Verzenay

This is a croissant review. I used to tell everyone the best croissant in the city was Southern France Patisserie. Which is amazing but rather pricey. Plus their hours are limited to weekends. But my croissant craving is not! Enter Verzenay. Their croissant blew me away today! Fluffy, pillowy center contrasted with a flaky, crispy exterior and a satisfying bottom "crust". Big fan of the caramelization underneath. And they deliver! Win win. Only 4.25 each & they're the size of your hand! So glad I found a bakery for my weekday croissant fix!

Opera cake was exceptionally dry and overpriced. Coffee was ok, I would have stayed for a refill but it was pretty noisy in there. This place has a high reputation so I will have to come back and try their croissants and baked goods that everyone raves about.I heard back from them after sharing my less than stellar experience. They were quick to resolve and I came back for the croissant. They're awesome. Best in the area.

food is always amazing! i love the turkey sandwich and the chicken salad, both are awesome! their drinks are also usually really fun (especially the seasonal ones) and recently i tried their matcha for the first time and it was so good!!

Yum!! I can't believe it took me so long to finally come to Verzenay. Their regular food menu is small but mighty. I had a mushroom Gruyère melt that was absolutely delicious. Their highlight is of course the French desserts and pastries, and the French Silk Pie was one of the best pies I've ever had. Super cute spot, too. And it was PACKED on a Sunday morning, so good for them!

We have come here often. The croissants, both the chocolate and plain are very crispy/buttery. The plain croissant, is slightly sweet, which balances the buttery flavor. We have also had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant with egg, cheese and sausage. If you are looking for a heavier meal, the egg croissant sandwich is a must.

This place is ammmaazzing with their desserts! I did not know that a vegan cake can taste so delicious! I don't usually like coconut flakes but this cake was so good!! The chocolate flavor was delicious and the cream was not overwhelming. The presentation on the cakes were beautiful with the flowers. The croissant was unique in that it was semi-crispy, this place got me to like crispy croissants versus the normally soft, flaky croissants I eat. I would definitely go back and try more cakes next time and hoping the cafe opens until later.The cherry cake was pretty but it tasted ok, lol.The opera cake's chocolate was melt in my mouth and just the right amount of sweetness and had a peanut butter wafer at the bottom, which was alright as I don't really like peanut butter.

The pastries are outstanding, but unfortunately I avoid this place because of the service/staff. I have visited about five times...it would be great if they could take a leaf out of their sister bagel shop's book!
