Vanessa's Cocina Mexicana

CRIS was awesome! She cooked our food! All the food was delicious and fresh! The chile relleno plate was amazing! My brother ordered French toast and he loved it! So not just Mexican cuisine! Fresh Jamaica was awesome! Coming back soon! P.S. they even sang happy birthday to my son! Complimentary birthday pancake!

It's Saturday morning and we wanted to take my Mom to a nice breakfast. Vanessa's came up with flying colors on Google. We ordered an appetizer and breakfast. Breakfast arrived and we received El Especial #2, Mollete, and Chilaquiles sencillos BEFORE the appetizer. Although the restaurant wasnt busy, they couldn't even bring water glasses after requesting them. The Chilaquiles were over charged even when canceling meat and beans since our guest was vegetarian, and then felt as though we were tageted because it was a "burden" to ask to make the Chilaquiles "sencillos" which is what the waitress offered. We felt as though we were targeted- the tortillas were served almost after we were done eating, the appetizer showed up well after our entee arrived and we weren't allowed to cancel it. We are a HUGE Hispanic family that lives in Chula Vista that love to experience new restaurants the area. We were truly disappointed at the lack of communication, compassion, and service. We will never recommend this restaurant to any of our friends and family members in SD County

The food was amazing homemade/ authentic .. Delicious!! Our server was very sweet and attentive. We will definitely be coming back with the kids ..

First I thought that I left a review of Vanessa's.Well let me fix this right now!! I have my go to place on Broadway in Chula Vista but my place was packed on this particular Sunday. Well not wanting to wait we took off for Vanessa's.When we arrived the wait was not long. We sat down right away to the smell of Mexican food. The food was very tasty ,my wife had huevos rancheros and I had chilla killers!! I will be back to this place soon !! Enjoy

This place need servers, second time I go and leave waitress look at you sad for 10 minutes . Service suck they just look at you and they don't even say hello will be with you . I think he owners need to attend this place SAD.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with this Mexican eatery. I was going to have a large bowl of menudo, but when I was the rajas omelette, I just had to go that route. The omelette came with roasted poblano peppers, onions, corn, cheese, and topped with a cilantro cream sauce, a drizzle of sour cream, and freshly sliced avocado. The omelette came with a side of chilaquiles, refried beans, and three corn tortillas. The omelette was terrific. The poblano peppers were outstanding inside the omelette. The eggs were well seasoned and tasted great. The cilantro cream sauce was very tasty and complimented the omelette very well. Both, the side of beans and chilaquiles were great. The beans were cream with a nice robust flavor and good seasoning. The tortilla chips on the chilaquiles remained crispy and the red sauce was flavorful.It was a great breakfast. Vanessa's offered a lot of good cooking. The menu is quite large and has a lot of good home cooking. The eatery offers a lot of inside space and non outside.

The food was delicious. I ate the enchiladas verdes. My woman ate carne asada gorditas and chicharron gorditas. They were excellent. The service was professional and warm.

This is the 7th time I have come to this establishment. The food is always excellent, but the service is lacking. They need to hire more wait staff. Today, my fiancé and I waited for over 20 minutes just to get someone to come tell us they could not help us because it was not her area to serve. Then we waited some more just to have someone else come over to tell us that our server is on her way.That's over 20 minutes sitting and waiting, and not even a glass of water offered to us.We were about to walk out when our waitress came to take our order. Unbelievable. The food is excellent, but they need to hire more staff to suit the size of the place. Why grow if the service will be poor?

Food is delicious and the service is the BEST. Sweetest ladies:) I ordered the French toast and the green chilaquiles big were delicious

My experience was excellent, good service and delicious food like homemade... I recommend the cafe de olla.
