Unique Bakery

As I'm gluten free the only thing I could eat were the macarons but they are reason enough to travel a long distance to attain. They are unreal, sublime - chocolate with a flavor so profoundly chocolatey it makes other chocolate taste like cardboard, pistachio that is so delicious, you must order more... even though the cabinet is full of other colorful delights. The macarons are a taste of perfection in this imperfect world. This is a bright, clean, friendly space, with great service. There was even parking out front. We're going back.

I've gotten coffee here several times and it's always fantastic. I'm a bit of an espresso snob and it exceeds my expectations. There's also a good selection of baked goods (including macaroons!) and there is lots of space for working or meeting with a friend. Staff is always very friendly, too!

tacoma needs to support cute friendly shops like unique bakery. tasty, refreshing drinks. baked goods look scrumptious. didn't need any today because just ate lunch but will definitely try next time!

You guys. You need to help me support this amazing local bakery so I don't gain 300 lbs trying to keep them in business. Discovered them yesterday on a street no one ever walks down. Ambiance is a little basic, but the service was fantastic and the pastry case is like walking into Candyland. I got a strawberry turnover and ate it on the sidewalk in a shower of flaky pastry crumbs and sugar, in a state of complete nirvana. Went back today for coffee and an equally delicious almond croissant, all made fresh on-site. This is my new happy place.

Happy accident in a Sunday brought me to Unique Bakery on Market street! My cappuccino was fabulous, exactly as I ordered it! I picked up a couple of bakery items for a local business and was not disappointed in the quality.Friendly staff, clean, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll be back!

What a great addition in Tacoma. We need more French style bakeries down here besides Met Market. Nestled right next to Tacoma Comedy Club with Street parking you can't miss this spot. Theres wide windows amd lots of open space when you walk in so dont worry about over crowding. They offer a good selection of macaron flavors. When I went there was about 9 flavors. I got the double chocolate, cinnamon roll, lemon, and raspberry. They also got lots of fruit tarts and croissants. I bought an assortment of their pastries and desserts for a birthday and bought 1 key lime meringue tart for myself. The key lime tart was good. Perfect for a single serving. The service is a bit slower as they are just starting out and getting used to things but very friendly people. The prices were fair as well. It was about 2.75 per macaron and under $5 for their pastries.

The pastries are so good and the Customer service is great! The owner of the store is also very sweet and welcoming.

We were so happy to find this hidden gem within walking distance from our hotel. Inside was so quaint and larger than anticipated. Jeff was so friendly he chatted us up while we enjoyed our tiramisu. It is one of the tastiest tiramisu's I've had in a long time. We also picked up some macarons and a ham croissant for later. Macarons had great flavor, croissant was average. Cute little bakery, great atmosphere and great treats for sharing.

I am actually really sad to say that we did not enjoy one thing we purchased from this bakery. We went in on an early Sunday afternoon, and when I say there was nothing in the cases, I mean less than bare bones. They had plenty of macarons, one apple tart, one almond tart, and a random plain bagel in the case. We purchased the remaining tarts, (and chose to eat them there) and one of each flavor of their macarons. Both of the tarts were served cold (I think because we were dining in, they should've offered to warm them). The macarons were all packaged in a bag on top of one another, not nicely placed in a box, so by the time I got them home they were a crumbled mess. I am really disappointed

How the mighty have fallen. We haven't gotten baked goods here for a while and, apparently, ownership has changed. The mango cheesecake was loaded with gelatin, and was, literally, inedible. The tiramisu was dry and pale in flavor. Everything still looks beautiful, but I can't tell you how badly I felt when I brought these deserts to the table for some friends' anniversary dinner!We will not be back. This is a pity, because there are few specialty bakeries in Tacoma.
