7 Spices Soul Food With A Twist

Their food is so good.. the oxtail, pork chops and brown stew chicken are some of the best around. I also love their mac & cheese

This is the WORST "jerk" chicken o have ever had in my life. I've had jerk chicken in Jamaica, New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Florida and this place doesn't even deserve to call this jerk chicken. The side options don't include plantains, what Jamaican restaurant doesn't offer plantains? I requested extra gravy which is described as "extra gravy on your dish", extra implying more of what you ordered. It stands to reason that since I ordered jerk chicken, it would be extra jerk gravy. NOPE, it's beef gravy for like a pot roast or something. Not to mention, the portion sizes are shameful. I ordered a small because all the aforementioned places I've gotten jerk chicken from tend to be very very generous, but this was an insult to be that small and for damn near $20. I ate 2 bites just so I could say I tried it and make sure my review is thorough, but, I'm super excited to have immediately thrown it away. I cannot speak for their other other dishes, but they need to clarify their menu and let people know the extra gravy is beef gravy, and that they'll still be hungry after, well definitely me since I put that swill in the trash.

Hands down, the best Caribbean food I've had in the 757!!! Customer service on point! I sampled almost everything on the menu!!! Oxtails were the BEST!!!

The spot is by no means fancy. A few tables inside for Dine in. Hand made paper signs inside the front door. The interior is clean and very casual.The service was courteous, friendly and prompt. My wife and I went around 5ish on a Thursday evening. No wait but several pick up orders were handled during our visit. I ordered the large Jerk chicken with cabbage and greens (Rice and peas included) and my wife had a medium Stew chicken with greens and candied yams. This was hands down the most amazing Jamaican food we've had in our lives including Scotchies in Montego Bay, Jamaica! Chicken was tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned in every bite. I have never had cabbaged that tasty, tender but not soggy. We vow to support this business whenever we're in the Norfolk/VA Beach area in the future. My wife almost never eats all of her meal when we dine out and she absolutely demolished everything in that styrofoam container.

Mann I had high hopes for my first visit here. Unfortunately I order the pork chop dinner after it took about 30 min it was so salty I got an instant head ache! I couldn't take another bite! They told me they could make me another one of course I had to wait another hr for the same exact salty pork chop! The Mac and cheese looked and tasted like it was reheated from last week so dry I support my black owned businesses but yall gotta do better, i couldn't go back just the thought of it makes me sick smh but yall good 7 spices tighten up smmfh

Food doesn't disappointment at all. The food is made to order and staff is friendly. I've ordered to-go and pick-up. Oxtails can be a little more fatty than I like. Wish they gave hot sauce (would be good for the collard greens). However. It hasn't been a bother too me too much since I do not eat there. The inside is a bar type feel with tables and seats. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but nothing one can't figure out. Will continue to come and support!

My husband & I went to mps & we didn't like what we had so we never went back. But my husband found 7spices on google & when I tell you this is our new spot for oxtails !! You get what you pay for & more !

First time here, got the large oxtails with two sides. The oxtails were a bit fatty but were seasoned and cooked well, the Mac n cheese was dry and the collard greens weren't cooked down enough and were a bit tough but adding hot sauce saved them. This dish also came with choice of rice and beans or white rice. I would try another dish here

The food and prices should improve a great deal. I was very dissatisfied. Finally found a real Caribbean spot that does not disappoint. Happy Times Food Mart in Portsmouth. Please don't waste your time and money at 7 Spices.

The food is amazing, great casual atmosphere with great service . The staff is super friendly.
