Joe D. "I found myself craving BBQ the other day so I decided to stop in. While I missed the ambiance of Red, Hot, and Blue playing blues music, the food at Route 60 was pretty good. The pulled chicken was pretty good and the sauce was flavorful. The real winner(s) for me were the sides. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and delicious. The waffle fries were crisp and well seasoned. The cornbread was fluffy and sweet. Finally, the hush puppies, were crisp and warm. I feel that I see two different styles of hush puppies and I much prefer this one. Overall, it is a good barbecue joint."

I think it's a fabulous idea and there were all sorts of cute little things inside. They have terrariums - which I am currently obsessed with since I kill every other type of plant I buy - they had candles, little dolls, clay making, etc. Tons of stuff. Check it out if you are a crafty type person, I think you'll love it!"

Took us longer to get to Virginia Beach than we expected, so we arrived just as the tour was starting, but they were kind enough to make us feel welcome and that we hadn't missed anything.Tour is just the right length of time. No boring spots. Informative in an entertaining way, and what's not to love about the tasting? We got to try four of their bourbons plus a vodka and a gin. All very good. I surprised Husband with a purchase of the "premium" tasting which included a small pour of another bourbon plus a glass to take home.Since we can't purchase their fine products in NC, needless to say we spent quite a "few" bucks in their shop LOL. In addition to bottles, they have canned "mixed" drinks as well. They also sell hats, and shirts and even a smoker if you want to make your own smoked drinks, which we do. Bourbon lovers, highly recommend this, whether you're staying at the hotel or not."

Before reaching the ticketing counter, I noticed that they were collecting Unwrapped toys until December 14th for a Toys for Tots Drive. Admission is very affordable, so bring cash. It is $1 per person. They gave us a map of the museum and another map of the park (with a 5-mile hiking trail around Mariner's Lake. They have scavenger hunts and stickers for kids. Since it was our first visit, the Vietnam Veteran recommended us what to see in a particular order. I enjoyed learning about the history of Monitor and looking at recovered artifacts. My favorite parts of the museum were The Miniature Ships of August and Winnifred Crabtree and International Small Craft Center. The latter had smaller boats from all over the country. The museum shop sold toys, apparel, and tons of books. The most interesting souvenirs were the desk pyramids and scrimshaw bone box. I was surprised they didn't have any shot glasses or wooden steering wheel or boat ornaments!"

We first had the coconut with frosting. The quality ingredients (butter!) translated well into a mouth watering cake. Presentation was simple but pretty, with icing poured over then covered with flaked coconut. We've had a few amazing, designed birthday cakes from here as well. I've sent photos of things I found online and Tawanda has exceeded expectations every time. People remember those cakes and still talk about them. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the small space is packed to the gills with all the essentials if you are staying in a beach house nearby and need something. You can easily stock the shelves here with milks, eggs, essentials, foods, sunscreen, etc. I like that they have a sandwich counter where they make fresh sandwiches daily and you can grab them to go - including delicious pimento cheese and macaroni salads. Pro tip - if you arrive soon enough in the day you can have one made fresh for you with just the items on that you like. They also make fresh donuts daily which I haven't had bc they're always gone by the time I get here - but one day will be the day. I've heard they're amazing. Carissa K. ""We have neglected the truth that a good farmer is a craftsman of the highest order, a kind of artist." --Wendell BerryNothing is better than fresh, local produce. Who wants to buy old fruits and veggies from the grocery store instead of shopping at an open-air market? From early May through November, the Suffolk Farmers' Market (SFM) provides a plethora for our senses. Approximately three years ago the SFM started a visitor center that has some nice features, including a pavilion and ceiling fans. Here are key features:-local produce-baked goods-artisan crafts (e.g., jewelry, bags, wood, etc.)-dog biscuits-live music-plants-petting zoo-grass-fed meat and eggsThe SFM is open Wednesdays (3 p.m. - 6 p.m.) and Saturdays (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.); personally, I would recommend going on Saturdays as the selections on Wednesdays can be sparse. It is not the biggest market around; but, more so, it's about the community and supporting local businesses. Check it out!"

