We heard they had Santa, Mrs. Klaus, and reindeer so we wanted to bring our child. Unfortunately, his nap time did not work with the schedule! They also had holiday vendors. Regardless, it's a cozy, nicely decorated brewery with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The 2nd floor is only for 21 and over. We chose fresh air outside where they have a fire pit and many overhead heaters! Perfect for our family and dog!Ordering was easy with 3 people taking orders. They're known for their sours. I also enjoyed their hoppy IPA and mulled wine ($10) so more than the beer.Overall, I would go back!

Good beer but I'm not happy about the lie of Caturday. $20 to hold a swaddled cat for 5 minutes, the flier wasn't honest at all. Should have mentioned it was donation based or that the cats weren't free moving in the enclosure.Good sours though and nice environment. Most places here have no parking available since it's narrow streets.

If you're a fan of sours, this is the place for you. I wanted to try most (if not all) of the breweries in the area, so I was glad that Urban Family did offer a few lagers.I'll admit that this was one of our many stops while we were sampling the local breweries. While I'm not crazy about sours, I was pleased to see that there was indeed a beer they carried that I could try. I was also pleased that you have the option to get a portion less than a full pint. A 5-ounce glass of beer was really all I wanted, and sure enough, that's what they had and that's what I got.A solid choice if you're in the area - again, especially if you're into sours. Plenty of comfortable outdoor seating and friendly employees.

There are a decent amount of breweries within walking distance of this one so this place could be one stop in your brewery-hopping itinerary. Food trucks park here daily to serve food since the brewery does not have food, and they have a calendar online with the schedule. There is indoor seating, additional seating upstairs, and outdoor seating with heat sources and fires for those colder days. There's no dedicated parking lot but there is street parking in the residential neighborhood. My first drink was the treehouse in the city ($10 for 10oz) which had a high ABV with strong flavors but was sweet and easy to drink. My second drink was the lighthouse in the woods hazelnut & vanilla ($10 for 10oz) which was also good. I sampled this one and the orange & zest and I liked the former more which was what I settled on. My third drink was the crash test mummies ($3.50 for 5oz) which was lighter than the previous two and was decent. If you're looking for other options, they also have cider and even a sour beer slushie. The servers were friendly and let me sample different beers before committing to one. This place is also dog-friendly and kid-friendly!

One of the top 6 breweries to visit when in Seattle. If you're a sour beer fan, Urban is a the top brewery for sours with Holy Mountain coming up a close 2nd. You need to visit Urban Family if your in this mecca of breweries in Ballard where there's 10 breweries or distilleries within a 4 block area.

Our favorite brewery in Ballard to take our toddler and get food at the rotating food truck stationed outside. They have great sours, which I like, and everything else my husband loves! Great place to drink beer, talk, and play board games. They have a fire pit and heating lamps over their picnic tables for year round fun.

Love the service and the decor here, actually, too. I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband is, and enjoys it. They just started UrBEAN Family Coffee there as well, not sure if it's only on weekend mornings or every morning, and they have a nice, small coffee drink menu and a complementary (as in goes well with coffee, NOT "complimentary" as in free) food truck scheduled at the same time. This week it was donuts. Yum!

The last brewery we visited while in Seattle was Urban Family Brewing.Urban Family Brewing Company is a small, family-friendly craft brewery in Seattle, Washington that specializes in hazy IPAs, sours with local fruit, and other styles as well. While we were there they had a DELICIOUS smelling food truck stationed outside, but we had dinner reservations so didn't want to spoil our meal.We got a flight of their fares, covering each of the menu sections, to get a feel for what they are doing (spoiler: they are doing it right).Zeek and Destroy:A Double IPA brewed in collaboration with Zeeks Pizza. Hazy and delicious with a medium body and a bit of chewiness (oat/wheat perhaps in malt bill). I got some light notes of guava, medium-high candied orange peel, and ripe mango. Delicious IPA for sure.Let's All Go to the Lager:A Foeder-Fermented Corn Lager. Let me tell you, this was our favorite of the flight and one of my favorites of the entire trip where I had my fair share of beer. Dry and crushable with good corn flavor and just a hint of foeder woodsiness. I wanted a four pack of this, but sadly they didn't have any!Treehouse In the CityA Barleywine aged in Westland Whiskey barrels. Caramel, molasses, and bourbon vanilla lead the flavors. The depth continues with a bit of oak and almost dark cacao nibs. Alcohol warming and a hint of astringency. A Barleywine I would order again. Stove-altine:A Coffee Stout brewed in collaboration with Old Stove Brewing. They added Maple, Coffee from Onda Origins, and Lactose. This is a maple mocha if I ever did drink one. All the adjuncts clearly come through without one single one overwhelming the others. The base stout / coffee stout definitely shines with just a hint of maple, lactose sweetness, and additional coffee depth.Brain Thiller:A Sour with Pineapple, Coconut, and Orange Zest. If you have ever had a Painkiller cocktail, then you know exactly what this sour tastes like as its spot on._____

Stop #5 on our "pub crawl" didn't disappoint. 20+ selections available and lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. A very clean place that we all thought was well run. Both of their barrel aged offerings, a barleywine (Treehouse in the City) and stout (Lighthouse in the Woods) were above average beers. I'd rate this place the second best brewery we visited on our jaunt. Pretty neat that they also offer a beer slushie, but it was a sour so we passed. Worth the visit for sure, and the brewmaster was a cool guy who I enjoyed talking to. Off to our last stop...Lucky Envelope Brewing

The beers are fine, the space is really nice, but every time I go there are kids running wild or screaming. Infants are one thing, but I don't plan on going back to a brewery that feels like a daycare.
