This is my first time dining here & they didn't disappoint. The food here is excellent & the service is even better! We started with a Crunch Roll & Garlic Edamame. Main course, Chicken Teriyaki made with Chicken Breast & Mushrooms. It is served with a choice of Miso Soup or Salad. I chose the Salad. Again, great food & good quality ingredients. I definitely recommend! Support your neighborhood business & try it out! :-) Shout out to Chris, who provided attentive & friendly service today!

Ordered take out. We got quite a few rolls. Ceviche roll: really yummy. One of their signature rolls. It was like a perfect blend of great sushi with a Spanish Mexican twist. Alaskan roll: simple roll. Perfect for my mother. Very fresh. Spicy tuna roll: typical spicy tuna. For my dad. Though the tuna was really great and they were not skimpy on the amount of tuna. Jalapeño hamachi roll: I love hamachi. And this guy had jalapenos baked into it. Was just such a nice punch of heat. Overall not bad. But rather pricey in my opinion. But everything in Torry hills is expensive. Not a five star tasting but very decent. Worth a try to see if it compliments your pellet

Ordered takeout. I ordered the new fire roll and the mixed tempura appetizer. The food was good. It is pricey compared to other sushi restaurants in the area. I would give them a try again.

Unisushi has opened a new North County branch in the Torrey Hills Center to pair with its brethren in Chula Vista down in the South Bay area. The suite had a black and red color scheme with a capacity to seat around 60 customers including the bar. The menu was five pages containing all of the standard fare you would expect for a Japanese restaurant. The sushi offerings were spread across two pages. For my meal, I picked two Signature Rolls and a Hand Roll. The maki rolls were Protein and Lemon & Cilantro. The first was rice-less with yellowtail, tuna, salmon, crab salad, and avocado wrapped in soy paper and cucumber. It was cut into six large pieces. The second contained crab, avocado, and cucumber in the middle topped with salmon, avocado, lemon slices, cilantro, ponzu, and chili sauce. The hand roll had eel as the filling. The Protein Roll tasted ordinary while the Lemon & Cilantro Roll had lots of tartness. The sauce in the Eel Hand Roll made for a nice sweet finish. The best feature was the presentation of the three rolls on a large wooden board that was a cross section of a tree trunk. The food quality and quantity were average for the prices. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my dining experience at Unisushi.

I am disappointed by this place. I was excited to have a new sushi place open up in the shopping center because I love sushi. It had a ton of reviews at the Chula Vista location, so I assumed it would be good. I ordered the crunchy, dragon, and spider roll. The serving was small and it just didn't taste fresh. The crunchy roll didn't even include any cucumbers, which is an essential part of a crunchy roll. There are better sushi places to go to, like Sushi Exchange or Gami Sushi. I ordered to go, but the workers were very friendly when I walked in. The place is newly renovated and looks super nice. I feel bad because it is usually empty inside, but the food isn't anything special. I definitely wouldn't come back here.

New sushi restaurant in Carmel Valley! They have a daily happy hour with some pretty affordable specials. We ordered a bunch of rolls and sashimi. They were all fresh and tasty! I enjoyed the California roll, especially.

OMG! I had a take out order and the server licked his finger to open the plastic bags. Grossssss! And then he grabbed the plastic folk and spoon which were not covered by plastic package and touched my food box. I just lost my appetite. Also, I requested teriyaki sauce on the side but the sauce was not with the order and missing.... Lastly, for the price is high end for the quality of service and food they are providing it.

Just wanted to welcome a new and actually good regular sushi option into the neighborhood and has become our new weekly sushi spot. The fish is like butter and highly recommend grabbing some toro or even the Salmon Belly Nigiri as worth the upgrade. While Ken's is still our favorite Sushi experience in the neighborhood, that is a once in month or two sort of spot for a sit down date night with my spouse. UniSushi is an every week takeout or casual sit down place that is actually good. We had been doing Sushi Exchange and then Bota as our regular spot, but found each to be a little inconsistent from time to time and each had strengths and weaknesses. We have yet to find a bad item on their sushi list and we will keep on trying them all.Have only done take out so far, but will definitely do a sit down lunch soon!

I was looking forward to having another sushi restaurant in my neighborhood. I ordered 2 of their specialty rolls and was so disappointed with quality. This place is charging top dollar for average sushi at best. Don't waste your money.

This place was near our hotel so we figured we would try it and was pleasantly surprised! Had the sashimi and sushi combo, came out with fresh cuts and really nicely plated. I would definitely come by again when we are in town. We're fast eaters so I can't comment on service as we were done pretty quickly. Interior is nice as well if that is important to you.