I have tried a few different variations since they offer a variety and honestly, they have each been very good. Great buns, great cheese and of course the burgers themselves have all been great! Came out extremely fast, as expected. We shared a hibachi table with one other family and we were the only ones there on a Friday night. Perhaps it was the weather. Nonetheless, service is great on a slow night. Environment was about what you'd expect from a hibachi place, outside is a little sketchy, but don't let it deter you. Cristina Cici B. "I came for the pie and soft serve ice cream. I was not disappointed. Sweet tooth squad, the hype is real!Shoofly Dairy Bar gets its name from the PA Dutch dessert Shoofly pie and offers soft serve ice cream made with Farm Friend milk (non GMO, from happy grass fed cows,) among other menu items like Hawaiian shave ice, snoballs etc... Specializing in natural and organic ingredients, staff are well versed in their extensive menu offerings of what is natural colored, sugar free or made with organic cane sugar. The customer service received from this local Mom n Pop style shop was fantastic, which is merely the cherry on the top of my 5 star review. We got a slice of the Shoofly pie, a Whoopie Pie and a soft serve to share.... Prices are very fair for the size of the serving. The pie is a Mennonite family recipe and is absolutely delicious. Are you also one that takes your dog everywhere with you? Well, there is something for them too! It's called the Pup Cup. It's a snoball topped with peanut butter flavor, real beef or chicken broth and a small dog bone - my beagle did not sleep on this, she wolfed this down (and did not savor it...) but no complaints from her, just puppy dog eyes begging for more."

Shari S. "Wow... wish I could give zero stars. It was just THAT bad.First of all, when we entered the "restaurant" (and I use that term loosely), there were three tables. Period. Two were taken by customers who were dining, and the third had laptops & paperwork set out, where a man, either a store employee or the owner, not sure which, was taking care of business. So there we stood awkwardly while we waited for a table. Never once was an attempt made to clear out the makeshift desk so that we could actually sit. Of course, we had the choice to sit outside, but since it was 85 degrees, we passed.Once we were seated, the sales spiel began. Clearly the aim of this place is not to serve meals, it's to hawk products. And hawk they did, from the two containers of "sample" honey on the table, to the "snack" of tortilla chips we were brought (where we then learned all about them, the sodium content, the sea salt, etc.). I ordered the peach tea, which was brought to me in a partially filled paper cup, no ice. Just lukewarm tea.An interminably long period of time later, the waitress came waltzing in the front door with a tray. I guess they aren't connected to the kitchen? It was very odd. Anyway, she brought two of the three meals, explaining that she didn't have room on the tray for the third. So then we sat awkwardly for over five minutes awaiting the third entree, a salad. Finally the man who had been utilizing the table "desk" waltzed through the front door with my friend's salad, explaining, "you ordered a very labor intensive meal. I had to pit the olives by hand." Whaaat?! So there we sat with our food and began eating it, and again, both of the individuals working there came to the table and repeated the hawking of the items sold in the store. So you'd think now that we were finally free to enjoy our meal, right? You'd be wrong unfortunately. The same man then sat at the table "desk", picked up the phone, and called someone (presumably a creditor or supplier) to argue a bill. Loudly. This would have been rude from another patron, but from a store employee? It was absolutely ludicrous. At this point, we were rolling our eyes at one another, simply wanting to escape. We struggled to eat our food on our disposable dishes with a disposable fork, no knives provided of course, and finally just gave up, but not before my friend bit into an olive that had not been pitted. The food... it was okay, I suppose, but the portions are teeny tiny, and they skimp terribly on ingredients. For the price, this just wasn't okay. My turkey biscuits, salad & tea came to $18.Suffice to say, the disorganization & flightiness of these two were astounding. Let's put it this way: I was glad I had cash and didn't have to hand over my credit card.Never again. I feel for the unsuspecting tourists who may wander in. Yelpers, you've been warned."

I walked into "The Flower Lady" in Kemp's River shopping plaza without the corsage and told them what happened and what I needed.I asked if we could keep the slap bracelet from the original corsage but build a new one around it?I was told "yes, go get the corsage"I ran out and came back about 20 mins later with the corsage. The lady designing flowers in the back asked me what I wanted. I was so grateful that she would do this for me last minute--literally...that I gave her free reign. I told her what the dress colors were & she took about 30ish minutes and gave me a BEAUTIFUL corsage. This was my son's very formal with a date and he's 15 so I wanted everything to be perfect.I'm so grateful for this company and will use them for all of my flower needs from now on--so should you, trust me!"
