Vinh Long Food To Go

I came across this place when I was looking for a place that sold banh khot. It reminds me of some places I went to in San Jose so I was excited .There are very few chairs and tables in here and I think most people get the food to go. What we got- Banh Xeo: The pork was so tender and not dry. Banh xeo was crispy and the vegetabels were so fresh. This probably is the best banh xeo that I've had in San Diego. I think this was $12. - Banh Khot: Banh Khot are like mini pancakes/cupcakes with shrimp and coconut. These were very crispy and not greasy like some other banh khot that I've had. Vegetables and nuoc cham dipping sauce were fresh as well. - Bun Bo Hue: I was debating on Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu and ended up going with Bun Bo Hue. They give the spice in a separate little bowl so you can add in as you want. I really liked the noodles and beef in here.There is a small parking lot here and some street parking. We got lucky that there were very few people here and we were able to park right in front of Vinh Long. Friendly staff and definitely a hidden gem. The other nice thing is that if you aren't super familiar with Vietnamese food and the names, they have a menu with the dishes in English and Viet as well as pictures. Made me feel like I was at home. I'll definitely be back. TLDR: good banh xeo and banh khot. Also cash only and no ATM.

What a delicious hidden gem in City Heights! Seriously! If you don't know where it is, you are missing out! One of my friends told me about this place and I had to try! But you have to get there early, because they do run out of things. I love their noodles! Great flavor with vegetable and tofu! I'm trying to eat healthy. They also have some sweets like sesame balls with black bean paste. The man working behind the counter is really nice! He knows what I want when I walk in...and some mornings, if I get there around 10, he shakes his head, and I have to get something else.Cash only. I REPEAT CASH ONLY!

Our group came here for dinner today after other planned restaurants closed. The foods are yummy, authentic with very good price (no pricy at all) Lots of choices for our craving of Vietnamese food-street. My favorite here is for the snails/shells (ốc hương/chem chép nướng), canh bún, red bean porridge (cháo đậu đỏ)Tonight first time I tried the white bean dessert here (not in my picture), have not had that dessert for awhile, it was in a big cup and they cook pretty fresh hot... Staffs were very friendly and nice. **Bring cash here coz they only take cash

Cheap authentic Vietnamese food for a great portion of food. My favorite things to get here are the Banh Khot, Banh Xeo, and the Rice porridge, but everything I've tried here is good. Service is fast and quick, and they have a couple of tables for you to sit at. This place mostly caters towards to go orders due to the limited amount of seating, and even when they're busy, they bring you your food in under 10 minutes. Most of their menu is in Vietnamese so I normally just pick my food with their picture menu.

LEGIT. We got the Long ga (chicken rice porridge), pho ga (chicken pho), bun rieu (crab noodle soup).Everything was damn good. So flavorful. Hit the spot. Sent pics to my best friend who is viet and she said "wtf it looks like you're in Vietnam". All I can say is. If you like/love Vietnamese food. Highly highly recommend.

If you want authentic Vietnamese food, this is the place to go after 5pm. They have variety of food that you can order. We have banh xeo, banh khot, Oc Huong, canh bun and com bo nuong and everything is great. Banh xeo and banh khot is crunchy and dipping sauce is great. Canh bun is ok with a lot of toppingsThere are tables for you to sit inside. Good customer service.

Absolutely love this place for authentic Vietnamese food. Hole in the wall joint with great customer service and even better food. I love that they close late so it's a perfect after work meal for us when I'm craving some comfort food. The soups are to die for! I always get the bun bo hue and my husband gets the water spinach soup or bun rieu. All super delicious. Highly reccommend!

This place is still one of my favorite places to go if you miss the 8pm "we're closed signs." This place will still pull through for you! I got the snails (garlicky, buttery and served with a side of Vietnamese herbs). Also got the tried and true pork vermicelli bowl with egg rolls. All the veggies, noodles and sauces were on point. Egg roll was a little let down but nothing can compare to a chau just blocks over.

Definitely a hidden gem. I've always wanted to come into this place but it was never the right time, either they were closed or I've already ate dinner and then noticed that it was opened. Yesterday (9/6) i went right when Yelp said it was open; 6pm. The inside has definitely seen better days but that was the best part, you can tell this Moms & Pops restaurant been here for a while. The layout of the food was buffet style so you can choose what you'd like or look at the pictures for menu orders and aside from that everything else was in Vietnamese. I did not dine in but placed my order to go and I knew exactly what I wanted just from looking at previous yelp review and that's what I ordered; snails! It was delicious I should have placed two orders! I'll definitely come back & maybe try some other items on the menu.

Do NOT miss this place! Authentic. Tastes like gramma made the food! Try the baked chicken quarter! Cash only.
