29th & Green Bistro

The service was good but the food took a while to come out. We mentioned being on a time schedule due to needing to be at a concert soon but we had more than enough time to have a few drinks, an appetizer and entrees with time to spare considering we were alone in there with an hour to play with but we ended up having to rush to make it on time due to delays with the entrees. It's nicely decorated in there but the air condition wasn't working and it was extremely hot. Hoping to try them again and get a better experience because the locals swear by this place. Willing to try it again to make sure I didn't just catch them on an off evening.

PLEASE fix your reservation system. I made a reservation for today and showed up to a make shift sign to say they are closed until 3pm for a private event.

The restaurant near Commander Sheppard Blvd is all urban and upscale. The ambiance is hip, the decor is elegant, and the overall environment is excellent. Serving to the dining and sports club experience, 29th and Green Bistro hit a home run with that one. The food is also upscale; serving an elegant cuisine to a etravent bar a selection of bar menu options. Please go over the menu options carefully. I was disappointed with the portion size, so make sure you read the menu carefully. Service is good, nothing special. They do set you up quickly, offer you the drink menu, and make suggestions on different items. I enjoyed this visit and will be back. Happy Yelping.

I'll start with bad news. Came to visit some friends in Va. they want to go here. So we order. We ate (wasn't great). We ask for the check. The waitress ask if we wanted separate check. Sure we are two different couples. Check came back. I paid. Look at the tax and it like 19% tax charge in Va for a state that the Tax is no more than 7.5%. Look up reviews and come to find out they charge for having separate checks (Per reviews). And the staff didn't inform us that would be the case. That is totally wrong in my opinion. Nva been to an establishment that did this. Now on to the food. Way too much parsley on everything. Mac and cheese seem to not be prepared. The turkey bacon was cooked too hard. And there is very small portion. Fish had bones in them.Eggs were ok. Now the waitress did a great job. So overall a 3 stars.

I'm surprised I never heard of this place! It's so cute and very much so an aesthetically pleasing place to have mini photoshoots at. My table was heavy vibing to the music playing. If you're an RnB listener and like artists like Kehlani, Jhene Aiko, Rihanna, etc. this is the place for you!! Our server was nice and super considerate! She always came to check in on us at the right times and was really good at coming by and picking up finished plates and trash we had in the duration of our visit. The wait times for the food were not that long either. (But then again, my table was the only people in the facility at the time we went which was like around 1130 on a Friday.)The food is decent. I still liked each dish. They just all have potential to be even better. The cheesesteak egg rolls had a crispy outside (perfect!) and gooey inside from the cheese and meat that made my mouth water even more with each bite. It did however feel like maybe it was missing just a pinch more salt or maybe just an added flavor to really give it that wow factor. I still very much enjoyed it and consider this my favorite entree.The grilled salmon bites were also cooked pretty well. It had a kind of crispiness on the top, while the rest was flaky. I added garlic Parmesan sauce to it and it was delicious. The idea of serving salmon bites with wing sauce was innovative and new to me. I liked the dish a lot, but again, it felt like it was just missing that one flavor to really give this place its full 5 stars. The lobster Mac had a punch of flavor! Honestly.. maybe just a tad too much. It was amazing at first but it was that kind of dish where after eating a couple bites, it became overwhelming. And I was a bit disappointed in how tough the lobster was. I was very much struggling to get the meat out the shell and had a bit of a hard time biting and chewing. It did taste better as a leftover and despite some cons, I still enjoyed this dish and hope maybe the cook just overcooked it just this one time. I ate a good chunk of my food and almost went into a food coma. I ate the rest of my food as lunch the next day and it still tasted pretty good. Ngl, leftovers to me always hit better. Overall, I like this place a lot and would love to come by more towards the evening with the girlies or on a date with my husband and try their cocktails. This was just a celebratory lunch for my friend's reenlistment so I didn't drink this time, but I cannot wait to come back and make a second review about the cocktails and other food items!

