Mood: Can't go wrong with Tacos! Literally an unexpected stop to grab a light dinner bite and was highly satisfied. I've heard of this place of course as it does have many locations but never been and I think that is my own fault. Now I know better!!!!!Place was a total vibe check. People were nice, enjoying the food and the atmosphere. My type of low key spot. Food was delicious and I highly recommend for lunch or dinner. So many options I'll be going back again and again. Food: chicken & Waffle 100/100: completely blown away with flavor. That slaw and syrup was a unique mixture that I thought wouldn't work well but I will fooled. Could have one of those everyday. Also I'm already a peppercorn gravy fan so yes and yes. Brisket nachos 10/10: love me some queso cheese with nachos. Brisket was super flavorful and tasty. No concerns at all except I wanted more. Will return to try more items in due time.

Velvet taco is a go to for us for a quick and reliably tasty meal! I like their unique menu offerings- if you're looking for super authentic Mexican food this is not the spot, but you will find varieties such as chicken and waffle tacos, or fried rice tacos. I like the overall vibe and aesthetic here too, it feels modern and fun. The people at this newer East location are friendly, and they have some outdoor seating and an attached parking lot! Can't ask for much more in East Nashville

What a fun spot to grab some tacos! Several people had recommended I stop by Velvet Taco, and I can see why they love it.I placed an order for takeout on a weeknight directly through their website, and it was ready for pick up 20 minutes later. All of their tacos sounded interesting, so we opted to try quite a few! These are pretty large tacos, so six split between two people was plenty of food. My favorite was the Spicy Tikka Chicken! I love the fusion of flavors - and the chicken tenders were extra crispy. My husband's favorite was the Mexi-Cali Shrimp, and we also both enjoyed the Chicken & Waffle taco. I also have to shout out how organized and thorough Velvet Taco's takeout operation is. I've ordered from several restaurants in the area that struggle with packaging and preparing food to-go in a timely manner. I've even had multiple restaurants forget a side or a drink. Not only was my food ready exactly when Velvet Taco promised, but it was packaged with care, and still hot after a 10 minute drive home. Every taco was accounted for, and that's a win in my book. I love that this location is open late on weekends, and can't wait to dine in soon to get the full Velvet Taco experience!

We went here for some tacos for lunch. It's a good place to go if you want some specialty tacos. The service was good. Our food came out in under 15 minutes. The interior was clean and comfortable. They do have a private parking lot with about 25 spots. They have an outdoor patio with several tables. Thay have some canned beers if you want a beer. The tacos are around $6.00 a piece, but I had 3 and it was enough to fill me up. I did notice that all of the toppings were freshly prepared. The tacos were fresh and flavorful. The picture of the tacos are from the bottom to the top as follows- #8 Korean Fried Rice 7.8/10 ) #9 Quesa Birria 2/10 ) #11 Grilled Steak 8/10 ) #12 Angus Brisket 8.5/10 ) #15 Grilled Salmon 8.3/10 ) #17 Mexi-Cali Shrimp 9.5/10 ) They also have a "WTF" Weekly taco rotation. My wife didn't like the shell of the Birria tacos because of the shell, hence the 2/10 rating, but I tried a couple of bites and I rated it a 7.5/10. I will definitely go back.

Look friends, you can swing an old Yamaha yardsale guitar anywhere in Nashville and practically hit a taco shop of some kind-but is it a good one?I submit that Velvet Taco is just that and more. My lady and I just relocated to the music city and were in search of some good grub on a rainy Friday evening-we had a friend coming in town and we didn't want to cook, we also didn't want to spend a lot of time at a restaurant waiting on food and fighting the crowd.We thus selected Velvet as our evening stop. We'd been by several times whilst navigating Gallatin here in EAST and the moon and stars aligned and it worked out so we pulled in.May sweet companion is glueten free, this presents a set of challenges akin to finding an good affordable rent house in Nashville, difficult but possible if you persist. We were greeted by the GM Megan who took time to explain the options availble to my lady and she felt seen, heard and respected. Megan was great. Even greater were her recommendations and this, the QUESO is GLUTEN FREE! Well, slap a sombreo on me and call me by another name! This was worth the price of gas alone. We orderd up our fare: queso, a buffalo , spicy shrimp, salmon and chicken taco. Megan even came over and shared the good word about other gluten free restaurants-again she was awesome.Here's the truth, you have more than enough food options in EAST, but Velvet Taco is a great spot for good food, quick, fair price and great service. This Velvet Taco location is one of the latest additions to the East Nashville food scene and I am beyond pumped to have it in the neighborhood! I have been dreaming of these massive tacos and that elote for too long! This Velvet Taco is stand alone and features a good size indoor dining area and a great outdoor covered patio. Both spaces are fitted with hightops, standard tables and bar/communal style seating. Parking is limited, but is plentiful for the space. The way Velvet Taco works is the same as most fast-casual spots where you order at the counter, they prepare and then call your name or bring to your table. It is an efficient and easy process, which is great, as I want to ensure I get tacos in my belly as quick as possible! Speaking of tacos, the menu is separated by protein including chicken, veg, beef, pork and fish. They also have some great starters and sides, plus a dessert to go with your tacos if you are into that kind of thing! The tacos are hefty, so I usually go with (2) tacos plus a side of elote. This usually leaves me just the right amount of full. For the tacos, my go-to's are the Fish n' Chips and the Slow Roasted Angus Brisket. Both are absolutely phenomenal in their own way and make me so dang happy from first to last bite! While those are my number 1's, I have tried and enjoyed the Cuban Pig and Buffalo Chicken. Overall, really enjoy Velvet Taco and pumped to finally have them in the neighborhood!

We love Velvet Taco in Midtown and are excited there is an East Nashville location too. The vibe is always cool on the inside/outside (nice patio for dogs) with good music playing. Counter service where they call you up over an intercom, and all the workers seemed happy to be there. The food: A bunch of tacos fused with other foods (kobe burger, chicken & waffles, etc) make this taco joint unlike many others. They do the flavors incredibly well here and their sides are also incredible and you get a ton of queso/guac when you order them. I highly recommend trying the chicken & waffles taco which is my favorite.Give Velvet Taco a try and I highly doubt you'll be disappointed!

I went here the other day with 2 other guys and we all enjoyed it a lot. The inside of the restaurant is well lit but not overpowering and the outside was nice and open. The food was excellent whether it was their take on chips and queso or their different tacos. The flavors and combinations are very creative and represent good fusion food. Finally, the service we had was great. The person we ordered food from made good conversation and had a smile on their face. Would recommend this place if you're looking for some good tacos.

Its a good option for late night hunger and cravings. Its good that they have gluten free and vegan options available too. The chicken tikka taco is dry and uninteresting. Most of the tacos are too oily. But again, its a good one for late nights as its usually the only option available.

Great place for late night eats, I came here one night because everything else in the area was closed. Velvet Taco is a chain, I've been to other locations in different cities. It's nice to know you'll be getting a high level of quality. The menu here is huge, but you really can't go wrong here, everything hits! They also serve alcohol!
