I've been to A Bite of Maine's brick and mortar location about 4 times since 8/13/23 and I've always come away impressed with the quality of their lobster rolls. There aren't many eateries in Hampton Roads that offer lobster rolls, but A Bite of Maine is the best and only option when you're in the mood for one. Bite started out as a food truck. A couple of my friends took me out to their truck, which they operated in the parking lot of the Marina Shores Shoppes (at the corner of N Great Neck Rd and Lynnhaven Dr). A few years later, they opened their physical location in that same shopping center since the truck was doing very well. I didn't have a chance to visit them until things "slowed down" during the shutdown. That's when I took my mom out and realized their food was just as good as it was when they were selling out of their truck. Bite's physical location is relatively small. They have about 10-12 4-tops, plenty of decorations which allude to the ocean and beach and what not, while the kitchen is sectioned off in the left corner. There is no table service - you get in line and order at the kitchen, pay, they give you a seashell with a number on it, then you sit and wait. You come back up to the kitchen and pick up your food (when they call your seashell's number). It's a simple and efficient process since their kitchen works quickly. Drinks are offered in bottles and cans (no fountain drinks), so after you order and pay, you can grab your drink at the refrigerator to the left of the kitchen. Their venue has always looked clean, but with all the decor it's a little cluttered, imo. Regardless, Bite's facility looks good, and the turnover is high as people pretty much leave immediately once they've finished eating. The following are items that I've tried:Maine Lobster Roll (this is the standard to which all lobster rolls should be judged)Connecticut Roll (lobster roll without the mayo-based sauce, served with warm butter)Crab Cheesy Sauce Poutine Poutine with Loster Roll Meat Bite offers other items, like chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, shrimp rolls, fish and chips, scallops, crab rolls chicken bites, hot dogs, haddock bites and other seafood-centric items. The expanded menu has allowed people to return often in hopes of trying all their items. Finally, Bite also doubles as a seafood market. Their website boasts offerings such as sea scallops, frozen shrimp, Chilean salmon, haddock, snow crab legs and lobster tails. Bite has expanded immensely since opening their physical location and, from what I can tell, they've thrived in lieu of this. A Bite of Maine is a fantastic spot for seafood. Their lobster rolls are fresh, tasty and second to none. They have become a must-try Hampton Roads eatery, and I will definitely make it a point to visit them as often as I can. Thank you, A Bite of Maine! JV

This is such a g of a place for great seafood! The fries are sooo crispy and the the seafood roll is addictive to say the least. Tried the the clam chowder and love the amount of bacon but would love to see more potato in it but would order again. Staff are very friendly and helpful when trying to decide!

Little place where you order at the counter. They call your number when its ready. Limited seating, but we had no trouble to find a table. We liked what we got. Their take on New England clam chowder is thinner than most, and no potatoes. However, there are LOTS of tender clams and some nice bacon flavor to the chowder--we really enjoyed it. The Connecticut Lobster roll (butter instead of mayo) was also very good, tender and flavorful lobster. Last we tried the special of the day, a fried haddock--another winner! Bonus, their fries are fantastic!

Stop reading & just go already! I recommend the Maine Lobster Roll! So I first had this restaurant back when they had a food truck that would travel to the local breweries. The food truck hasn't been around for a while & I was craving their lobster rolls! I drove out to the restaurant & the food was as every bit as good as I remembered it. The restaurant itself is small & stays pretty busy - but the service is not only kind & helpful, they are speedy too! The lobster rolls are always served with a heaping serving and the rolls are buttery & perfectly toasted.

We called an order in on our way through because I was craving a lobster roll and so happy we did. My sister picked it up while I stayed in the car and when she got back said "girl you picked the right spot this stuff is Fresh!" There was a small issue with our order and the girl working the counter was so kind and quick to help us, really excellent customer service. I live over an hour away but I will grab a roll whenever I'm close by!

I dined here again today. I purchased their fried haddock and fries basket, and my daughter had their Connecticut lobster roll with fries. Fresh and tasty... and the folks who work there are charming and sweet. I appreciate everything about this place and enjoy my dining experience every time I'm here!

Was swimming at the Chesapeake bay with the dolphins, when suddenly had a craving for fresh seafood! Our friends recommended this little spot for carry out. It's cute and cozy if you prefer to eat inside too. The place was packed with the line spilling outside into the parking lot, but surprisingly the wait was not that long. The service was friendly and fast! We got their famous lobster rolls and a pint of clam chowder. The chowder had great had flavor and was perfectly seasoned, although our container was heavy on the broth and skimpy on the clams/potatoes/etc. But the lobster rolls were everything and more! Delicious pile of fresh lump lobster meat sitting inside a soft buttery roll - pure perfection. FYI - both went great a nice chilled rosé.