Updated post hospital visit below.Online it says closes at 11:00pm. I made reservations for my wife and I at 10:00pm for a birthday dinner. I called to confirm and they told me they close at 10:00pm. On Google, and open table it clearly states differently. We had to find a different place to eat. If they fix this issue I will remove the 1 star review. I want businesses to do better and I really was excited to try this place out. So I decided to go the next day, Wednesday, April 17 at 6pm to 29th and green bistro and I brought my wife with me. We couldn't order the Philly cheese steak egg rolls because they said they were out but they had crab egg role instead. The egg roles came out and were completely burnt black on the outside. The Rasta pasta was very milky and watery. The macaroni and cheese had no flavor, less flavor than Kraft instant Mac......The worst thing about this experience is that the next day I had very bad headaches and diarrhea which I still have 3 days later and counting. I have not eaten anything since 29th and Green Bistro. My body is literally cleaning itself out and I'm staying in my bed because it's uncomfortable to walk. This has To Be Food Poisoning! Someone from management wanted me to email them and I did but I have yet to receive a response. I'm not looking for anything but for people to do a better job with their businesses especially when you are charging premium prices. My friend and I tried this spot on a Friday night around 8pm. Thankfully, there was no wait and we were able to quickly get a table. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and was very aesthetically pleasing. There was music playing but it was pretty subtle at the time we arrived and it created a nice vibe.The waitress came over right away and was very nice. We started with some drinks and ordered Mango Margaritas. Unfortunately, the drinks were very sweet and the little alcohol that was in it tasted like it was from the bottom shelf. Also, for an establishment that serves $30 Lamb Chops, I didn't think I would be served a drink from a plastic cup.Since we wanted to try some of their appetizers, we ordered the Salmon Bites and the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. My friend mentioned that the Egg Rolls tasted okay but the Salmon Bites were not great at all. You can order them fried or grilled, I chose fried, and the salmon was extremely dry. The saving grace was the sweet chili sauce that was paired with it.For my entree, I ordered the Blackened Salmon with mashed potatoes and broccolini. I started with the potatoes and they were extremely salty. I couldn't even finish them. Unfortunately, the broccolini was overly salted as well but was bearable. The salmon didn't taste bad but was definitely overly cooked. The blackened seasoning was very overpowering but it tasted alright. My friend also ordered the Seasoned Fries but there was no season on the fries and they were very hard.As we were finishing our meal, the music did start to get louder and the hookah smoke tended to be a little more present so we finished up and headed out. I really wanted to like this place and support a black owned business but unfortunately, I probably will not be returning.

Our server Nicole was also the bartender and she did an amazing job keeping up with the other patrons who she was serving at the same time. The brunch we had was hot and flavorful. Definitely will be making this a date night / brunch spot.

Spent $148.00 on food and was not given half the meal. Shift manager refused to refund me for items that they did not have. Said they were out of lamb chops, fish and chicken. Offered to give me bacon but not my money back. Totally Unacceptable.

Disappointed is a understatement of the service and food . We dined in for brunch today with a group of 8. As we entered there was only one other group of people in the restaurant. We ordered our drink which took about 15 min to come for half of the party . Our waitress left out the restaurant and the music stopped( I'm assuming her phone was connected to the Bluetooth speaker. The bartender can over to us and told us she had to go get Orange juice to make the remain drinks. As we waited for her the drinks sat on the bar premade waiting for the OJ. When it was time to order the restaurant was out of many of the items on the 'Brunch Menu" we were told to order from. We were told we couldn't do any substitutions which is fine. We waited another 45 mins before food began to roll out one plate at a time. Orders were incorrect and cold. I was one of the last people to receive my food only for it to be cold and not seasoned one bit. While in the restaurant many people came in sat their selves and than left due to not being acknowledged. The waitress was left by herself during " busy" time in the restaurant.
