduation ceremony on her phone at full volume. When we got to the register she was very nice and we didn't seem to be bothering her but she also never turned her phone down either. Whatever.Note that this place is not for beer. If you want that you can visit the Northern Outer Banks Brewing Company which is almost next door, the Brew Thru in the Timbuck II shopping area, Food Lion or Harris Teeter.

Liquor stores in NC are state-run, and they're all called ABC Store (Alcoholic Beverage Control). This one is conveniently located by a strip mall near a bunch of restaurants and Northern Outer Banks Brewing Company. Tons of parking, though it's easy to miss when the sign is hidden behind some overgrown trees.Good selection inside. Prices are good. I particularly liked the North Carolina liquors (picked up some moonshine). If you don't see something you want, just ask! They'll look in the back for you, and they're about the nicest people ever.

Corolla resident. Walked in with guests from NYS on 8/6/21. Shelves nearly empty. Employee curtly says 'liquor shortage in state on NC'. I was embarrassed & my guest shocked. Guest said Nys ( a non ABC state) were stocked full. State run liquor stores like NC & Virginia should be a thing of the past. Dissolve the ABC. This would never happen if the private sector could provide services. Competition helps everyone.

Went in first week of Aug 2021. Almost zero inventory. If you planning to stock up on liquor when you get to Corolla don't plan on having a decent selection. Save money bring your liquor from home. Wish I could give this a zero star rating.

Showed up at 8:58 and was refused service. I understand that's not convenient but if it says open until 9 it should be open until 9 ESPECIALLY when you're the only liquor store within miles
