17th Street Surf Shop

First time surprisingly. 17th Street Surf Shop is extremely popular, especially in the Summer during tourist season. The shop is well known at the beach for having a nice inventory of boards. The shops sits right off Pacific with a good amount of parking and it was clean. Signage excellent. The lot was over half full. Upon waking in my son and I noticed few mask by customers. Also inventory on the floor was maxed out. Typically great, but not so much during COVID time with little room to maneuver. There was absolutely no assistance on the floor. My son loved their merchandise and major surf brands they carry. He tried on a few shirts as the dressing room was available. He found a few he liked. Checkout was very friendly and a highlight. Items they carry are on the pricey side, but it's to be expected. If your looking for deals come late Summer, or early Fall. 3.5, rounding down.

High quality surf shop. Big selection, good brands and some things you don't necessarily see at other shops. Prices are what you should expect at a place like this. Not cheap but the gear isn't either. I don't skateboard but seems like this place is killer for that too. Picked up a really nice pair of Olukai flips

This place is cute and it's big and has plenty of parking right by the oceanfront on, you guessed it, 17th street. They have anything you'd need if you forgot something important on a beach trip, or, if you are a local and wanna shop around. I went in looking for a rash guard for an upcoming trip to Hawaii and found a couple in the middle section by the surf boards. I also tried on a bunch of bathing suits, covers, and beach clothes while I was here. They have a huge selection of sunglasses, beach wear, swimsuits, and flip flops inside. They also sell some Beach Bum sunscreen and lotions and treatments as well as a ton of men's clothes and board shorts (didn't look - trip was just for me). Staff are young surfer types.

This place has all of the surf brands that people love. The prices are typical for a surf shop and although it's not huge, it's a decent size for being close to the beach. There are quite a few surf boards to choose from along with skim boards.

She about went nuts in this place. Bought a sexy and high quality jumper and a great beach towel, but wanted to make them an offer for one of everything.The staff were helpful but not pushy, lots of goods neatly available for review, excellent lighting, etc. Good solid shop.

Love this place and visit every time I'm at the beach. They have an amazing selection of beachwear and skateboards and supplies. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. Love the Vintage 17th street t-shirts they had early this summer. T-shirts are well-made. They usually have lots of colors and sizes.Great skateboard shop too.

The merchandise was great, the store looks good, but after going in 3 times, never had a staff saying hi or even smiling at me until I approached them. Worked and managed snowboard/skateboard stores for 15 years, some in very touristic places (aka the Canadian Rockies), but never felt such a sad vibe in a store as in this one. Too bad, I would have probably spent a lot more money if I felt welcomed in the stor. signed - A very disappointed surfer, skateboarder, snowboarder - thinking these guys will probably never get out of Virginia Beach cause they hate tourists so much.

This is not a great store. I bought two sweatshirts here, one fit and the other didn't. Once the first one fit I took both tags off. We'll they look tue sake but are made from different things and the second didn't fit. Took it to the store and they wouldn't exchange or help in any way. Even accused me of washing it. It's a shame too cause I'm a local!!! This local is not supporting this local business from now on....

An upbeat and fun place to shop. Nice selection to choose from. Quality merchandise. Will definitely be back.

I spent over $65 on two long sleeve T-shirts. They both have holes in them. They are inferior quality, cheap and they know that the tourists are leaving town so they ripped them off everyday. My family spent over $100 on poopy clothes. Some of which are out of town also. This store is making a lot of money with multiple locations and they sell inferior products and they don't stand behind them. Go somewhere else anywhere.
