My party of 3 came in on a Saturday evening and were seated quickly. It was busy but there were a couple of tables opening up. Our server brought water and told us to order off of an iPad. Some might find this strange, but I like the freedom of being able to browse at your own pace and order when you're ready (there's also a button to press for assistance/water/bill). We ordered fried potstickers as an appetizer, which I would skip next time. But the 3 entrees we ordered were absolutely killer. We could not stop raving about how delicious it all was.We ordered the orange chicken (which was actually mushroom), Mongolian soy beef, and Kung Pao Tofu. There were no leftovers because we vacuumed it all up! They're pretty sizable portions too. We ordered sesame balls for dessert, which were nutty and sweet and the perfect cap to the meal. I will be dreaming about this meal until I can come back and eat it all again. This is amazing vegan Chinese food, I'm so grateful to have a stellar vegan option in Chinatown.

Gotta say this place just continues to be one of the best Chinese joints for us as vegetarian foodies in Chicago. I had dinner here again tonight and I have to up my review to 5 stars. Today, it was a party of 6 with family and friends and it was just awesome, as always. Not surprised, but I'm happy to have introduced my friends to the place. They have this tablet ordering system, which is cool, but also kinda ok. I guess you have to get used to it. They were forgetting items we had submitted a couple of times, but did bring them out upon reminding them. One thing is say is they really shouldn't charge for hot sauce, but they charged $1.50. why do you nickel and dime a customer paying a $120 bill. Seemed kinda silly.Appetizers:Cauliflower - loved it crispy and flavorful Spinach and Mushroom Soup - goodHot & Sour Soup - meh... Hit throat too muchDumplings - great flavor and gravyEntrees:Braised Eggplant - classicKung Pao Chik'n - really good, but could've been spicierMongolian Bif - nice base tasteHouse Fried Rice - kind of meh...Idk why I'm doing the intentional misspells, but just a reminder that these are all vegetarian items.Pick the top notch stuff and keep on coming back. That's my plan.

I was excited to try this because it was listed as a must try in Chinatown Chicago. To be honest, the food wasn't but the prices are ridiculous. I ordered an appetizer and a main dish and it came out to 30 bucks. An order of 4 dumplings alone was 9 bucks. I wouldn't come back to pay those prices again.

This is first vegan restaurant I've tried in Chicago's Chinatown. After a indecisive search for a vegan, Veggie House was the choice. The place was pleasant, clean and inviting. We were directed to a table and a tablet to browse through the menu and to place our orders. We ordered sweet and sour chicken: which was crispy and chewy and tasted good but noticed that the chicken nugget was a small piece of cut mushroom deep fried in batter (mostly fried batter). Beef fried rice was surprisingly good, better than I thought it would be. Mongolian beef was surprisingly flavorful with the mixture of green onions, red chili, dried noodles, which was tasty. The overall dining experience was great, they had pretty decent portions, a little pricey but overall it was a great first vegan experience in Chinatown. Would definitely like to try more on their menu, worth a repeat visit.

There were soooo many things I wanted to try from Veggie House, but we stopped by so many places in Chinatown I had to just choose 1 dish so I wasn't too full. I'm so glad I decided on the Kung Pao Tofu because it was the best tofu I've ever had!!! I have a low spicy tolerance, but it was too spicy at all. I still thought it was so good. Even my non-vegetarian boyfriend loved it too. Although this is a sit down restaurant, you order on an ipad which I didn't love. The ambiance inside was casual and pretty quiet, but I enjoyed my food so much I really want to go back.

I had see a lot of good reviews about this vegan spot. As a vegetarian, it caught my eve and really wanted to try it since it difficult to find good Asian vegetarian friendly food. It's located right in the China house square about 5 min walk from the red line station. We went here for a lunch just the two of us. Service here is great! The server brought us a tablet to put in our order and the food came out pretty quickly. We had the crab rangoons, steamed dumplings, and for the main dish we had the the pad Thai. The crab rangoon and dumplings were great. Ordering the pad Thai is where I think we went wrong. The noodles were absolutely doused in a sauce that was too sweet and too sticky. If you do plan to go here, I say don't get the pad Thai but the apps were great!

This place is a hidden gem. Despite its name and the white, sterile interior, the food is actually so delicious. Some of the food doesn't even taste vegetarian bc of how flavorful everything is. We use a QR code to find what we want and the server takes our order. But definitely recommend the mapo tofu and eggplant dishes!!
