Impeccable vibes with audiophile vinyl, oil paintings, model cars, and other idiosyncratic obsessions of the chef all over the place.

One of my favorite spots to grab some great sushi is Village Sushi in UW District. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. We waited about 15-20 minutes around a table. I've been here once before and couldn't wait to come back. The interior is so warm and cozy and truly a great date night spot. We ordered the V-Roll, Dragon Roll, Dynamite Roll, and Godzilla Roll. Everything was so delicious and fresh. There was an ample amount of fish within each roll especially the Dynamite roll. The hamachi (yellow tail) was so fresh and definitely a standout. Highly recommend village sushi for your next date night or dinner spot.

The sushi here was pretty good! The service seems a bit variable though. When we came, the server could barely understand my friend and I (she kept asking us to repeat or responding incorrectly) and we weren't sure she was hearing us right either. We didn't get 100% accurate what was ordered either, so that kind of confirmed the issue. It's a small spot and seating is pretty tight. I'd probably opt for take out here next time to make sure I got what I ordered, but the food was good.

I prefer to leave reviews over 3 stars but unfortunately while we were here I overheard a food inspection, and the owner may have made a joke that did not sit well (I could have heard wrong, so I won't repeat the joke.) I got the udon and California roll to be safe, but the California roll had a wad of compressed plastic inside of it! Udon was cold and tempura soggy but nothing bad inside of it like the California roll. The servers here are very nice, and I hope this place can turn itself around. Sometimes

We decided to try this place without knowing anything about it beforehand and it was such a pleasant surprise! Love how the place is decorated, it has such a great ambiance especially at night. We got the seaweed salad, rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll and the sushi regular set which also comes with salad & miso soup. The miso soup tasted a little watered down and bland but the sushi was so delicious. One of the best sushi I've had in a while! Service was nice & fast, the sushi chef brought the set & patiently explained all the different cuts of nigiri and where they were from. Overall, such a good experience and a great spot for a date night!

I'll just say that this place was pretty disappointing. The biggest issue was the wait time. We waited very very long for our food to come out, and so did everyone else, as the people next to us were complaining about the wait time as well. Plus, the price was not worth the amount of food you get. The fried chicken was sub par, and you could definitely get something better at a near by chicken stand. We were still hungry at the end, and decided to leave as it was not worth waiting another hour to order another sushi roll. Plus, the waiters did not check up on us even once which was unfortunate. Overall, I highly recommend trying another nearby sushi place if you ever consider coming here.

I came here for dinner on a weekday, and it was not busy. Upon entering, I was greeted by the chef and server, and they allowed me to sit anywhere in the restaurant. The restaurant is small, with dimmed lighting and lots of art. Service is excellent, as the server periodically checks in on me. I ordered the Spicy Salmon roll, Negi-Hama handroll, and Paradise roll. The food took less time to come out; it took roughly about 10 minutes. My favorite roll has to be the Spicy Salmon roll. Sounds basic, but I loved how spicy the salmon roll was. Usually, it tends not to be spicy when I order a spicy salmon roll at other sushi restaurants. However, the spiciness level exceeded my expectations at Village Sushi. Overall, the fish's freshness and the rolls' presentation were top-notch. The meal was close to $40 for three rolls, and I was very satisfied with the results. If you love eating salmon and want a kick to it, I highly recommend the Spicy Salmon roll.

My daughter and I have been working are way around a variety of Seattle sushi places and this was our favorite so far. Excellent quality rolls of all kinds just the right balance between elements. Service was good and offered a cozy, old school vibe. Would skip the hand rolls next time in favors of specialty rolls however as seemed like better value and more interesting. Loved the chill guitar music and high quality sound system often lacking in even nicer places it seems.
