Villa Nueva Bakery Cafe

Cute cafe! They have the BEST palmiers- the outside is caramelized and insides are flaky. The staff are very nice and friendly. They were nice enough to split the breakfast burrito for us.Taste wise the breakfast burritos were ok! The iced vanilla latte was also ok and was a little sweet for my liking.

Nope unfortunately after years of enjoying their tasty food they've gone very bad on service with extremely "soup nazi" type attitudes. It's no wonder they're losing business and much slower than in years past.A server shamed me for asking about a menu item and then accused us of returning an item before - which has never happened. They initially refused to replace the item and then said they'd have to speak with the owner, then there would be additional cost and they were put out by doing that. It was a very weird experience and truly felt like their culture of service is customer is always wrong and summarized by the printed sign above the bakery case "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone"...hmm If the customer is always wrong then the customer reserves the right to not eat there again too.

Out of all the places to eat on the island, this place is just okay. It's not bad, just ok. They do have a great selection of pastries, but you'll need to get there early to have some options. As the day goes on, the selection is slim pickings. The staff is super nice, and the overall atmosphere is good. Not really a place for large parties as the inside is pretty small, and there are not many options outside. Cheers.

I was in town visiting my daughter that had just arrived back from deployment with the navy. We were walking around Coronado and stumbled upon this place. The wait wasn't bad to get seated & due to light rain we sat inside. Now I don't know the market in this area but it seemed overpriced for what we received. Between the simple waffle with strawberry with whip and my daughter's omelet & drinks our bill was $52 & with $12 for a tip well it shot over $60 being from Orlando I guess it just shocked me a little bit for what an easy breakfast here cost is all. I'm used to this being no more than $20-25 bucks. But hey most of u will just say well welcome to California Food was great A+ Service was decent C+ seemed like most were in highschool and this was just a weekend job for them. Way over priced for what u get imo

So a few things...this is a bakery. We went knowing that and wanted to eat breakfast so we paid a pretty penny for our meal. We needed off the resort food but we didn't get off the resort pricing. It was almost $80 for our breakfast. We went on a Tuesday morning and found seating for our party of five (2 adults and 3 kids) fairly fast. The kids loved the pancakes and I absolutely loved my croissant sandwich with potatoes. It was just what I needed as I was ovee traditional breakfast at that time. I wanted a caramel latte but they were out of syrup and they only had one person working espresso, so I opted for regular coffee which wasn't the best. It was very watery and flavorless. The service was great, from front to back of house. It looked like a team effort keeping everything tidy and clean. Truly wanted to try more pastries but maybe next time. Would return but I would have my kids split plates maybe to get the price down for us.

They are expanding their business hours for the summer, and have new items for dinner that are so good!! If you're visiting Coronado during the summer make sure you go to the Concerts in the Park on Sundays. Don't forget to pre-order food for your picnic Concerts in the Park, so you can pick it up and take it to the park and enjoy it while you listen to all the wonderful bands that come to our town.

We stopped in to grab some Danish/muffins prior to hitting the road. Service was friendly. The Danish were okay, not as light/fresh tasting as I would expect from this sort of place. We took a couple of muffins for the road/home to Arizona. They were dry and fell apart once the paper was removed. Appears their breakfast is good from the other reviews but we were not impressed with the baked goods.

Amazing turkey club sandwich! Best on the island Easily split for lunch for two. Lots of turkey, piled high on brown bread with cheese, tomato, lettuce and of course bacon

Food was amazing, the service great too. Loved the enchiladas suizas and the muffin. The location is great too
