Ambiance 1/5Food 5/5 Service 3/5Upon entry we were taken aback at HOW LOUD the music was at 2pm on a Saturday. Then the hostess took 10 mins per party to seat everyone, I'm not sure what was taking so long but it was ridiculous! We couldn't talk or really hear each other so lunch was basically a bust for us. But the food was good, surprisingly! In summary if you are under 30 this is probably a fun spot for you, but as out of towners in our mid-30s...not the spot for us.

We were seated for 30 minutes and no one came to take our order.We didn't receive food to comment on the quality.

Before entering, I had to have my bag searched and then got wanded by a security guard. While he was polite and professional, I wondered what kind of clientele they get that requires such a measure.I was there for a group event and for mixed drinks we were offered two options: Drink #1: Lemonade (no alcohol), and Drink #2: vodka-soda. My conversation with the bartender went something like this:Me: "I'm not a fan of plain soda water, could I get the vodka with Coke instead?"Bartender: "No, I can't do that."Me: "But the alcohol is the same. It's just a different button on the soda gun when you top off the drink."Bartender: "I understand that sir, but that is not part of the package that your group paid for."Me, shaking my head in disbelief: "Well then, can I have the lemonade (Drink #1) with vodka (from Drink #2), then?"Bartender: "No, that's not one of the two drinks you pre-paid."So yeah....I understand why bars are sticklers about alcohol, that's where they make their money, but to give me grief over my choice of MIXER!? Either this bar's management is so strict with their bartenders that they're afraid of getting in trouble for substituting one carbonated mixer for another; or this place hires bartenders who have absolutely no concept of customer service.The rooftop bar is open-air with a nice view, but with the next-level snobbishness combined with TSA-style security, I have a feeling that they've positioned this place as a trendy, "you-should-be-so-lucky-we-let-you-in-here" vibe. Chicago is blessed with many rooftop bars, this ain't the only one.

"What would life be like if we just did frat party games forever"? Is what the creators thought. Once you're done being identified and wanded down, you're allowed to go in.. Totally not a mood stretching event ahead of a corporate happy hour.. I get the concept, but I guess I'm not the demographic they're after. Not a bad experience, but kind of strange with friendly service. The staff is great, the place isn't my crowd. So my review is from a curmudgeon point of view. Food was decent, considering it was essentially catered bar food. Drinks were good, but again, what is the concept there?

The rooftop at Utopian Tailgate is one my favorite places to view the city. I've never had a bad time there especially when there's other events in the city going on. There are plenty of outdoor games to play with new people and a variety of creative drinks to choose from. The music is great, the servers are quick to assist you, and always offer many options. Definitely recommend UT as a place to hang out with your friends, especially, when it's warm out!

I haven't had food here, but this spot is great for day drinking and taking in the city views. Though the section where most of the tables are have blocked views because of the covered fencing. Also be warned that you will have to go through a line of metal detection and bag checks prior to entering the establishment. Once there, however, there's plenty of games (in exchange for your id), drinks, and music. If you're lucky, a shot girl will shoot a squirt of liquor into your mouth from a water gun!My particular drink on this day was the 'mi casa' off the menu- didn't realize that this was a) $20 and b) blue. $20 is pretty ridiculous for old town prices, and no where in the description does the drink hint at having blue curacao or anything that make the drink blue.Otherwise a fun time and really big mix of crowds!

This is a great place for Friday or Saturday night. It's on the fourth floor and you have a great view of the city. The outdoor area is very large and there's bags, beer pong, and some other games you can ask for like Uno and Jenga. It doesn't get too busy until around 9 or 10. The nachos were ok and can feed up to four people. Server was very friendly and personable.

I used to love this place, but I went recently and after buying my $17 cocktail, I stood at the bar outside and was told that was not allowed because it might attract bees. We then found an open table and within two mins of sitting down were told they made a mistake and this table was supposed to be reserved. This all honestly would have been fine if the cocktail wasn't ass, alas it was extreme ass. With sadness in my heart, I must give a 1/10 score to this establishment.
