Vega Caffe Mexican Deli

Love this location and whenever I come here, the owners and staff are extremely nice, and the food is always good. This location is right across from the ballpark and has been opened for a few months now. The food portions are very large and can often be shared. They make everything fresh, including juices and smoothies.They have a breakfast and lunch/ dinner menu. I have had the carne asada nachos, which I really enjoyed, and get a half order because it's so big. Full order is definitely enough for 2 people to share. I love that they are a touch spicy but not too much. The tirtas are good too, and can are pretty large. The Cubana is my favorite but the asada is good as well. The tortilla soup is something good to grab when you want something to warm you up, I add chicken to it since it doesn't come with it. They also have a few desserts and salads which I've heard good things about but haven't had a chance to try yet. I can say I have not had a bad meal here, and would recommend you check it out if you are in the area or before a game. Since the at are so new I don't know if they have their liquor license yet but I know it was in process.

Tried this place for the first time after reading the reviews! Ordered their chicken torta and #2 combination plate which consisted: chile relleno, cheese enchilada and rice. Very chill and calm atmosphere, especially considering it being right next to Petco Park. Staff were friendly and casual! The food however, was not a vibe for us. The chicken torta lacked flavor and was pretty much a normal chicken sandwich. The enchiladas were severely undercooked, which the sauce was cold, no melting cheese (my favorite part of it). I was confused when that piece of my plate was cold while my chile relleno was super hot. We definitely want to give this place another try, maybe their burritos and tacos are their specialty? 1 star for service1 star for cleanliness

I had chicken enchiladas, which were good. My friend also enjoyed her carne asada torta. It's a nice place with a great staff. They have a very extensive menu, and I would go back.

Enjoyed our torta and birria very much. Big sized portions. The cucumber agua fresca was made fresh to order was very delicious as well. Great service.

Stopped by after comic con and this place was so tasty! They have a lot of great veggie options and the strawberry banana smoothie was superb. I loved the veggie burrito I customized and others enjoyed their mushroom quesadilla. Everything tasted so fresh. Everyone was really nice, even when I called back the next day to get their smoothie ingredients. Looking forward to stopping by again!

This is a great place with a huge menu. You want it, they got it! Great Mexican food of course but also smoothies and fresh squeezed juice, sandwiches, breakfast all day, etc. The place is family owned and they're all really nice and do a great job. Very friendly and good service, plus they own a few other places in San Diego you should check out.

Fantastic cali burrito and service! Was a little nervous with Lolita's being gone (padres game staple for me) BUT this place is amazing!

I am a Padres season ticket holder so when I heard Lolita's was shutting down I was like well damn. I loved getting takeout and going straight into the park. I went to Vega a couple times now and both times the food and service were amazing! The second time the cashier recommended a torta. It was as long as my arm and so tasty! I would definitely recommend!

Had the Chili Rellenos and a small pork soft taco. My quest in San Diego has been in search of the best tasting Chili Rellenos. Tried 5 other restaurants in town; this is my sixth and last place. It was wonderful and delicious! Really large size topped with sauce and two cheeses. Very nice flavors. Highly recommend this dish. Definitely found the best place in town.

Wheres the beef???A milanesa Torta and a agua fresca was $24. That is quite high but it is right across from Petco Park. The torta was basically a very thick bread, ONE razor thin slice of Milanesa (little flavor) veggies and mayo. Nothing special about it, tasted like bread and mayo for the most part. I tossed half of it as I did not enjoy it. Bring the price down or change something about the torta. Seems way too bready. Agua fresca was ok. Seemed like a fruit juice from concentrate
