I was blown away by how good the burgers are here! The homemade potato chips are also top-notch. Their bourbon selection is fantastic, offering everything from standard pours to rare bottles to try. This place is a gem, and I highly recommend it I'll definitely be back more than I probably should!

1631 is an eclectic bar and restaurant. They open for coffee and breakfast sandwiches Monday thru Saturday. They have a more expansive breakfast menu on Sunday that they are planning to expand to Saturday. Overall, the food is very good across the various menus from morning to evening. My table had a variety of food. The burger, burger patty and brisket was very good. Their sauerkraut was wet and very good. 1631 has an eclectic selection of whiskey as well. They have a variety of normal brands, but also have the oddity of Weller style CYPB, of course, for the right price. I recommend 1631 for the expensive. If you like it, you'll be back.

We've been here a few times for lunch. In the mornings they run a coffee bar! Location (4/5): location is inside a plaza, so there's always plenty of parking. The only down side is the restaurant space is on the smaller side, so if you're waiting for an order it's a little awkward because you basically have to stand right next to seated patrons. Also if they've got a lot of diners and you want to eat there, it could be a wait.Service (5/5): the staff are always friendly and attentive. You're usually greeted as soon as you walk in the door. When I was waiting around for a takeaway, the manager or owner asked me how long I was waiting and went back to talk to the kitchen staff. He walked back out and gave me an update and my food was out quickly. I was impressed by that quick service!Ambience (5/5): super cool detail everywhere, from the ceiling to the shelves to the signs. To me it reads steampunk speakeasy, but that's me. It's definitely a fun place to dine.Food (5/5): the burgers here are excellent! Everything was hot to the table and also hot for takeaways, well seasoned and cooked well. We definitely will be back to try more of the menu.

After the server missing our burger out of our order, the manager was very apologetic and gave my husband a $20 gift card after he had to go back for my Top Shelf burger. Thank you for making it right!

Sophia and I headed here for lunch. They opened up shop months ago at the former Barking Dog. Lucky for us, there was only one other table occupied so service was easy. Inside, the decor is beautiful. Two flat screens are on the left side of the wall and they had music, both current and past, blasting on the speakers. I didn't get a good look at the bar, but it appeared spotless with drinks on display. Within a few minutes, we were ready to order. No apps for us so we went straight to the main course. I selected the Bourbon Bacon Jam burger which came with smoked gouda cheese, bourbon bacon ham, homemade pickles and garlic aioli with the burger slightly pink (Sophia ordered the Old Fashioned). Both of our burgers came with homemade chips. The burger was good. Each ingredient worked well with every bite. I don't know which was better: the pickles or bacon jam. As far as temp goes, half the burger did look pink (which was on the medium well side), but that's the way I like burgers and steaks. My only negative is their chips weren't seasoned, but other than that, the meal was good.Unfortunately, there is a reason why the rating is at 4 stars. Even though we both liked our meal, the food seemed to be overpriced. At $17/18 per burger, you would expect the food to be mind blowing and the best thing ever put together. Don't get me wrong we both came out satisfied with the product, but the price was a bit steep compared to other places in the area. Maybe because the restaurant has bourbon both in food and drinks, but that could scare a few customers away.Overall, it was a very good stop with top notch service and food, but I do worry if the prices could hurt the business in the long run. Hopefully I'm in the wrong.

Here for a second visit, and happy to be here! Nice set up. A tad dark, and awkward walking in since everyone looks at you when you walk in. But, nothing to their fault. The darkness is a vibe for them. Some would say an aesthetic. I'm obsessed with the quesadilla!!! The funnel fries are delish as well. All the burgers we have had were delicious! Good ingredients and great buns! The support for local staff and teachers at Poquoson School district is very much appreciated! Thank you!!!

Absolutely phenomenal! You walk in and think this is just gonna be a bar with ok food, but that is not the case here! I got the queso dip burger and it was the best burger I've ever had! The meat is seasoned so well, which is so rare at a restaurant. The queso was delicious. Their homemade chips, amazing! Even the kids burger was delicious!! My ONLY critique would be the steak bites. They were good, but I wish the seasoning was more impactful.Service was also great! Highly recommend this place! Also if you like bourbon, they have flights and special cocktails. Very unique.

Great spot my friend and I came across by accident! Great drinks, food and service. We didn't know what to order but the bartender knew exactly what we would like since we didn't drink bourbon before. The drink was light and refreshing without being too harsh as we expected. Great choice! Their food was simple but great. They make their own potato chips that were crisp and seasoned! Plenty of parking too. Not large enough to support large groups but definitely a good size for a few detox get together.

A burger with bourbon is always a winning combination - this hidden little tavern in the "Poquoson Farm Fresh Shopping Center" offers a good variety of both.I tried a Barrel Proof Burger with their home made chips, both were deliciously fresh and flavorful. The service was great... both fast and friendly. I did not try a bourbon although their selection was quite large and other options were also available. The atmosphere was pleasant, dark and moody. It's very small and I imagine it fills up fast at times, the website states they're not taking reservations at this time. I was there for dinner on a Monday night, the bar was full but a couple tables still available. They're closed Tuesday and Wednesday for dining but open 7 days a week in the mornings for coffee. In summary, the burger was extremely good although a little pricey in my opinion... the bourbon selection was extensive and worth a trip in for a try.

Terrific restaurant serving outstanding burgers and homemade chips w/ a robust bourbon selection. A large selection of specialty burgers (you can also make your own), tasty sounding appetizers, and taco options which sounded great (we went specifically for burgers so didn't order); provide plenty of options to choose. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Outside is pretty unassuming, but inside is clean w/ a speakeasy/hipster vibe. Interior isn't huge, w/ a handful of high tops, regular tables, and a small couch sitting area if you just want to go for drinks...obviously bar seating too. I like finding great local eateries, and being fairly new to the area, it's nice to have a local burger spot close by. I'll definitely be going back!
