It's been awhile since I've enjoyed Japanese cuisine in the heart of downtown Seattle. Most often the food around this area is either overpriced or extremely hard to walk in and find a table. This wasn't the case for my sister and I on a Saturday afternoon around 4:30/5:00 we were generously greeted and seated at the bar. Food: 4.9/5Service: 5/5Cleanliness: 5/5Quaint, cute, great quality fish and wonderful environment that isn't too loud. By 6:55, they allowed customers to still come in for dinner although they close at 7:00. Food worth mentioning:- Chirashi bowl: for the amount you pay $22, you will find a load of fresh, melt in your mouth fish on a bed of rice. You get ebi, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, tamago. Also comes with 1 bowl of miso soup (made in house)- Rainbow roll: oh so fulfilling with 8 pieces and plenty of fish!- King salmon & toro nigiri 2 pieces per order. The fish was so amazing... Would definitely recommend it. - Sukiyaki Udon: great udon noodle texture, chewy, broth was a bit too sweet but very flavorful. We love the crown daisy, soft beef. Highly recommend this noodle soup. - Hot sake for 2 $14! Overall we had one of the best Japanese dinner at a very affordable price. $120 for all of that food! No wait, simply able to walk in.

Went to dine near the Pike Public Market. Pretty much most of the places closed at 6 so options were very limited. We were walking away and saw this place. There were seats at the bar and were welcomed in. Menu mostly consists of sushi items and don't have much kitchen menu other than simple such as tempura & gyoza. Unagi don- $18 (3 pieces) never had unagi don with avocados & unagi was cold Poke bowl- $23 on the sweeter side but it was fine with me. Served with mixed tuna & salmon. Service size was good. Both came with miso soup, perfect for a cold night. I also ordered gyoza steamed. It typically comes deep fried but they were able to accommodate for me. Server was nice; looked like a small family business. Bathroom itself is clean, but walking to the bathroom, you walk through unorganized kitchen area.

mmmmmm Sushi in Seattle....Seriously I couldn't come to Seattle and not get sushi or chowder. So obviously before we left...I had to convince my boyfriend to stop and get sushi (he's not a fan of raw fish...not sure why???)Love that small spot with fresh fish - ended up order California rolls for the hunny and a combo with sushi and a roll plus the toro. Everything was fresh and delicious! Love that its a small spot just outside the Public Market so it's not busy and you can sit and enjoy your meal!! YUM!

Small restaurant, but amazing food!!! I believe it was the owner who prepared most of the items, just one guy but well worth the wait! My favorite was the Unagi Don Bowl. Not many customers, so it felt like a nice, calm environment with the background music playing.

For small groups, this is a nice quiet gem, right off of post alley. It is quite small, and I ended up sitting at the bar, as the other three tables were taken. A man smoking outside sat near the entrance, and filled I ended up the dining area with smoke. Luckily I was leaving when this was happening, and they didn't care to do anything about this. Super basic place with good prices. My chirashi was fresh and $26. I thought it would be more "pretty" as I saw others' pictures. Service was decent. Nothing fancy

Urara is a cute Japanese restaurant located within walking distance of Pike's Place. It has minimal space with seating in front of the sushi chef, at the bar, and 4 small tables (for 2) against the window/wall. It seemed to be only two people working there, the chef and a lady who was serving. Both did not interact as much with us but they were kind when entering and leaving. As far as the menu, they have a small menu so there aren't many choices but that allows them to focus more on the quality of their food.My husband ordered a shrimp tempura roll, I ordered a spicy tuna roll, and we shared an order of gyoza. The gyoza had a nice flavor and a light crispness to it. The sauce was also good that we had to double dip, sorry. Everything was sooooo fresh and delicious. It was the freshest sushi I've ever had, so of course we finished it. You pay for the freshness, so it might be pricey for some but it's good for a quick bite.

Grabbed lunch here with a friend. The couple running it were very kind and friendly and attentive throughout our meal. My friend got the chirashi and liked it and I had some sushi that was pretty good. I tried the spider roll and veggie maki rolls. The vegetarian options were more than I expected but seemed different from what I found online. We both had miso, which was good too. I had some hot tea, which didn't seem like the powder was very well mixed in because I got several clumps on the bottom. Aside from the tea though I'd order the same items again. It's a little shop right by the market with limited seating (sushi bar maybe 6-8 seats and 4 small tables) so it feels quaint and intimate.

Be Aware of Uni. We recently dined there and the sushi chef recommended sea urchin sushi, claiming it was very fresh. When the sea urchin sushi was served, we noticed it had a much darker color than what we had previously eaten, the texture looks messy. We initially attributed this to the winter season, trusting the chef's assurance of freshness. However, upon tasting it, we detected a strong fishy odor, raising doubts about its freshness. When we questioned the chef, he insisted that was how sea urchin tasted. Despite our concerns, we paid for our meal and left a tip, only to later experience vomiting at home. This was an unpleasant dining experience. Businesses should refrain from selling stale sashimi to customers and instead be honest about the quality of their products.
