This place is a hidden gem. It opened at 7:00 and filled right up. I must be the last to discover this place.I don't know how they remember everything on their menu. There was so much to choose from.As soon as I sat down I was given a menu and water. They had four people in the kitchen and three people handling the customers.I had the "ultimate omelet" with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. They gave me a choice of 5 cheeses. Then I had raisin toast. I usually don't see this option. The interior was all wood, finished wooden counter, wooden booths, pretty ritzy for a greesy spoon.I wish I had found this place sooner. I would return.

No muss no fuss local diner. Friendly fast service. Great outdoor seating although only a few tables and near a busy highway. Gigantic menu for breakfast and lunch.

Nice little cafe, very welcoming team. Gave me a sense of a family run establishment. The food is like any typical breakfast brunch cafe. I liked that the food was not overly salty like other places. The corn beef hash was right on the mark in terms of flavor. The hash browns were toasty, some were a little more crispy/burned than others but nice crunch. Not pricey but the place can get busy. It was quite noisy once the morning crowd showed up and I could barely hear myself. Overall I would go here again for a townie your breakfast.

Is there a better breakfast diner/restaurant in Boston area... I don't think so! I dream about their variations of eggs Benedict. My latest favorite is "the southern" (eggs, biscuit, sausage patties, gravy). The "hungry man" breakfast platter is so big even my 200 hundred pound, 18 year old son is full after eating it. One critique... pancakes could be a less dense... more fluff & puff. One tip... Get there before 9:30am on a Saturday or Sunday in order to avoid a 20-30 minute wait.

I highly recommend the Village Cafe for breakfast & lunch! The omelet was so delicious, my husband devoured it before I could take a picture. My turkey club had fresh lettuce & tomato & had homemade turkey breast. We also had homemade chips (served fresh & warm) as a side with the club. I took a Greek salad home and it was big enough for 2! A must stop when in the Newton area!

Solid breakfast with lots of choices. Best biscuits and gravy I've had in Massachusetts.

Great place to go to if one does not feel like going the 5 or so miles to head downtown. Village Cafe is open super early, has a great variety of dinner food, and they even serve drinks bright early. Great place to go and hang out at if off of work. Service is great too and the place has a local family-type environment.

We stopped by for a quick breakfast and it was fantastic. Not too busy, but it got busier as we were eating. We got the biscuits and gravy, village classic, and some fruit. The French toast was good but the biscuits and gravy were so good. It was a little on the saltier side, but the fruit was a good side to have. We will definitely come back!

Went with a group for breakfast/ brunch. Didn't feel much like breakfast food, so I got a chicken finger sub buffalo style on a whim. Now, I wouldn't normally do this as I grew up in Buffalo, NY, and I'm usually left disappointed but it was the best buffalo style chicken finger I've had in the Boston area. The ambience is classic diner. Everyone else's food looked good, too.
