we went to vashon winery on a recent trip for the free tasting. unlike the palouse winery down the street, the wine tasting was free, and the owner gave a really detailed and complete description of the wines.you can tell he really loves what he does, and that that love is present in his wine-making. we tasted several good wines, the semillon, tramp harbor red, and anniversary stand out...especially the anniversary blend, which was inspired by his own wedding wine (purchased a case of his wedding wine and had a bottle every year on his wedding anniversary for 12 years, and now has the anniversary wine on his anniversary).we really wish we had a chance to try the chasselas doré, a wine made with island-grown grapes, and his cabernet franc, but they were sold out!we were on a budget, so we would have purchased some of the reds, but opted to purchase the cider he makes there. we haven't cracked it open yet, but we are expecting good things.

I bought several bottles that didn't really last past the weekend. File that where you want it. The other review that I read noted that this place has a proprietor who "loves wine". Very true, and essential for quality of any kind. Not love of profit, but love of the craft. And the love was obvious to everyone who shared that wine with me. Now I just happened upon the place while exploring Vashon Island. But if you're going for a picturesque drive along the island's winding roads, you'd do well to stop by and enjoy taste as well as the company. And I mean company in the human sense of the word.

Mmmmm.... Love all the wines (and cider) I've tried here! Cute red barn with picnic tables outside. One cider and three wines in the free tasting and you can pay a la carte for the reserves. Worth a stop!

The wine was really good for being a local run shop. The ambiance was adorable and the owner was incredibly sweet with lots of options to taste. You Ca. also pay extra for their more expensive wine tastings which we ended up buying a bottle of the cab.

Really quaint winery along Vashon Highway. The wine is okay and the wine maker is very nice. I think this is a great spot to visit on a day trip to Vashon.

Nice vintner. Not at the least bit pretentious. Good Rosé. Great cider. Table wine good, but pricey for table wine. It is worth a side trip if you find yourself on Vashon Island for the day or for the weekend.

If you are looking for a local experience, great wine, and some storytelling - this is the place! Mr. Irvine is a gentleman, a connoisseur, and a true local with a story to tell! My wife and I were exploring Vashon due to some downtime after a wedding in the Seattle area, and mark our experience at Vashon Winery as a key moment in really capturing the charm of this quaint island. Don't miss this authentic little treasure( Mr Irvine seen here actually writing us a recipe)!

The wines tasted like they'd sat in the heat for months - not good. In addition, the owner is capitalizing on an ad in the local wine brochure he knows to be outdated - no free tastings. Not a good experience at all. Skip this one.

My husband and I happened upon this little wine shop a couple years ago when biking around Vashon. On a whim, we stopped to taste the selection. The owner was very friendly and informative and gave us a good understanding of where he was coming from in making his wines - where the grapes come from, why he chooses the ones he does and how they taste so good! He has a lot of experience and passion, and it is reflected in the taste of the wines! It was a wonderful and charming experience, and the wines are reasonably priced. I stock up every time I visit!
