We came here after a brunch with the desire to play some pool. We ordered a few drinks. The place was pretty clean and the server was very attentive. I have been here a few times and it could be a hit or miss. This time around was pretty good. Till next time

Food is great--especially the tator tots.Trivia on Wednesday is amazing! So fun!But your credit card will be compromised. Without fail. Owner needs to fix this issue. Literally nearly every person I know who has paid with a credit card has had it snatched.

The AJ Gators on Holland is, sadly, the worst around. It's the unfortunate conversation of overworked staff and poor facilities. The food's okay but generally has a lengthy wait because of the staffing issues. I'd recommend the one in Kempsville or Sandbridge if you're looking to try one out. They're more like a solid three and a half Stars.My wife and I visited on Friday night. Relatively busy we had a choice of six booths and five open tables that we could sit out. We chose a booth by the door. Between us we had 10 boneless wings with Buffalo honey barbecue sauce, tater tots, a Philly steak, then onion rings. For drinks we had two of the honey Peach teas and one hard raspberry lemonade drink.Food first period The wings were large and meaty Period Well Sauced And the Buffalo honey Barbecue sauce is great. Both the tater tots and onion rings work fried correctly and we both like them. The Philly steak was fine with good tasting meat which is the king of the Philly steak and grilled onions. We would have liked the option of grilled peppers with a steak but apparently that's not part of the menu.The raspberry lemonade was well made. It avoided the problem of bitterness. The honey peach tea was a hit.They overworked waitresses and cook stuff were slow which is usual at this restaurant. I was out of drink for about 10 minutes before I could finally catch my waitresses attention for the first visit in about 20 minutes. She did end up with four total checks on our table in the course of an hour but that was with me waving her down twice. By the way they're almost always friendly with no issues of that sort. They just usually have too many tables. The table next to me was served so slow that they complain vigorously and had another waitress help their table. Even with the new waitress for their table of five, they still ended up walking up to the bar for drinks and then also a second time to bag their own food. They left before us complaining loudly on their way out the door and giving dirty looks through the staff.For those who've never been to this location, the ambiance is a little difficult. The lighting is poor enough that the place just seems dim. It's like a long hall from the pool table down to the larger seating area at the other end which is split by a row of booths in the middle. Booths on one side, tables on the other. Speaking of the pool tables, they get frequent use. For the first time tonight the two players were vaping which is unusual for the location and fairly startling in a Virginia Beach Restaurant.The bathrooms may or may not be cleaned, it's a bar on a Friday night, but a recurring problem is that no matter when you walk in you're always struck by this sewage smell of a company that has a problem with their pipes.

The worst service I have ever seen. My waitress was too busy sitting on an old man's lap to bring our food or drinks. It wasn't just me, there were three other tables that they just ignored. Waited an hour for my drink, it was the wrong drink at that. Food was cold when we finally got it. Just wow. I am an understanding person, so if it was because she was very busy I would have left a tip but she was straight up ignoring 4 table and just service single guys laps. If you are not a regular here or a old greasy pedo then you will not have service. Please save your money and go somewhere else, anywhere else.

Been going to this chain for years and I love almost every aspect of this company. First of all, the staff is awesome at all locations and that a sure way to keep people coming back.The food is bar casual, nothing too out of the ordinary oh but wait... yes they have gator bites on the menu and they are FiRE!!!!! Every time I go back home to VA, I make it a point to pick up a basket of bites and meet up with old friends. Pricing here is modest, you won't break the bank unless you decide to tie one on. This place rules, to drop by and give em a try! Pro tip: get extra Tyga sauce with the gator bites!

Two employees running the entire business. Working bar, cooking, waiting tables. Took forever to get only drinks, witnessed many customers simply ask for check and leave after waiting hours for food. Do yourself a favor and keep driving folks.

We thought this would be a great place for a date night to hang out and relax. We ordered drinks and 30 minutes later, no service. The waitress disappeared, we been went inside to find her and still no waitress. We left and we will never coming back to this place. I'm not recommending this place to my friends and family.

I come here almost every week during football season. The food is always sooo good and service is even better. I bring my kids as even though it's a bar it's a great environment also. Great place and price. I had the sampler and my wife got the fish tacos. DELICIOUS!

June 28, 2022: Tuesday eveningVery disappointing evening. I have given this sports eatery all the fair exceptions I can in 6 months. I rate two stars because there have been two waitresses who have tried to go beyond average service to please. Sadly...they are swallowed up by lower tan mediocre management , bartenders and food staff.Tonight's dilemma: Arrogance from the barstaff ...who seemingly control the volume on music playing IN HOUSE. Music was playing so loudly in this family-atmosphere restaurant that one could not carry on a conversation nor relax to enjoy food that was served. I asked my waitress to ask the bar to turn back the volume which was "blaring" from speakers above my table.HE WENT TO THE PERSON BEHIND THE BAR....WITHIN 20 SECONDS...THE VOLUME WAS TURNED higher to the pointy that is actually hurt diners ears.The volume had been deliberately increased because a request was made.I asked that my waitress bring this up again to the bar. She made the attempt...but no action was ever taken.When I was brought my bill....I explained to her that this childish lack of consideration by the volume controller...who acted like a rebellious teenager...was going to cause them business...not just by me...but by others who were irritated.The restaurant was practically empty...and it is not surprise. It is run poorly...and seemingly without care.I tip well as a consumer. My waitresses at all restaurants who try hard...receive 40-50% on any check. Waitresses are so under appreciated....so I reward good service.Sadly...they will suffer...as I will not patronize arrogant establishments.By witnessing the many 2 STAR REVIEWS AND BELOW...i SEE MY EXPERIENCE WAS NOT THE EXCEPTION. Food is ok, but their service is terrible. There was one waitress on the floor, but it proved too much for her when one...yup, one, group came in. I was completely ignored after that, and kept having to go to the bar to order. Also, at the end of the bar, the staff just parks their big asses there, and takes up the best seats in the house. I like sitting at the bar and watching games, but every time I've gone there, it's always the staff taking up those seats and getting drunk for free....and for hours. Those seats should be available to customers. You don't know how to run a bar, which is why it's always empty there. Won't be coming back. Best of luck.
