A Penny Saved Thrift & Consignment

This place is a hidden gem! Store is neat and well organized, no weird thrifty smell, lots of treasures! Prices were great. Lots of nice clothes, housewares/furnishings, books, and jewelry! Store is in the corner of a small shopping center. Easy to miss, but worth the effort to find. Parking was plentiful.

While in Kitty Hawk for a week, me and a friend drove around to some of the thrift stores in the area. This was our favorite! There is one room for books and games, one room for everything "Kitchen and Household", an area for clothes and shoes and a nice showcase for small trinkets and jewelry. There were also some other shelves and sections for glassware and home decor. There were two dressing rooms but I can't remember if they were open. I walked out with a dress, scarf and three books for about $20.

I hadn't anticipated that my trip to OBX would involve a thrift store adventure, but it did, and boy was I giddy when I found some great ones. This is one of my top five:1. Class & Trash2. Didn't smell like cigarette smoke as a previous reviewer said but it did have an unpleasant odor. I LOVE thrift stores but this one had too much for me. The photos are appropriate. If you're looking for anything you can't find in another store, it might be here.It almost felt like I was in the attic of a hoarding family member.While it wasn't a fit for me, someone else may like it.

This shop is bigger than it looks from the outside. Huge selection of clothing, shoes, and housewares, and a good showing in the tchotchke department. Standard consignment shop arranging of items and standard consignment shop prices. If you have the time, I think you could really find some treasures here. I was here with my husband who did not really have the patience for more than a cursory inspection. But if I were coming back, and I would, I would give myself about 90 minutes to hunt. And I don't think they were for sale, but this shop has an impressive collection of piggy banks on a shelf near the ceiling, including heads of my hero Jack Skellington and Dr. Finkelstein from the Nightmare Before Christmas.

This place is awesome! I wish more consignment shops were like this- full of all sorts of wonderful treasures, and some trash that could be someone else's treasure :) If you have even the tiniest bit of imagination you'll love this place- it's all reasonably priced and you can do tons of stuff with what you find in here...I saw a typerwriter (that still worked), a military field desk, museum-quality prints, vintage jewelry, kitchenwares, antiques, tchotchkies... it was just crazy.They also have clothes but I wasn't really looking in that section...Definitely worth a trip if you like a good dig...

Every time I visit the Outer Banks I make a trip here also. This is the best thrift/consignment store that I've seen so much to choose from. Nine brands gold jewelry, real leather purse. I purchased a pair of ASICS shoes for $14. That looked practically new. A pair of Merrell sandals for 8.75. There is also many books to choose from and many art pieces. The items here are from all over the world. There is lots of beautiful glassware to choose from; beautiful bud vases that very unique. I enjoy talking to the cashier/owner when I visit here.

a must visit!! i would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for jewelry or trinkets! the owners are friendly and the prices are fair!

Lovely thrift/consignment store. The person working at the front counter was very welcoming. She even allowed my daughter and I to use their ladies' room. Great selection of antique, vintage, and retail items. My daughter and I found some great deals. The clothing selection was a little small, but my daughter was able to also find great deals on clothes. We'll definitely be back!

I am so glad that I found this store! We stayed in the area for a week. We visited many thrift stores and when I saw this Thrift Store/Consignment Store I thought the prices might be higher, but I was wrong. The clothes prices were more reasonable than many of the Thrift Stores plus they were running many in-house sales-50%-75% off! The selections were better than all of the other stores. They have many great clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, books, glassware to choose from. If I had only 1 store to shop from this would be the store I would choose!
